2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix - My Trackside Highlights @Tigerbear62

Tigerbear62 Hello everyone, here is probably the longest video I'm going to make on the Saudi GP, a highlight's video of the entire 3 day weekend. Starting at pit stop practice on Thursday, all the way until the podium celebrations after the race on Saturday.

I have been to both the 2021 and 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix (I just didn't have a proper camera then!), but unfortunately I cannot say that this race was as eventful or exciting as those two excellent races. Like Bahrain, Max Verstappen was completely dominant this race. Leading from nearly start to finish, with Lando Norris taking the lead for a short period after Lance Stroll went into the barriers, after tagging the wall on the entry of turn 22 early in the race, causing a safety car.

While that was the only safety car during the Grand Prix (Unusual for Jeddah), it was not the only collision, with Kevin Magnussen and Alex Albon having a small crash in turn 4, which I caught on video! The collision would prompt the stewards to give Magnussen a 10 second penalty, leading to some exciting midfield action with Magnussen trying to help his teammate, Nico Hulkenburg, score points, after his own race was ruined.

Unfortunately the early safety car would mean that almost everybody would pit for new sets of tyres, which many would make last until the end of the race, eliminating any pit strategy battles whatsoever.

Ford Mustang GT3 Racing at Brands Hatch - 5.4L NA Coyote V8 Sound

Tigerbear62 2025-10-02 | Here is my second video on the Ford Mustang GT3 which debuted last year, which I filmed in Spring at Brands Hatch during the GTWC weekend. While I made a video on the Mustang ran by Proton Competition that raced in the Endurance Cup last year at Jeddah, the single Mustang in the Sprint Cup this year is ran by HRT Ford Performance and driven by Jusuf Owega and Romain Andriolo.

The Mustang has continued to struggle outside of the WEC and IMSA since its debut, with it finishing in the bottom places during both races at Brands Hatch. The car seems to have some balance and aero issues that arised during the homologation process leading to an early Evo package which is scheduled to start racing as soon as next year, but the NA V8 does sound great even if its not super loud. GT3 is a fairly quiet category but the Mustang brings some a distinct sound and some nice variety to the GTWC soundtrack.

ELMS Returns to Silverstone - ELMS 4 Hours of Silverstone 2025 Trackside Highlights

Tigerbear62 2025-09-19 | Here is my full trackside highlights video from this past weekend at the ELMS return to Silverstone Circuit after 6 years. It was a fun race, and awesome to see modern Le Mans prototypes and GT3s racing multiclass at this track. The start was moved forward an hour to 11:00AM instead of the originally scheduled 12:00PM in an effort to dodge the forecasted rain, but due to multiple red flag periods and safety cars in the first hour, the lost time was added back on to the race time meaning the race still ended up finishing and eventually being red flagged due to very heavy rain.

The #18 IDEC Sport car being driven by Jamie Chadwick, Mathys Jaubert, and Daniel Juncadella won the race in LMP2 and overall, with the #20 Algarve Pro Racing car winning in LMP2 Pro-Am, #17 CLX Motorsport car winning in LMP3, and the #50 Richard Mille AF Corse car winning in the LMGT3 class.

I have seen the Gibson V8 powered Oreca 07 LMP2 cars before, but it was nice to see them at such a familiar circuit. They overpowered everything else on track by quite a substantial margin, with the new 2025 LMP3 cars being far quieter and in my opinion worse sounding after switching to a twin turbo V6 from the sometimes annoyingly loud NA V8. I have seen GT3 cars countless times as well, but the LMGT3 class was particularly quiet, with all the louder GT3 cars being completely silenced. The two Porsche 992 GT3Rs were inaudible next to any other car, with the normally decently loud new Corvette Z06 GT3.R also being silenced to the point where you can hear the transmission more than the engine. I was curious to hear these muffled versions, but it is a much worse experience trackside when the Vantage and 296 GT3 dominate the volume in the GT3 category.

