Following the confirmation that next week’s Nintendo Direct will be a Partner Showcase, I checked around to see if Nintendo truly planned to leave things there — and what I saw suggests something much bigger is coming next.
Multiple sources are now pointing toward a full General Nintendo Direct happening soon, potentially as early as late February or sometime in March. And more importantly, this rumored Direct isn’t small — it’s reportedly where Nintendo plans to finally show off its big first-party titles for the year.
According to what insiders are hearing:
A General Nintendo Direct is planned after the Partner Showcase
Nintendo’s big game for the year is expected to be revealed
3D Mario is reportedly part of that lineup
A Monolith Soft project is also said to be involved
Timing currently points to late February or March, with some discussion around Mario Day
