Pingle Ancient Town (Sichuan province, 40 miles=65 km southwest of Chengdu) was the oldest trading post on China's South Silk Road, and it’s still debated whether it was the oldest trading market along China’s Silk Road altogether. It has numerous famous spots, including several temples, Leshan Bridge, the Golden Dam, Ancient Post Road and Chuanxi Lugou Bamboo Sea.
