Nate Willis 2024-12-25 | Hey guys, Merry Christmas!I really wanted to try to have SOME sort of special video out for Christmas, but I wasn't really sure what to do, until I came up with this video idea that I knew I'd be able to get out in time!To make a long story short, I was watching YouTube videos when I just... suddenly got the idea to have ChatGPT generate me some humorous Christmas-themed lyrics, in the style of a metal song, and the results it gave me were so bad that I thought it would be funny to write an actual metal song around them.In this video, I go over my process of actually writing the song (remember, just because I had AI generate some crappy lyrics for me doesn't mean it actually wrote the SONG. I still had to write all the actual music; vocal melodies, riffs, leads, chords, by myself, and record them myself. Bury Me Alive - A Silent Hill 2 Song (OG+SH2Remake) | MUSIC VIDEO Nate Willis 2024-10-31 | This project has been like two months in the making!I started recording this song before the Silent Hill 2 Remake came out, with the intention of writing it based around the original game's plot, and then putting it out to coincide with the release of the remake, so that way, the lyrics of the song can apply to either version of the game, in case it would end up sucking like most people thought at the time. Luckily, the remake is out now (it has been for a little bit), and it turned out to be pretty good! So while the music video uses footage from the remake's gameplay and trailers, the song can still apply to the original game if you don't like the remake.This was originally gonna be a somewhat smaller project. I originally planned on having it out in early October, right after the release of the remake. However, while the song itself was ready by then, I hadn't even started filming the video yet (mostly because of people's schedules not lining up, among other things). Filming and editing the music video took a little bit of time, but luckily, it's completed now, and I'm mostly content with the final product!Unsurprisingly, this isn't a metal song. I decided to go with more of a post-grunge direction for this one (think bands like Daughtry), while trying to maintain a similar mood and energy to Akira Yamaoka's legendary compositions. I also recorded all the guitars myself this time, without using any MIDI guitar... Distortions of a Ruined Life - A Marble Hornets Song | LYRIC VIDEO Nate Willis 2023-12-26 | Hey, so... how do I even begin this description?This past month has been very rough for me; I've had a relapse of some health issues I was dealing with over a year ago, my Dad has been away from home for medical reasons, and of course there's always the stress of the holiday season.However, I finished recording this song back before I had my relapse, and as such, I decided to finally finish up the lyric video for it, and release it as sorta a late Christmas present for you guys!I've been a fan of Marble Hornets for a few years now (enough so that I made my own webseries inspired by it back in the summer of 2017; it was an embarrassingly and hilariously bad ripoff). However, I couldn't help but notice that nobody has really made any rock or metal songs inspired by the old webseries yet (or if someone has, I haven't seen it). So, similarly to how the show's concept was originally born, I decided to do it myself!As per usual, I used my actual guitar for the rhythm guitar parts, and used a realistic simulated guitar VST plugin (specifically Ample Metal Eclipse) for the leads and the guitar solo.This song has a lot of screaming parts, and since my attempts at screaming are pretty bad (and quite frankly, unsafe), I decided to enlist the help of an internet acquaintance of mine: Lee!He's a professional metal vocalist, and he's available on Fiverr for anybody who needs harsh vocals recorded on a budget!Lee did a really good job in this song, and I've also got some other material I recorded featuring him, so stay tuned for that, hopefully in the near future...Unfortunately, YouTube will not let me include a link to Lee's Fiverr page since my channel isn't currently verified as of when this is being written (I've literally tried to upload this video twice now with the link included, it will not let me...). The game is admittedly a little hard but the setting, tone, gameplay, and everything else make it worth it. I've been busy with some personal stuff so I haven't been able to record many videos recently but this is a project I finally finished so... here it is!Citizen Soldier is one of my current favorite bands (you might be able to guess that from all the reactions I've been doing to their music), and one of my favorite songs from their recent album, Scarecrow, is this one! So, I decided to cover it. Fade Away - A Binding of Isaac Song | LYRIC VIDEO Nate Willis 2023-04-25 | So... this was unexpected, huh?I played Binding of Isaac on the channel once a while ago and while I'm not the most avid fan of the game, I've always had a deep appreciation for the actual story and plot of it.It's pretty well known that the backstory of Binding of Isaac is a sad, tragic story of abuse, domestic problems, and definitely some mental illness and even some bullying thrown in there as well.As a result, obviously I should probably put the usual warning here that this song heavily deals with those topics and if you're sensitive to them... well, please proceed with caution.
