Protecting farmland from development is one of NRCS’s top priorities.

Chief Colton L. Buckley is On the Conservation Trail in Hood County, Texas where agriculture easements are protecting prime farmland.

He toured Fall Creek Ranch with the Langdon family to hear more about how they have protected their land, livelihood and legacy by enrolling their ranch in an agricultural easement through NRCS. The continental United States loses up to 5,000 acres a day to development, including 2,000 acres of prime farmland.
