Hey there, fellow gamers! Get ready for some "exciting" news from the world of Unity. They've decided to spice up your life in 2024 with a Unity Runtime Fee. Yeah, you heard it right, a fee! But hey, before you start flipping tables, let's break it down.

So, Unity Engine, you know, the magic behind those games you love? Well, it's got two sides - the Unity Editor and the Unity Runtime. The Runtime is the thing that makes your games work on all those devices. Now they wanna charge you for it. Great, right?

New feature: Class Marks
Class Marks allow you to pick traits from a different class
To unlock a class mark you will need to finish the class master quests.
Those quests require you to reach agony IV on the character's stage of origin.
These quests superseed the character quests to reach level 100.
If you have already completed the level 100 quests those quests will be set as completed.

New feature: Agony Mode
Agony Mode can be unlocked by defeating the Lord of a stage.
Monster count, monster health, and XP drops are dynamically scaled based on your performance
Each killed enemy increases agony, while monsters that are alive reduce agony over time.
Aside from monsters, only reviving reduces agony.
You may find ‘Uncommon Items’: stronger variations of items that you’ve retrieved previously
Additional champion monsters are spawning
Champions are randomized monsters with extra modifiers and abilities.
Champions can drop various rewards from ability scrolls, to uncommon items, gold, flasks, or an extra bucket for the well.

New stage: Frozen Depths
Can be unlocked by defeating the frost knight on the Forgotten Viaduct.
New unknown enemies await with 3 unique bosses and a new lord.
The stage layout limits your movement and requires you to navigate carefully through the caves while avoiding getting encircled by foes.

New elemental effect: Frost
Frost explodes and deals damage in an area when the affected monster dies or 20 stacks have been accumulated.
If the frost effect runs out it triggers with only half of its damage.
Frost deals damage based on the number of stacks.
The strongest hit that applied frost determines the area of the effect.

New characters
Norseman
Dual wielding axe fighter boosting your physical abilities.
When he hits a certain number of enemies he unleashes a devastating Frost Nova.

Beast Huntress
Throws her spear with great force, piercing through the enemy lines and applying frost effect.
Has a hound that protects her from close enemies.

New abilities
Ice Avalanche: an ice based attack with a diagonal pattern.
Flame Strike: close quarter defense or boss killer.
Arcane Rift: magic mines that deal devastating damage.
Spirit Warrior: summoned warrior that dashes through enemies.
Potion of Renewal: allows you to reroll abilities
Hallucinogenic Elixir: allows you to reroll items in a chest

POLISH & QOL
All final stage bosses have lower health but they increase in difficulty over time.
Potion of Oblivion now allows you to banish a trait without closing the trait selection.
Discarding all items in a chest gives you XP worth 50% of your current total XP bar.
You can now discard all abilities from a Scroll of Mastery which will also give you 50% XP of your current total XP bar.
Some fixes regarding item and monster positioning in level geometry
Picking up quest items or ingredients will show a short text telling you what you’ve picked up
Potion quantities have been adjusted (max amount and bottles)
Many more tweaks, adjustments, and bug fixes that would either go beyond the scope of this post or we didn’t track properly.
Retrieving potion bottles doesn’t use up the well any longer. Also, when you survive a run, all bottles in your bag will be automatically added to your potions (no purchase necessary).

Starfield offers an unprecedented level of customization, and apparently, that's controversial.

Starfield's character customization screen sets the bar high, with backgrounds, traits, and yes, even pronouns. But oh boy, some players are furious! They say it's all part of the "LGBTQ+ agenda," as if characters and gamers are on a secret mission to convert the world. Newsflash: it's not, and that's just absurd.

Choosing pronouns in Starfield is a nod to representation, a simple option tucked away in the menu. You can even skip it, and the game will pick for you. But here's the kicker: it matters! Sometimes, the game talks about your character in third-person, and those pronouns come into play. But hey, apparently, even that is too much for some.

Starfield is all about freedom – to be who you want, to play how you want. But for some, that's a no-go. They're boycotting the game, claiming politics are invading their escapism. Even diversity in the game is seen as a threat. Go figure!

HIGHLIGHT: Chirpnado | What the...? (BRONZE Trophy) | Cities: Skylines PS4 Version

Cities: Skylines thought it would be a great idea to have a luck-based trophy in the Natural Disasters DLC, and after many hours of letting disasters wreck my city, I've finally experienced THE CHIRPNADO.

Notes about unlocking this trophy on the PlayStation 4 version of the game:
Warning message was the same as any other tornado warning, BUT when I tried to show where the tornado would appear in the disaster highlighter, it didn't highlight an area in the disaster notifications like it normally does with a regular tornado. I think this is a good way to know if the next tornado is the one.
Population roughtly 150,000 in the city at the time of the disaster.
Chirpnado occurred not long after I re-loaded my main save, year 2096.

Cities: Skylines is a city-building game developed by Colossal Order and published by Paradox Interactive. The game is a single-player open-ended city-building simulation. Players engage in urban planning by controlling zoning, road placement, taxation, public services, and public transportation of an area. Players work to maintain various elements of the city, including its budget, health, employment, and pollution levels. Players are also able to maintain a city in a sandbox mode, which provides more creative freedom for the player.

