Nikko Waraku Odori (日光和楽踊) is an annual folk dance festival held in the town of Kiyotaki in Yochigi prefecture, which is in the Nikko region of Japan. It commemorates the visit of the Emperor and Empress to the Nikko Copper Refinery (now the Furukawa Electric Company) in 1913.
Anyone can participate, so the dancers include groups that have practiced for the event, children who are just learning the steps, as well as locals and tourists who just want to try.
Durig the late afternoon, there was a performance by young musicians and dancers.
I shot the video on 4 August 2023 using a Fujifilm XT-5, Fujifilm X100T and iPhone.