Tigerbear62 2025-09-16 | Here is a short video from the ELMS return to Silverstone this past weekend. Zak Brown was there with his team United Autosports, and did two laps in a Jaguar XJR-8 Group C car which he owned. While it was only 2 laps, I got enough footage of them starting up the car and it on track to make a quick video before the main ELMS highlights. The classic car has a massive 7.0L V12 which howled around the circuit, with the signature rear wheel covers, along with the iconic purple white and gold livery.

Best of F1 Cars at FOS 2025 - Goodwood Festival Of Speed 2025

Tigerbear62 2025-08-28 | I've finally finished my first proper long video from the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. This video is dedicated to the huge number of Formula 1 cars at the FOS this year, in celebration of F1 75. There were countless iconic racing machines at Goodwood, from the screaming V10 cars of the late 90s - mid 2000s, V12, V10, V8, and V6 Turbo cars of the mid 80s - 90s, V8 machines of the mid 2000s - early 2010s, and plenty of cars from the 60s to 80s powered by the famous Cosworth DFV V8 engine.

There were many contemporary Formula 1 cars in attendance with Ferrari, Mercedes, Alpine, and Haas all bringing modern cars to the festival, with cars as recent as 2019 - 2024 going up the hillclimb. This was definitely the largest gathering of F1 cars I have ever seen, with even more cars in the paddock than what I got footage of. There was a 2001 Jaguar R2 which unfortunately didn't run due to mechanical issues, and countless cars on static display as well.

Ferrari 488 GTE racing at Le Mans - 4.0 litre Twin Turbo V8 Sound

Tigerbear62 2025-07-28 | Here is the video that will finally cross every single GTE that raced at Le Mans in 2023 off the list. The Ferrari 488 GTE was one of the more succesfull GTE cars, with its 2018 EVO variant racing until the end of GTE in 2023 and the car I captured in this video. The car would win over 40 races in the WEC, IMSA, and ELMS out of the 80 it competed in, an astonishing win percentage, making it a popular car for privateer and smaller teams. It would win its first race at the 2016 6 Hours of Silverstone, and its last at the 2023 6 Hours of Fuji, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans twice in 2019 and 2021 in the GTE Pro class with AF Corse.

The 488 GTE was the successor to the famous 458 GTE, an arguably equally as successful GTE car. The most noticeable difference between the two was the turbocharged engine of the 488, with both the 488 GTE and GT3 replacing the 4.5 litre naturally aspirated V8, with a 3.9/4.0 litre twin turbocharged V8. While a lot quieter than the screaming 458, I still think both racing versions of the 488 sound nice. They arent loud but arent too quiet (especially in comparison to its replacement, the 296 GT3), have a nice engine note, and pretty cool turbo flutters and noises. The GTE car in particular, while revving a bit lower than the GT3, has a signature loud bang on upshifts that is not present on the GT3 variant.

I hope you enjoy watching one of the most successful and famous GTE cars navigate the corners of the world famous Circuit De La Sarthe. The GTE cars are sorely missed, and Im glad I got to see and film them at their last ever visit to Le Mans.

2026 Lexus/Toyota GT3 at Goodwood - V8 Turbo sound?

Tigerbear62 2025-07-20 | To my surprise, the new Toyota/Lexus GT3 challenger was at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year. I did not notice it on the entry list, so was very pleased to see and hear the new GT3 car in person. I have never seen the current RCF GT3 in person before (I have plans to before the end of this year!), but as a successor to the RCF, which has been racing since 2017, it has big shoes to fill. The RCF is currently only being run internationally by Vasser Sullivan Racing in IMSA, and Akkodis ASP in WEC (to my knowledge), after seemingly being phased out of a lot of other non Japanese series due to the cars age. While the mentioned teams will certainly adopt this new mysterious GT3 car in IMSA and WEC, I am sure we will also see it in other series like GTWC.

From what I could tell after hearing and filming the car, it is almost certainly a turbocharged, crossplane V8 engine. You can hear a lot of the turbo flutters and whistles in this video, and the engine is obviously unmistakable as a crossplane V8, similar to the current RCF GT3. The car sounded pretty nice, maybe a bit louder than the current AMG GT3.

Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH & Cadillac V Series.R at Goodwood FOS - Unrestricted NA V12 & NA V8 Sound

Tigerbear62 2025-07-13 | I was very happy to see both the brand new Aston Martin Valkyrie LMH and Cadillac V Series.R LMDh on the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed entry list, and was even more pleased when I first heard the Valkyrie go up the hill. The naturally aspirated 6.5 litre V12 engine was fitted with the very loud IMSA exhaust for the festival, rather than the far more restricted and quieter WEC exhaust system.

After a small talk with the Heart of Racing mechanics running the car, I learnt that the screaming IMSA exhaust setup is completely straight piped, after IMSA themselves told THoR to make the car louder after fan complaints, when the car made its very underwhelming and quiet public test at Daytona. The FIA forces them to run a far quieter set up in the WEC, which I am very thankful they removed before the festival.

Both the Valkyrie and Cadillac were in their WEC liveries, the Valkyrie in its British Racing Green, and the Cadillac in its gold and red Jota colours. The V8 was loud and beefy as usual, but I was slightly shocked to hear that the V12 of the Valkyrie is definitely the new loudest car in endurance racing. It reminded me of a 2000s V10 F1 car, not just in the similar, very loud, volume, but the aggressive traction control and off throttle sound.

The Valkyrie is new to the WEC and IMSA Sportscar Championship for 2025 after the seemingly dead project was revived in 2023. It has failed to see any good results yet, aside from finishing the tough 24 Hours of Le Mans, which is to be expected from such a new car. The Cadillac on the other hand has proved itself as a more than capable endurance racing machine since its debut in 2023, winning 4 races in IMSA, and the title in GTP in 2023. It has yet to win a race in WEC, and has a single podium after finishing 3rd in the 2023 24 Hours of Le Mans. The car has been successful in qualifying this year though, locking out the front row in both Le Mans, and very very recently in Interlagos. It was lovely to see the Cadillac again after 2 years since I visited Le Mans, especially in a new livery, doing burnouts, and putting on a show for the crowd.

I hope you enjoy hearing both the new screaming V12 of the Valkyrie, and famous roar of the Cadillac's V8 as much as I did!

GT3 Cars Racing at Brands Hatch - 2025 GTWCE Sprint Cup Trackside Highlights

Tigerbear62 2025-05-06 | Here is my full trackside highlights video from the very recent GTWCE Sprint Cup round at Brands Hatch. A packed field of 30 GT3 cars represented by 10 manufacturers, 2 more than the 8 of last year with the addition of Ford with their Mustang GT3 and Corvette with their Z06 GT3.R, raced around the thrilling and historic circuit.

This is always a staple event of the year for me, and this year was especially great due to being able to do both days (I've only done this once before in 2022), and the more diverse entry list. Brands Hatch is probably my favourite track to visit and spectate. An awesome and classic track layout paired with a full grid of modern (and unsilenced) GT3 cars is hard to beat. I saw the Mustang GT3 for 3 full days at the 6 hours of Jeddah last year, but was definitely happy to see it again and at a different circuit. I hadn't however seen the new Corvette Z06 GT3.R that debuted last year until this weekend, and am glad to have ticked that one off the bucket list as well. I am sure I will make a video dedicated to it, and also to the legendary Huracan GT3 which is sadly being replaced next year, meaning this race was likely the last time I have seen it in competition.

The true speed of F1 - Jeddah Corniche Circuit (2025)

Tigerbear62 2025-04-22 | Its easy to forget just how fast Formula 1 cars actually are, until you stand trackside somewhere like the Jeddah Corniche Circuit. These 2025 cars take these corners at 250+ KPH (160+ MPH) nearly reaching cornering speeds of 300 KPH (185 MPH!) during qualifying this year. It's hard to believe until you see the cars fly through the first sector, like in this video. The insane cornering speed of these cars blows me away every time, and there is no better circuit to showcase it. All this footage was captured at the fastest corners of the circuit I could access, during qualifying, the 3 free practice sessions, and the actual race itself.

