The whole song writing process on these three songs was basically like writing a diary, and as our relationship progressed so did the songs I was writing. Like Collide and Falling, there was a couple of significant moments that made this song what it was. When David and i didn't live together I lived about 3 hours away in a little town in Somerset. I remember one day David asked in a text where I'd like to be at 30 and of course my mind jumped to us having a family and living in a little house together. But then I started thinking 'I wonder if he'll even think of me at 30'. You see at this point we were only 2 or 3 months into the relationship and life could have had other plans for the both of us, I didnt want it too of course, but I knew I was a keen little bean and his feelings could have been a billion miles behind mine. So I sat down and I started writing Home. The first line I wrote was 'Are we crazy, to talk about our hopes for when we're 30? Sometimes I wonder if you'll think of me'.After that line was written everything just flowed. I remembered thinking how from the second we met I felt like I knew him already. Which at the time didn't make much sense because in reality he was almost a stranger, but there was this undeniable feeling of familiarity, it was like I had known him before. And i think its pretty obvious by the title what story this song tells. So instead of telling you the meaning of the lyrics, let me tell you the events leading up to the song. On the 11th of February 2015 we went on our second date. I remember I drove two hours to Davids house and told him I’d planned out a surprise date (I clearly didn’t know how to play it cool). We spent the afternoon at a GoKart track which i kicked his butt at btw and i remember so clearly that i freaked out when he held my hand as we left.A couple of days after that my mum told me something was in the post for me, i opened it to find David had written me a letter. This way this channel can be a collective of different types of videos, from music to try on videos to make up to challenges. I feel like by doing this i won't feel as much pressure to constantly put out new covers just to keep my music channel active. Now i can post the covers I like and take time over them instead of rushing and panicking. I hope you don't mind! If anything it just means you'll get more videos and i'll be much happier, so thats good right? Let me know what you think about having music on this channel.
