This video shows how to setup an XBOX Controller (or the like) in Blender so you can control movements of objects!11foot8 Bridge Forensic Speed Analysis - Scan Data - Reverse Projection Photogrammetry #11foot8ScanningCars2021-12-03 | In this video I use the meshed 3d Scan Data I got in my previous video using a Faro X130 3d scanner to estimate the speed of the pickup towing a 5th wheel camper in Crash# 158 from September 2020. I use the technique Reverse Projection Photogrammetry. Meshlab is used to estimate the camera's position and orientation and to project the data onto the meshed 3d scan data. Rhino3d is used to measure the positions of the truck. I use the video editing features in Blender to step through and render out frames from the video, and Krita to do some simple photo editing.
#11foot83D Scanning, Modeling, Animating and Printing a Concrete Mixer TruckScanningCars2021-11-17 | In this video I use a Faro X130 to 3d scan a Concrete Mixer Truck. The truck is a late model Housby Concrete Mixer Truck on Mack chassis from Eagle Rock Concrete close to Raleigh, NC After registering the scans In Faro Scene I then take the data and mesh it using code I wrote in Python using Pymeshlab and Pandas. Next, I use Rhino and Blender to model the truck so I can then put it in an animation using a pedestrian I created using MakeHuman and a walk cycle from Mixamo. The rigging and keyframes for the truck are from some path and speed following code I wrote. The scene I used is the Canopener or 11foot8 12foot4 scene I scanned in my last video. Last I process the parts further and 3d print an accurate 1:32nd scale model of the truck. I used Chitubox to slice, standard grey resin, and a Phrozen Sonic Mini 4k 3d printer. The drum was printed on an FDM printer with Grey PLA, the tires also on a (direct drive) FDM printer with "PNEUMATIQUE RECYCLED RUBBER FLEXIBLE FILAMENT"
#3dprinting #3dscanning11foot8 Canopener bridge 3d Scanned, Measured, and Animated #11foot8 #11foot8+8ScanningCars2021-08-29 | This video shows how I 3d scanned the infamous 11foot8 bridge in Durham, NC (bridge is now 12 Foot 4). I scanned it with a Faro X130 3d scanner at 1/5 resolution, 3x quality and with color. After processing the scans in FARO SCENE I then put it through a custom process that meshes the entire scene written in python using the pymeshlab and pandas libraries. In Rhino 3d I measured the clearances of the crash beam, bridge and warning sensor to see how conservative 12 foot 4 actually is. Finally, I put together a quick animation in Blender to reconstruct a hypothetical accident and to show how the scene works for an overheight vehicle.
The scene is available on Gumroad for $10 - this does not include the truck, but does include the empties the wheels and body were parented to.
