I fired up my Universal diesel on my 2001 Catalina 310 expecting a smooth run… but something immediately felt off.

The engine starts. It sounds strong.
But there’s no water coming out of the exhaust.

No sputter. No drip. Nothing.

If you know boats, you know that’s not something you ignore.

I checked the obvious. Looked over the system. Tried to think it through… but I couldn’t figure it out on the spot.

So now I’m left with a question:

👉 What would cause an engine to run perfectly… but not push out any cooling water?
