Warning! Just because you left the Jehovah Witness does not mean that the "blood refusal card" can't be used against you.
Did you give Power of Attorney to elders so they could "do the right thing" if you needed a blood transfusion to survive? Remeber that these elders might still have several copies and they are still willing to do "the right thing". After all, they do belive resurection to be the second best alternative for you. And if you dont want to "come back to jehovah", your ONLY alternative.
As a Jehovah's Witness I personally felt coerced to give power of attorney to the elders, so that they could make sure that I did not recieve an bloodtransfusion. Other Jehovah Witness have told me the same story, but they do not want to state that in public because they might loose their JW family if they get disfellowshipped for complaining.
As a disfellowshipped Jehovah Witness you are not allowed to have contact with family. The Governing Body of the Watchtower claim that you are, but most disfellowshipped apostates (including me) do not agree with that statement.
I am not a lawyer, but I do belive Watchtower might have a legal problem here that no one pointed out before.
-1- Watchtower put in place a system were many (not everyone) felt forced to sign POA to other members of the congregation.
-2- Watchtower tell members not to talk to ex members.
This leaves those that left the organisation with limited mean of canselling their Power of Attorney. (Advance Medical Directive/Release card)
-3- Watchtower also broadcast propaganda refering to apostates as poison, enemies in a war, and downplay the dilemma of moral when it comes to the killing of apostates. (knowing that children and people with mentalproblem are in the audience)
I am not a lawyer and this reflect my personal opinion, and my own private experience as a Jehovah and now as an Apostate. But I am worried about these POA that watchtower got me to sign, and they now indirectly make it difficult to retract.
