Much excellent work has been done in recent years to draw attention to issues surrounding mental health and wellbeing. Links are increasingly being drawn between archaeology and its benefits in helping to improve wellbeing, as well as recovery from traumatic experiences and promoting mindfulness.
This is a subject very close to Time Team's heart, having previously worked with Operation Nightingale to support soldiers who have returned from conflict. We're often humbled to discover that watching Time Team has provided some comfort to some fans in times of need.
In this video, Tim Taylor meets Dr Will Rathouse of the Museum of London Archaeology (MOLA) to find out more about some inspiring projects he has been involved with, both with the Thames Discovery Programme and Mind Aberystwyth.
We hope you find the conversation interesting and that it inspires you to continue looking after your own wellbeing!

Time Team's community archaeologist, Dani Wootton returns to Higher Uppacott, a 14th century Devon longhouse, for a tour with historic buildings expert, Dr Richard Parker. You may remember Richard from our recent 'Cottage Core' video: youtu.be/oQKxgxXG12c
Just like a detective, Richard is an expert at piecing together the clues from architectural details, in order to understand phasing and story of a building over hundreds of years.
Higher Uppacott is a Grade I listed, thatched Medieval farmhouse in Dartmoor National Park, Devon, in South West England. A team from the University of Plymouth (including Time Team's own 3D reconstruction artist, Matt Clark) have been digitally scanning the historic farmhouse to create a 3D game environment. Find out more about the project here: youtu.be/z7pfGWQOwCk
Whether you're fascinating by ancient buildings or simply gripped by farm core, this one's for you!
Very special thanks to Matt Clark (Shadow Tor Studios), the staff and students of the University of Plymouth, Dartmoor National Park Authority and Gareth Allen of Soundview Media Ltd.

Music courtesy of Premium BeatVirtual Dartmoor: Laser Scanning a Devon Farmhouse | Time TeamTime Team Official2022-03-05 | Throughout the year, in between our main dig episodes, we’ll be dropping in on a range of other interesting archaeological projects that feature Time Team's friends and family.
This week, Dani Wootton pays a visit to Dartmoor National Park, Devon, in South West England, where a team from the University of Plymouth are digitally scanning an historic farmhouse to create a 3D game environment.
Higher Uppacott is a Grade I listed, thatched Medieval longhouse, with origins dating back to the mid-14th century.
It’s history meets high-tech, and as Dani highlights, there are many parallels between game design and virtual reality, and the modern techniques now used by today’s archaeologists.
Over the coming weeks, we'll be following the story of Higher Uppacott, including progress on the 3D modelling exercise, and a tour of the longhouse with Time Team's historic buildings expert, Dr Richard Parker.
Very special thanks to Matt Clark (Shadow Tor Studios), the staff and students of the University of Plymouth, Dartmoor National Park Authority and Gareth Allen of Soundview Media Ltd.

You may well be more familiar with Jimmy's dirty shoes, but for around ten years, he was an integral member of Time Team in Dr John Gater's geophysics crew. Using state-of-the-art technology, he mapped out archaeology beneath the ground with pinpoint precision.
After a brief intro going over the GPR basics, Jimmy dives in to examples from several classic episodes of Time Team, with his characteristic wit and plenty of anecdotes along the way.
Jimmy reunited with the team for our 2021 dig at the Broughton Roman villa in Oxfordshire and our landmark new survey of the iconic Sutton Hoo. We'll be sharing the results of these later in the year, so please watch this space.

In this round-up of 2021, Time Team's resident community archaeologist and small finds specialist, Dani Wootton looks back at ten of the biggest stories, from the UK and beyond.
As we all know, the 2020s so far have been marred by the global pandemic. But one small positive, in an otherwise challenging time, has been the range of jaw-dropping archaeological discoveries made as a direct result of lockdown. Dani takes a look at some of these.
Of course, there were many other incredible archaeological stories and discoveries all around the world in 2021. We couldn't possibly list them all here. So please share your own favourites in the comments section.

We're also joined by Dr Tim Ewin, Senior Curator at the Natural History Museum to discuss the similarities between archaeology and palaeontology, and amazing 'Jurassic Pompeii' also recently discovered in the UK.
While very different subjects, there are some clear parallels between archaeology and palaeontology, and Time Team is no stranger to palaeontology, having searched for mammoths in an Oxfordshire gravel pit back in Series 3. We also headed to Montana's 'Dinosaur Belt' for a 2001 special to excavate a Tyrannosaurus Rex!
Special thanks to Sid and Vish Singh, and Dr Tim Ewin of the Natural History Museum, London.
