So it turns out Up and Atom made a video about this a while ago(youtu.be/cALezV_Fwi0)! Thanks for bringing that to my attention commenters! I've just watched it and it's really good! The whole channel is fantastic actually. Check it out!
This spring paradox is actually an analogy for Braess's Paradox which is about traffic. The surprising behaviour of the springs when the blue rope is cut is just like how journey times can actually go down when you close a major road, even with the same number of journeys being made.

Artificial sweetener works by binding to your sweetness receptors but they provide no calories. What effect does that have on the sweetness receptors in your gut and can your other taste senses be tricked in the same way: sour, butter, umami (savory) and salt?

Computers add numbers together using logic gates built out of transistors. But they don't have to be! They can be built out of greedy cup siphons instead! I used specially designed siphones to works as XOR and AND gates and chained them together so they add 4 digit binary numbers.

Orbital Resonance
Incredibly, three of the four largest moons of Jupiter (Ganymede, Europa and Io) have orbital periods that are whole number ratios with each other (1:2:4). The big gap in Saturn's rings is caused by a moon much further out that has an orbital period double that of the gap! We've even found exoplanet systems with these patterns. They're all the result of orbital resonance. This video explains how that mechanism works.
CORRECTION: In the video I say that Ganymede, Europa and Io are the largest moons are jupiter. Actually here are the 4 largest moons from largest to smallest:
Ganymede
Callisto
Io
Europa

Tensegrity (or tensional integrity, or floating compression) is really counterintuitive. These bizarre structures can be explained quite nicely with a 2D version (you know I love to explain things with a 2D versions!).

Heron's Fountain is a mind bending hydrodynamic mechanism. It appears to be perpetual motion but it fact it's a really clever mix of pneumatics and hydraulics. This 2D presentation helps to explain how it works.

Gaining unauthorised entry to someone else's car is illegal. Jamming is illegal in the UK. It might be illegal where you live too.
Car key fobs transmit a binary code to the car over radio. If the car recognises the code it unlocks. There are various systems in place to make that process secure. This video is about the way vulnerabilities in those systems can be exploited. Including replay and rolljam attacks.

Almost all white things are white because of scattering. You can do really cool things by playing with refractive index to dial up or down the amount of scattering, you can even make things disappear. It's how a Buddha Board works!