I was nervous to return to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit for my 6th time and 4th Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, as last year I had paddock access for FP1 and FP2 on Thursday, giving me access to the inner track where a lot of the cool spots to spectate from and see the raw speed of these cars are situated. This year I was not lucky enough to receive such a pass, so had to try my best to top my footage from a year ago with only grandstand access. I did manage to somehow reach the inner track for FP2 where I was able to film at a few spots you see in this video, but the rest of the vantage points are all accessible with a general admission or a grandstand ticket.

The security was far more strict this year than I have ever seen before, not even letting spectators stand near the fences during any of the F1 sessions (I had one security guard threaten to call the police on me because I was stood next to the fence) , so I apologise for the slight drop in quality because of that. A lot of angles have a couple more fences in the way compared to last year as I couldn't get close enough.

I also apologise for heads getting in the way/people walking in front of the camera, people were constantly going up to the catch fence (like you would at any other racetrack, but apparently thats not allowed in Jeddah now), so the security were constantly chasing after people and telling them off/making them move. If you hear any obvious, distracting background chatter that will also be the security guards, either telling me or somebody else off. Again my apologies.

I hope you enjoy the footage, regardless of some of the strange, and very anti-fan decisions made by the GP organisers this year.

This specific video was made really to just showcase the raw speed of the cars, I will make some more videos with the large amount of footage not seen in this video, like trackside highlights and maybe some car/team specific videos soon.

Tigerbear62 2025-04-12 | This is a very late video, but thought I would get it out before the 2025 Saudi GP set for a week from now. Here is a video dedicated to the two Honda powered F1 cars of the previous F1 season, the Red Bull RB20 and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls VCARB01, the former of which would take Max Verstappen to his 4th F1 championship.

The Honda power unit obviously has the signature spluttery off throttle noise, which unfortunately isn't heard too much at Jeddah, as roughly 70% of the lap at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit is taken at full throttle.

Aston Martin Vantage GTE at Le Mans - 4.0L TT V8 Sound

Tigerbear62 2025-01-28 | Here's a video on the Aston Martin Vantage from 2023, the now retired GTE car. It has somehow been 2 years since I visited Le Mans, so I had been sitting on this footage for a while before finally got around to editing it. I think I will also make a video on the Glickenhaus, Peugeot, and the 488 GTE at some point, definitely before this years Le Mans.

This turbocharged 4.0L version of the Vantage GTE from 2018 combined with it's 2012 NA V8 predecessor, holds the record for Aston Martin's most successful GT car ever, with a total of 52 race wins and 11 championships to the Vantage GTEs name. While this version definitely doesn't sound as good as the previous NA V8 Vantage, I still think it's a pretty cool car and has a cool sound. It was louder than I thought it would be, but was still the quietest GTE car at Le Mans in 2023. I miss the GTE cars, and I'm glad I went to Le Mans in when I did so I could see these amazing cars race.

The Vantage raced in a dying, shadow of it's former self GTE class in 2023, with the GTE PRO class leaving the WEC in 2022 meaning that only the GTE AM class remained in 2023. Despite GTE PRO ending in 2022, the Vantage factory efforts in GTE would cease at the end of 2020, after winning the GTE PRO class at Le Mans the same year. Despite this, the Vantage would claim victory in the GTE AM field in the 2022 24 Hours of Le Mans, and have 5 cars racing in the class for the 2023 race.

GMB Motorsport, TF Sport, D'Station Racing, Northwest AMR, and ORT by TF would be the teams running these Vantage GTEs, with 3 of these Vantage GTEs failing to finish the race. ORT by TF and Northwest AMR taking the checkered flag, with ORT actually finishing 2nd in the GTE AM class, behind Corvette Racing with their C8R GTE.

Ford Mustang GT3 Roars at Jeddah - 5.4L NA Coyote V8 Sound

Tigerbear62 2025-01-20 | The Ford Mustang GT3 debuted at the 2024 24 Hours of Daytona, after years of development and an unveiling of the car at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The car marked a return for Ford to GT racing, with their last GT car being the famous 2016 Ford GT GTE car, which retired from the WEC and IMSA in 2019, after a very successful 4 year programme. The new Mustang GT3 had big boots to fill, but has had a fairly unsuccessful first season racing in IMSA, WEC, and the GTWCE Endurance Cup. The car had pretty consistent issues with the rear bodywork/bumper flying off with the lightest of contact at the beginning of 2024, and has yet to win a race, with the Mustang GT3s best results being a podium at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans, and pole position and 2nd place finish at Virginia International Raceway in IMSA.

