Not gonna lie, i'm sick & tired of anti-wokeness.
In this video i discuss why i have grown tired of hearing the anti-woke comments regarding woke movies and games. While i can agree that the toxic wokeness exists in form of movies, games and developers who have clear anti-white and anti-male views. However, i think that it has contributed to the paranoid anti-woke mentality where every game or movie that has black characters or other non-white characters or LGBT characters as woke.
Many of those comments are ridiculous and going by the standards of what can be considered woke by those who support anti-wokeness, many movies from 30 and 40 years ago could be considered woke, long before the term "woke" existed. At the same time, many of them want things to go back to the way they were, not realising that many releases from the 80s and 90s could be wrongly considered woke these days.
In this video i offer an example of Alien Romulus, which some claim is woke because it has a black character, an android named Andy (played by David Jonsson) and a female protagonist, Rain (played by Cailee Spaeny). The claim that Alien Romulus is woke makes no sense since every single Alien movie had a female protagonist. Ellen Ripley (played by Sigourney Weaver) from the first four Alien movies is considered a beloved and legendary character. Not to mention that all the movies in the Alien franchise had at least one black character. If Aliens came out today, that movie would be considered woke by today's standards
Anti-wokeness thrives on negativity. The abnormal focus on DEI is not healthy and in my opinion, neither woke nor anti-woke people are able to enjoy anything because everything has to pander to their ideology.
The Silent Hill 2 Remake has met a lot of backlash this year, even before its release for being woke and made for the modern audiences, according to several journalists and Youtubers such as Melonie Mac Go Boom. SIlent Hill 2 Remake has received very positive feedback from fans and critics alike. The right, by focusing so much on the woke agenda, might be assigning too much to the term "made for modern audience". For many of us it simply means that a game has been graphically and mechanically enhanced to appeal to modern audiences. I know several people who never got into older Silent Hill and Resident Evil games because of the tank controls.
