Days 6 & 7 - The Great American Monkey 1000. Blanding, Utah to Camp Remington to Hanksville, Utah MiniBike Mike’s Garage 2025-10-25 | Days 6 & 7, of the GAM1000. After riding thru four days of strenuous trails, it was nice to have something less technical for the final few days. At the end of Day 6, we tent camp and participate in our first GAM1000 coin striking ceremony. The ride into Hanksville, on the final day, is mostly paved and other than a viscous wind, was uneventful. Thanks to my teammates: Johnny, Stuart, John and Patrick for joining me on this journey.
Day 5 - Great American Monkey 1000. Monticello, UT to Blanding, UT MiniBike Mike’s Garage 2025-10-21 | The ride from Monticello to Blanding was rather short, less than 3 hours. Not much to film along the way. The first half of video is ride footage, the second half is an assessment walk around of how my bike is holding up. Day 4 - Great American Monkey 1000. Moab, Utah to Monticello, Utah MiniBike Mike’s Garage 2025-10-16 | Day 4 of the Great American Monkey 1000. We tackle Lockhart Basin……and succeed! It took a lot of teamwork and sheer determination, but we completed the 98 mile journey from Moab to Monticello, UT. Thanks to Stuart Appleton for the music.
Day 3 - Great American Monkey 1000. Thompson Springs, Utah to Moab, Utah MiniBike Mike’s Garage 2025-10-13 | On Day 3 of the GAM1000, we were making really good time, to start the day. We forged thru hundreds of prairie dog holes, ant hills and short shrubbery to reach the pavement of 128 before lunch. We made a questionable decision to try to ride our underpowered bikes to “Top of the World”. We ultimately did not make the summit, but gave it a great try. This journey took so much time, we had to cut the rest of our day short and head into Moab. The best part of the day…..our teammate John met us for dinner. Music by: RockStarJohnny
Day 2 - Great American Monkey 1000. Green River, Utah to Thompson Springs, Utah MiniBike Mike’s Garage 2025-10-10 | Day 2 of the GAM1000 had us traveling from Green River to Thompson Springs. Shortly after heading out, we encountered the toughest obstacle of the day, a rather steep incline, that was both rutted and soft soil. We had to resort to walking/pushing the bikes up the last part and it was exhausting.