In Jeddah the Mustang GT3 fielded by Proton Competition and driven by Ben Barker, Christopher Mies, and Frederic Vervisch, was also not very successful, qualifying 39th out of 47 cars, and retiring from the race 4½ hours in after running at a commendable highest position of 4th.

During the autograph session I overheard Ben Barker say that the car wasn't great around Jeddah because it is so tall. It definitely wasn't the fastest car for sure, but looks great and sounds awesome.

I thought it would be quite loud, but in person its actually barely any louder than an AMG GT3. It is a great sounding NA V8 though, even if it isn't deafeningly loud. The intake also sounds awesome and cool coming towards you, overall an awesome car and Im glad I got to see it, and hope you enjoy seeing it in this video!

GT3 Cars Racing at Jeddah - GTWCE 6 Hours of Jeddah Trackside Highlights

Tigerbear62 2025-01-11 | Finally, here is the video on the 6 hours of Jeddah. I had recorded 5+ hours of footage, so with the way I decided to make the video (Including footage from the first session until the end of the race), I'm glad I was able to get it down to a reasonable length.

That's a lie, 2 hours is ridiculous and definitely unreasonable... I don't expect anyone but myself to watch the full thing.

The 6 Hours of Jeddah was announced as the final round of the 2024 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance cup in mid 2023, to a quite a lot of backlash. The series is called GTWC Europe after all, but despite this I was immediately excited and knew I would have to attend. It was a fantastic weekend, and I was able to get to some breathtaking (and at some points sketchy) vantage points around the circuit.

I'm obviously not a professional, but have been to many circuits and have some basic common sense about if something is dangerous or not. That being said I think you will be able to quite easily see which angles are the dodgy ones, which I avoided staying at long enough to truly find out. The Middle Eastern way of making a huge display of metal detectors at the entrance to give the illusion of security and safety, and then not enforcing any rules or safety precautions probably being the reason I was allowed such great access to the circuit.

The race had an entry list of 49 cars, consisting of 7 Mercedes AMG GT3 EVOs, 7 Audi R8 GT3 EVO IIs, 6 Ferrari 296 GT3s, 7 Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVOs, 6 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO IIs, 7 Porsche 992 GT3Rs, 5 BMW M4 GT3s, 3 McLaren 720s GT3 EVOs, and 1 Ford Mustang GT3.

By the end of the 6 hours, the #48 "Mann-Filter" Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO driven by Maro Engel, Lucas Auer, and Daniel Morad would secure the overall race victory, crossing the line first after 161 laps around the circuit. The #163 GRT-Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO II driven by Jordan Pepper, Marco Mapelli, and Franck Perera would finish the race in 2nd place, and the #51 AF Corse - Francorchamps Motors Ferrari 296 GT3 driven by Alessandro Pier Guidi, Alessio Rovera, and Davide Rigon, would round out the podium in 3rd place, along with taking the overall drivers championship.

1 Hour of Raw Motorsports Footage - Best of 2024

Tigerbear62 2025-01-01 | Hello, here's my final video of the year, a simple (and very long) montage of some of my favourite angles from the events I was able to attend in 2024. This is my longest video by quite a bit, but it was something relatively easy to edit for the end of the year, while I'm still working on the video for the Jeddah 6 hours.

This year I attended the 2024 F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, British GT Silverstone 500, GTWCE Sprint Cup at Brands Hatch, the British GT Finale at Brands Hatch, GT3 Legends at Silverstone, and the GTWCE 6 Hours of Jeddah, all of which are in this video, some more than others, depending on how much footage I was able to get and how good said footage was. That's why the 6 Hours of Jeddah has so many clips in this video, it's my most recent (so best) footage, and I got 5+ hours of video, so had plenty of material.

