We moved out to our cabin in the woods nearly 3 years ago & little by little we have made this place an amazing home. This week we tackle a "curb appeal" project that's been on our minds for quite some time. Our cabin's exterior gets a facelift while I (Bec) continue to learn about the new mental and physical challenges of being 26 weeks pregnant.

30:55 room reveal!!
Back in 2020, Eamon & Bec bought this rundown cabin in the Canadian wilderness to make a family home and create a cozy home base. We are so proud of how far we've come with this (mostly) DIY project and couldn't be happier to be raising a beautiful new baby out here in the woods. Is there honestly anything better than being in nature, getting your toes in the dirt and swimming in Canadian fresh water lakes? The only dilemma is that this cabin is barely big enough for the the 3 of us.... let alone the many guests and additional family members that we like to host as well.
Join us this week as we turn our empty loft space into a beautiful guest bedroom. We think it's so cozy and inviting that we might even move up there!!

This project was made SO MUCH MORE FUN with the addition of our Australian bestie Max! Make sure you give him a follow @MaxandOccy and watch his episode from his time with us at the cabin.

We first moved to our cabin in the woods back in 2020 and got stuck into the interior renovation projects. It took us nearly a year to turn a run down 1970s cabin into our dream home and oasis in the woods. Slowly we've been chipping away at exterior projects like this one. Over the course of 1 year we transformed unusable, rocky ground into a grassy area we know our kids will love playing games on in the future!
In April of 2023 we found out we were pregnant with our first baby! After a tough year of breast cancer treatment, we weren't even sure if it would be possible to conceive naturally so we have been absolutely thrilled to share this news with you. Today we go in for our 20 week scan and learn that our baby is happy and healthy which is honestly all we could ever hope for. The bonus is that we can now reveal their gender too!! But, in true Eamon & Bec fashion things do not go according to plan and we have a bit of a gender reveal fail on our hands 😝

Eamon & Bec originally moved into a self-converted sprinter van back in 2017 to grow the distribution of their tea product. Over the years the focus shifted from tea back to creating videos for YouTube but their passion for tea never left. Eamon & Bec are so excited to announce the launch of their new, expanded brand called Habit. The mission: tea worth talking over. Habit was born out of a love of tea and good conversation.
There’s nothing more important than talking and sharing, so Habit teas are made to take time over.

Eamon and I have been lucky enough to travel to Mexico in our van since 2018 and we've always been so sad to see the struggling stray dogs and puppies on the streets. We even fostered a sick puppy from Baja in 2019 and drove him back up to Canada where he's happily lived in his furever home for the last 4 years. So, when we met Alex and he said it was his dream to start a dog rescue here in Baja we knew we needed to help! 🐶 🐕 🐩

I've often wondered what it would be like to downsize our tiny home to a truck conversion that takes you anywhere you want to go! On the flip side, our friend Eva has wondered what it'd be like to upgrade her sq-ft to something a little bit bigger (like a van) that can accommodate a toilet, shower, and some extra storage/living space. TODAY, we switch lives for 24 hours and do a TINY HOUSE SWAP!!! Watch until the end of the video to hear all of our thoughts on each other's alternative lifestyles and which option we would VOTE for: van life or overlanding?
After our 3000-mile journey from Canada to Mexico we settle into life in the southern part of the Baja Peninsula and take you along for a full 24 hours in our van life here. We'll show you where we safely park our van at night, how we make vanlife friends and what we eat in a day.

We absolutely love living in our van in Morocco. It is a place with diverse landscapes (hello Sahara desert 😍 ), amazing culture and people, and even more importantly... a place we've returned to so many times now that we feel at home here. We returned at the end of 2021 to find our tiny home parked exactly as we’d left it (much to our surprise!). We began our victory lap through Morocco and flew home for what we thought would be a quick breast surgery… turns out I had stage 3 breast cancer.

This week we shut down our cabin in the woods, meet a bunch of you at the breast cancer run for the cure & attempt to fly over to Spain to hang with our buds @KaraandNate and @RayaandLouis on a silent yacht BUUUUUT Covid had other plans. As always, it's a roller coaster!

In 2017 we bought our first sprinter van and spent 30 days renovating it into our dream tiny home. The plan was to van life around the world and we'd made it all the way from Canada to Africa. Fast forward to COVID...us abandoning our van in a Moroccan parking lot, flying home to Canada, converting yet another van, and then moving to our cabin in the woods.
We've always envisioned moving into the woods by the lake and building our dream tiny cabin as a home base for us to come back to in between our international van life travels. With our sights set on returning to Morocco (after this hard year of cancer treatment), we thought it was time we dust off our van life skills. So, we squeeze 4 people into our sprinter van conversion for 48 hours!
After 1 year away from #vanlife we are back for a road trip to NYC!! This time... we've got our 100LB dog with us. Living in 60 sq-ft is tough for two adult humans so adding a human-sized dog should get interesting. The goal? We'd love for Oso to fall in love with living in a van so we can all move in full-time and travel together!

