Mexico Has Changed Some Policies Regarding the Amnesty Program | How Do I Get Mexican Residency Now?

Savvy Souljar Abroad 2025-03-15 | The Mexican regularization program {amnesty program) was a game changer for some of us who took advantage of its benefits while it was available. It was a way to get residency in Mexico with proving solvency. But they never told us the RNE program would last forever. As a matter of fact, we were encouraged to get it, while the getting was good. And now it seems to have come to a close. I recently received a notification from my attorney informing us that the regularization program (amnesty program) has practically culminated. Individuals wanting residency in Mexico will now have to apply through the consulate abroad.

Lakeside Chapala and Ajijic's festive Carnaval displayed plenty of revelry that could be heard all along the lake. The "farewell to flesh" is a tradition of raucous and public carousing that is common place during this event that precedes six weeks of solemn Lenten fasting and penitence. And the participants in this parade did not disappoint. It was a high-spirited parade with plenty of mal humor to entertain the spectators of all ages.