I did not realise until now, but 5 out of the 6 events I went to this year were GT3. Only when I was editing this video, did I realise "Wow this is entirely GT3 cars". I love GT3, but I think I will definitely be going to some other events next year. I'll still for sure attend the GTWCE weekend at Brands Hatch (best annual motorsports event in the UK), but also will likely do Formula 1 at Jeddah, ELMS at Silverstone, and maybe the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

I hope you enjoy this video, and all my other videos from this year. I hope to try and save up for a better camera next year (realistically for 2026), and go to as many events as possible.

Historic GT3 Cars race at Silverstone - GT3 Legends Silverstone 2024

Tigerbear62 2024-11-11 | It has been longer than I would have liked since I published a video from this event, but here is my full trackside highlights from the inaugural GT3 Legends race at Silverstone in October.

This is a new series organised by the same group of people who run the Endurance Racing Legends in collaboration with Peter Auto, but rather than having historic GT1 and LMP900 cars, this series aims to have full grids of retired GT3 cars racing again. 2006 until 2012, and up to 2015 specs is the cutoff for cars that can be entered in the series, so clearly this series is designed for early GT3 machines, as seen in the video.

The entry list actually surprised me, with a massive 27 entries. The cars included in this list were the BMW Z4 GT3, Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 (LP560 & LP600), Ferrari 458 GT3, Ferrari F430 GT3, Audi R8 LMS Ultra GT3, Porsche 997 GT3-R, Nissan GT-R GT3, McLaren MP4-12C GT3, Aston Martin DBRS9 GT3, and some oddities in the Morgan Aero Super Sport GT3 and Dodge Viper GT3.

Unfortunately a few of these 27 cars did not do any of the sessions despite being entered, and the questionable driving standards in the race taking a few extra cars out as well. Despite this it was amazing to see so many of these "historic" machines on track, many for the first time.

BMW Z4 GT3 Roars Around Silverstone - 4.4L NA V8 Sound

Tigerbear62 2024-10-20 | This weekend was an event I've been looking forward to for months, the inaugural GT3 Legends event at Silverstone Circuit. One of the cars I was most excited to see was of course there, the BMW Z4 GT3. There was a total of 5x Z4 GT3s entered to the event (I was surprised to see so many!) but one of them did not do any of the sessions.

There were two standard spec exhaust Z4s (These two cars make up the majority of the video), the white one that I believe raced in the Asian Le Mans Series and Macau GT Cup in 2014 with AAI Rstrada. The other Z4 GT3, was in a Vitaphone livery, but as far as I can tell not an authentic one, as I couldn't track it's origins down.

The two other Z4s that raced had different exhaust systems, which is why they do not appear in the video as much, as obviously I'd give my attention when filming to cars that are not muffled. There was a great red and green Demon Tweeks livery, that raced in the 2015 British GT Championship with Barwell Motorsport, that was slightly muffled, and a primarily black car that seems to have ran in the 2014 Blancpain Sprint Series with Schuberth Motorsport, that was totally silenced.

It was great to finally see this car in person, and was probably the best sounding and loudest GT3 car Ive ever heard, and definitely the loudest on track on Saturday.

I will get to editing the rest of my footage from the weekend soon, and make a video on the event as a whole and maybe some other specific cars.

GT3 Cars at British GT Finale - British GT Brands Hatch Trackside Highlights

Tigerbear62 2024-10-04 | Last weekend I was able to attend race-day of the finale of the British GT season at Brands Hatch (Albeit very last minute). It was a 2 hour race, with Josh Caygill and Alex Buncome claiming victory with a McLaren 720S GT3 EVO of Team RJN. But with it being the last race of the season, more importantly Rob and Ricky Collard would win the championship in their Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO 2 belonging to Barwell Motorsports, despite finishing 5th in the race.

