The bot works by taking screenshots of the game board. It checks the color of the center of each space to determine the color of the gem located there. One kind of neat thing I didn't intend is that both a person and the bot and work together, even though the bot takes control of the mouse (it's a wired quirk of how Bejeweled responds to clicks)

Getting to the top of online scoreboards is not very impressive if you used a bot)Minesweeper vs BotTom Wildenhain2017-01-06 | Minesweeper is tedious and frustrating. And like all tedious and frustrating things, the solution is clear: automate it with a robot!

For the curious, the cube explodes if it is put down and picked up without being sent through a portal. The green fields are like emancipation grills that block portals but not cubes. The buttons turn them off when pressed.
The hunt also featured a synthesized GLADoS voice, iced cardboard "cake" (which was a lie), deadly lasers (red Christmas lights), a robotic safe, and detailed plot.
Currently, the app is hard coded with images from my house, but maybe at some point I'll put a more customizable version on the app store.
The app uses Unity and the Vuforia API, which are awesome!
