Lipid Bilayer (Cell Membrane) Modeling & Animation : Tutorial Ragdoll Studio LLC 2017-03-29 | This tutorial shows the process of creating a lipid bilayer in 3DS Max. A lipid bilayer is the thin polar membrane that surrounds all cells.We will create an individual lipid and then copy them such that they form a continuous structure. We'll then apply a wave spacewarp to achieve the motion of a cell in liquid. We'll add a few structures including a protein channel and glycoproteins. We will use particle flow to animate the red blood cells traveling along the vessel.We will also create some simple materials for the vessel, blood cells and platelets.The tools we'll be using in 3DS Max are particle flow, super spray, path follow and speed by icon among others.Note: If your red blood cells are too jittery, you can reduce or eliminate "Keep Apart" from the particle flow. Create Impact Craters in 3DS Max Part 1 : Tutorial Ragdoll Studio LLC 2015-11-10 | In this tutorial, we'll discuss how you can create multiple successive impact craters using 3DS Max, Zbrush and After Effects. We'll be using the morpher, displacement and point cache modifiers, particle flow and animated materials. Because we'll be using particle flow to create the crater displacement, you could very easily begin your particle flow with meteorites or debris causing the impact. We don't cover that in this lesson, however the process simply requires that you set up a planar collider and, when the meteorite particles contact the collider, they're replaced by the crater alpha. As long as the size of the emitter plane remains the same, the meteorite particles will appear to result in impact craters.