On December 21, 2021, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer after months of appointments, biopsies, and misinformation. In January of 2022, I began my treatment plan which consisted of 1 full round of IVF to preserve our fertility, 8 rounds of intensive chemotherapy, another partial mastectomy (breast surgery), and finally 20 rounds of radiation. Today I am sharing a behind-the-scenes look at 1 full month of radiation, the side effects of the treatment, and a little celebration that this marks the end of a very long year of treatment.
The online world comes with many beautiful perks but the constant highlight reels of Instagram and social media can often make us feel isolated. Like we're not doing enough. Like we don't have enough. That we aren't enough. And while I love sharing the amazing places we've traveled and never miss a chance to capture a sunset I want my voice here to be more impactful. We are all enough. We are everything we could ever need. We can find beauty in the midst of turmoil, despair, and chaos.
Thank you for making this a safe space for me to share such personal videos with no filters. We love you. We can hardly believe that we are on the other side of this journey. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support you have sent our way this year.

Over the last eight months, I have had two breast surgeries, 8 rounds of intensive chemotherapy, and 1 month of fertility treatment (ending with an egg retrieval surgery) to treat breast cancer. Before I begin 20 rounds of radiation therapy I want to see how strong I can become both physically and mentally so I have challenged myself to 30 days of meditation and training for a 5KM run. Can we do it? YES, WE CAN!

Back when we first met with our oncologist, 16 weeks of chemotherapy sounded like a mountain I wasn't sure I was strong enough to climb. And while it has certainly been the hardest months of our lives I now know that I was given this mountain to show others it CAN be moved.

On December 21, 2021 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. We embarked on a journey of healing beginning with 8 rounds of chemotherapy. Before chemo began I was terrified of losing my hair, of feeling weak and of becoming really sickly looking but I was determined to remain positive about how the treatment would affect me. Today we are sharing what a typical day looks like for us at home while living with cancer and the harsh effects of chemotherapy treatment. Our life at our cabin in the woods certainly looks different now than it did a year ago (think more napping, less building stuff 😜 ) but I hope anyone going through something similar may find a bit of hope in this episode. Maybe you feel a little less alone. Maybe you learn a new food trick. Or maybe you just take this as your reminder to go easy on yourself.
Sending you all so much love and gratitude. Your messages, comments and prayers are felt by us both and we appreciate them all so much.

What do you think of the renovation?
❤️ We want to say thank you for all of the love and support we continue to receive at this time. Bec is a real warrior and is doing the absolute best she can. We will be sharing a life update in an upcoming video but until then now that we appreciate you all. Keep the love coming.

We're Eamon and Bec, a Canadian couple who previously lived and traveled full-time in our self converted Sprinter Van!! When the pandemic hit in 2020 we made the difficult decision to abandon our van in Africa and fly home to Canada. Now we're here... living at a cabin in the Canadian wilderness! We are currently moving through Bec's breast cancer diagnosis and sharing the ups and downs with you along the way.

The hardest words I've heard lately have been "you have breast cancer" but this was followed closely by "you will lose your hair." For as long as I can remember I have had long, healthy hair, and as I learned on this hair loss journey... this was a big part of my identity. But what scared me more about losing all my hair to chemotherapy was that once I was bald I would be easily identified as a cancer patient. Knowing that anyone could quickly see what I was going through and feel 'sorry for me' or 'sad for me' scared me even more.
This story begins with cutting 16 inches off my hair to hopefully make a wig from my own hair. I then share a beautiful wig we've gotten to help me through those moments where I just want to feel a little 'normal' again. And last I share the troubling moments of hair shedding to the moment when we decide to shave my head.
A big thanks to Follea for making beautiful wigs that look and feel just like human hair.

After receiving my diagnosis, my team of doctors devised a treatment plan that will give me the best chances of beating breast cancer at 31 years old. It all begins with 8 rounds of chemotherapy. I will receive bi-weekly infusions which (if all goes according to plan) will bring us into May of 2022. Our hope is that the chemotherapy will attack all of the cancer cells that remain in my right breast and kill any little cancerous cells that may have metastasized throughout my body. Unfortunately, there is no real way to detect how well my body is responding to the treatment as I go through it but I will continue to meditate and focus my energy on healing.
I want to take a second to thank you all again for being on this journey with us. We can genuinely feel the love we are receiving worldwide and know that it is a crucial part of our healing. Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers 🥰⚡️☀️ 💛

On December 21, 2021, I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at 31 years old. To add to the news my doctor said that chemotherapy and other hormonal treatments have a high chance of sending me into early menopause and therefore lessen our chances of conceiving naturally. We haven't talked too much about our child plan with all of you but having kids has always been something we have wanted. So, my team of doctors gave us the option to undergo 1 round of IVF to hopefully freeze embryos to implant in the future (once I am cancer free) & preserve our chances of bringing a biological baby into this world.
We are grateful for this chance.
While undergoing treatment we realized just how many couples are also going through this journey for a variety of reasons. We hope that watching us go from confused, afraid and overwhelmed to learning how to take the daily injections all the way to a successful egg retrieval and embryo freezing may make you feel a little less alone ❤️❤️❤️.
