I was really struggling to find the right song for this video, but sometimes it all comes down to the feeling. I wrote this track a while back, and after reworking the lyrics with Marshall Altman and updating the production, it finally felt like the perfect fit.
The song is actually about trying to maintain your "Self Control" when the world gets crazy around you. I sometimes have to hold back and not go off on social media when I see things that really bother me or find offensive. I try to pick my battles and not get worked up all the time.
The visuals are a bit wacky and slightly off, not exactly a literal translation of the theme, but the energy just matches perfectly. When I watch a video with a song, I have to feel it. It just has to feel right.