I attended the Silverstone 500 earlier in the year, also a part of the British GT championship, which I definitely preferred but both were fun. There was clearly a smaller grid compared to Silverstone (especially GT3 wise), which is a given due to the guest cars at that round, but a few cars were definitely missing from the full season grid. 2 Seas Motorsport were the most obvious loss from the grid, having recently switched from their Mercedes AMG GT3 EVO in the awesome retro inspired D2 livery to a Porsche 992 GT3R also adorned in an amazing retro livery. Porsche is sorely missed from the British GT championship, so while its good they will be participating next year, it is unfortunate that 2 Seas Motorsport skipped this Brands Hatch round to presumably save mileage on their new car.

I would like to apologise for some of the audio problems in this video, my microphone has been acting weirdly since the Silverstone 500 in April and the terrible weather that day. The audio problems weren't bad enough to completely omit footage from the video (Which I had to do for the Silverstone 500 video), but are very frustrating, especially due to them happening at crucial moments like the race start.

Tigerbear62 2024-09-17 | Last year the Jeddah corniche circuit actually got used between the 2023 and 2024 F1 Grand Prix. The organisers seem to just want to put on any event in November/Winter time at the circuit, with WTCR doing a championship round in 2022, and the upcoming GTWCE Endurance Round in the exact same end of November slot this year.

In 2023 this end of November slot was filled by the "Ferrari Festival", a bit of a mini Ferrari Corse Clienti. This event had a single FXX Evo, FXX-K Evo, 599XX Evo, and 488 Challenge Evo, alongside the two main draw points, two Ferrari 499P Hypercars, the car which won Le Mans in 2023, and two Ferrari SF71H, which took part in and challenged for the 2018 F1 World Championship.

The other large drawing point of the event was who was driving the two Formula 1 cars, the current Ferrari driver lineup, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. They put on a good show racing each other throughout the shortened layout of the circuit, doing race starts on the grid, and donuts in tandem at the end of the day.

While it was a great event with some very nice cars on track, the reason I have sat on this footage for almost a year before uploading it is because of the lack of any angles (They only let you spectate from the pit straight), and the stupid loud music on the pit straight. The turn 1 angle you see in the video didn't have anything to outline you couldn't go there, but I still got told to leave by security and that's why I didn't capture footage of some of the cars there. This makes the loud music on the pit straight even worse as it is the only place you were allowed to spectate from, despite this circuit having the most corners of any circuit on the F1 calendar. I also unfortunately had to leave early on the first day (the day with the 499P showcase), which is why there is so little footage of the Ferrari 499P.

I thought I would upload this footage anyway as it has just been collecting dust, so I can only apologise for the lack of any good angles and the loud music, I just hope the organisers learn from these mistakes for future non F1 events, particularly for the GTWCE round in November this year which I am very excited for.

GT3 Cars at Brands Hatch - GTWCE Sprint Cup Trackside Highlights

Tigerbear62 2024-08-20 | In May this year, GT3 cars raced around the Brands Hatch circuit as they have done annually since 2014, when this series was known as the Blancpain GT Series. Brands Hatch hosts the first round of the Sprint Cup, with two 1 hour races and less cars, in comparison to the Endurance Cup's single 3 hour race, and larger entry list.

Emil Frey Racing were on pole with Ben Green and Konsta Lappalainen's Ferrari 296 GT3, but finished second in the race behind Dries Vanthoor and Charles Weerts, of course driving the BMW M4 GT3 of Team WRT. The Winward Racing "Mann Filter" Mercedes AMG GT3 driven by Maro Engel and Lucas Auer converted their pole position into a victory in race 2, finishing 2 seconds ahead of the Emil Frey Racing Ferrari 296 GT3 of Giacomo Altoe and Thierry Vermeulen.

I attended the race day only, as unfortunately I was unable to attend practice and qualifying on Saturday. Despite that it was a great event, definitely one of the best (if not the best) racing event held in the UK. There are other places to see GT3 cars in Britain, but with the drawbacks of smaller grids, exhaust muffling (looking at you British GT), and quite terrible amateur drivers. At GTWCE you don't typically don't get those things, and it's great.