Cities: Skylines is a progression of development from Colossal Order's previous Cities in Motion titles, which focused on designing effective transportation systems. While the developers felt they had the technical expertise to expand to a full city simulation game, their publisher Paradox held off on the idea, fearing the market dominance of SimCity. After the critical failure of the 2013 SimCity game, however, Paradox greenlit the title. The developer's goal was to create a game engine capable of simulating the daily routines of nearly a million unique citizens, while presenting this to the player in a simple way, allowing the player to easily understand various problems in their city's design. This includes realistic traffic congestion, and the effects of congestion on city services and districts. Since the game's release, various expansions and other DLC has been released for the game. The game also has built-in support for user-generated content.

The game was first released for the Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems in March 2015, with ports to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 game consoles being released in 2017 and for the Nintendo Switch in September 2018 developed by Tantalus Media. The game received favourable reviews from critics, and was a commercial success, with more than six million copies sold on all platforms as of March 2019.

The Elder Scrolls Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by ZeniMax Online Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was released for Microsoft Windows and OS X in April 2014, with versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S planned. It is a part of the Elder Scrolls series.

The game is set in the continent of Tamriel and features a storyline indirectly connected with the other games in the Elder Scrolls franchise. It had been in development for seven years before its release in 2014. It initially received mixed reviews, but these improved significantly with the re-release and rebranding as The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, with critics praising the changes that were made.

The Elder Scrolls Online originally used a mandatory monthly subscription model until it transitioned in March 2015 to a buy-to-play model with microtransactions and an optional subscription. Dual Universe is a first person based space simulation sandbox massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by the Paris-based game development studio, Novaquark.

It is reported to combine elements of Eve Online and Star Citizen, as well as Minecraft, No Man's Sky, and Space Engineers. The game is set in a continuous single-shard universe, wherein players are able to fully edit the environment by building structures and altering terrain, as well as being given the ability to script the components within vehicles and other player-built objects. A heavy focus is also placed on allowing for collective social gameplay involving exploration, mining, crafting, trade, politics and warfare.

It relies on a server technology that Novaquark has termed a CSSC (Continuous Single-Shard Cluster), which allows all players to play the game simultaneously together in the same universe without the need for instancing of player zones or loading screens.

The Leviathan Expedition
Our seventh expedition traps Travellers inside a time loop, and offers a taste of roguelike gameplay. Difficulty is tuned to survival-mode settings, and every death means a reset of the loop.
As players explore the loop, they will recover Memory Fragments, lost remnants of previous loops. These manifest as procedurally generated technology, meaning each reset of the loop may play out very differently.
Faced with such difficulty, players across the world can collaborate with each other to even the odds. Alongside their personal efforts to break the loop, Travellers can help Specialist Polo as they research the loop’s peculiar manifestations.
The more Travellers that participate in the research, the stronger the Memory Fragments become, manifesting in better upgrades, more inventory space, and stronger Multi-Tools and starships.

Expedition Narrative
As players seek a way to unbind the time-loop curse, they will find a story-driven adventure at the heart of the expedition.
Follow the trail of your previous iterations, absorb memories, investigate significant sites, and work together to escape from the curse of the loop.
Shattered memories all point towards an encounter with an ancient space creature, The Leviathan – but will Travellers succeed in reshaping history, or are they doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past?
The Leviathan expedition begins today, and will run for approximately six weeks.
Begin a new Community Expedition game to enter the loop, and earn a generous assortment of limited-edition rewards.
When the Leviathan expedition concludes, your progress will be converted to a Survival Mode save. Phase rewards can be redeemed across all save games from the Space Anomaly’s Quicksilver Synthesis Companion.

Leviathan Expedition Rewards
Remember your time in the loop with a trio of base decorations – the Leviathan, Loop, and Timesplice Posters.
The Temporal Starship Trail can be fitted in your ship to modify propulsion energy, and leave a visually mesmerising streak of temporal disturbances.
The sweeping Whalestalker Cloak was once worn by an ill-fated Traveller, obsessed with their quest to capture a cosmic leviathan and doomed to repeat the chase for all eternity.
Rehome an Organic Frigate Calf in your base. This mysterious creature is enclosed in a chrono-preservation field to ensure it remains eternally young, playful, and a manageable size.
Finally, the space giant itself – The Leviathan – may be recruited as an organic addition to your capital ship’s frigate fleet.

Ghost of Tsushima is a 2020 action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Featuring an open world, the player controls Jin Sakai, a samurai on a quest to protect Tsushima Island during the first Mongol invasion of Japan. The game was released for PlayStation 4 on July 17, 2020, and a Director's Cut for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, titled Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut, was released on August 20, 2021. It received several award nominations and wins, and received praise for its visuals, art direction, narrative, and combat but was criticized for its open world design. Ghost of Tsushima had sold 8 million copies by January 2022. A film adaptation is currently in development.