Full Centenary Parade - Le Mans 2023

Tigerbear62 2024-08-05 | Here is a video from Le Mans last year, showcasing the different cars that ran on track as a part of the 100th anniversary celebrations. There was a large display of Le Mans History on Friday, the day before the race, where you can see all of the cars lining up in the classic Le Mans style start position on the main straight, before individually leaving the grid. Before the race on Saturday there was another centenary celebration, where you can see all the cars driving a couple of laps of the circuit together ahead of the start of the actual 91st edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

There was an amazing group of historic and famous cars all together, including 60s and 70s legends like the Ford GT40 and Porsche 917, Group C icons like the Mazda 787B, Porsche 962, and Jaguar XJR-9, late 90s - early 2000s prototypes like the Audi R8 LMP, Bentley Speed 8, and BMW V12 LMR, along with more modern LMP1 machines like the Audi R18 and Toyota TS050, all on track together.

GT3 cars around Silverstone Circuit - Silverstone 500 2024 Trackside Highlights

Tigerbear62 2024-07-27 | After a bit of a break, here is some new footage I recorded earlier this year. This was my first time at the Silverstone 500, and at British GT event. It was a very cold and wet day, which while a bit miserable standing trackside, always produces cool footage.

The Silverstone 500 is a 3 hour endurance race, part of the British GT championship, which races all over the UK and it's different circuits. It is multiclass between GT3 and GT4 cars, with the 500 being the highlight of the season. This year the Silverstone 500 was contested by 43 cars across the 2 different classes, 24 of them being GT3. GT3 was represented by Mercedes, McLaren, BMW, Audi, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin cars, with a Ferrari 296 also being entered, but withdrawing after a supposed technical failure on the Saturday.

Adam Smalley and Shaun Balfe claimed the race victory in a McLaren 720s GT3 EVO with Garage 59, being in contention from the start of the race, but solidifying their 1st place finish after Jann Mardenborough and Marcus Clutton crashed, relinquishing the lead.

The true speed of an F1 car - Jeddah Corniche Circuit

Tigerbear62 2024-03-11 | Here we have the first proper video from the footage I got at the recent F1 weekend in Jeddah. I have been to the Grand Prix in 2021 and 2022, but only in a grandstand and never really with the mindset to properly look around the track and see the different corners. I was pleasantly surprised with a lot of the viewing points, as for a street track there is very good access to the track. The very fast first sector (cars are cornering at 250 KPH +) has access to almost every corner, which is where most of this footage was captured during the qualifying and free practice sessions.

Although because Jeddah is a street circuit, there are many many fences obscuring the different views, so angles with only one fence in the way (1st angle for example) were hard to come by, and often had recovery vehicles with the engines running on standby in the background. I apologise for the fences being in the way, my camera's focus has never worked how I want it to, so in the angles with visible fences the cars/track may look blurry and out of focus in static angles.

This video is mostly trying to showcase the speed of these cars with very specific angles to do so, so I will definitely upload some more videos on specific cars using other footage not seen in this video.

Porsche 963 LMDh racing at Le Mans - 4.6L V8 TT Sound

Tigerbear62 2023-11-28 | Here is a video on the Porsche 963 LMDh. Porsche is definitely one of the most important and successful brands in endurance and prototype racing, having an astonishing track record in both GT and Le Mans Prototype categories, with cars like the 919 Hybrid, the dominant 956 and 962 Group C machines, the 911 RSR, and the different 917 variants. This gives this Porsche 963, a very high standard and important legacy to live up to, especially with the name indicating the car as a successor to the famous Porsche 962.

Porsche obviously did not do too well in the Hypercar class at Le Mans this year, with the highest finishing 963 being the No. 5, finishing in 9th, despite 4 of the Porsche LMDh machines starting the race. 3 of these entries were fielded by the factory efforts of Porsche Penske motorsport, with an extra, single, privateer entry being run by Hertz Team Jota.

While I think this Porsche 963 is definitely one of the best looking current top class Le Mans Prototypes, the sound is definitely disappointing. The car is very quiet, with a fairly standard sound we would come to expect from a turbocharged V8. While this car may not be as quiet as say, the new Ferrari 296 GT3, it is definitely the quietest in the Hypercar class.

Sorry for the video going out of focus at points, and focusing on fences and heads... Also for the frame rate dipping at certain points in night footage, because of the low exposure.
