Autumn has arrived so suddenly (dont't you think?) and with it I’ve been really ill. 🤕 It’s been a tough journey tbh for a good few weeks, almost a dark night of the soul experience. I feel like a lot has changed for me and in this video I hope to try and explain things as I literally feel forever changed. Mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually. The Unexpected Gypsy 2024-09-29 | ✨How I changed my life 90 days (& you can too) I changed my eating habits to healthy ones, aimed for sobriety and then gave up alcohol, lost weight as part of the process, eliminated caffienated coffee and ultra processed foods, made additions of specific supplements, decluttered my house and studio, organised everything, found new storage solutions. I've basically let my stuff go on every level; emotional baggage, sad memories, grief, as-well-as lots of physical clutter too. I have stayed the course on this quest and now feel lighter, brighter, have loads more energy and a much more uplifted outlook on life. (Which is saying alot right now with the current state of things!) My ulterior motive for posting this video is to encourage you that if I can do it, you can do it too... You are not alone on your quest to become the best version of yourself!

The Power of Letting Go; stuff, weight, the past, people, comparisons...

The Unexpected Gypsy 2024-09-01 | ✨It's Time to make a start, yes it is... The Power to Let it all Go ~ stuff, weight, the past, (even) people, let them go, comparisons, guilt, other people's opinions... I'm letting go on so many levels atm, an early autumn release of my leaves! My deep decluttering is in process, James has helped with some diy and also helps keep me motivated when I become overwhelmed. I have found some wonderful storage solutions to organize all my art supplies and cleaned up my studio as I have gone along. I have also been doing the same at home! As well as letting go of a lot of my stuff, I have also changed my diet, letting go of ultra processed foods, caffiene, alcohol and have been losing some weight on this journey too. With new eating habits, I feel energized, reset, restored and have a much lighter and positive outlook these days. Clearing my clutter from my spaces (and my body!) has been challenging, an emotional process and a lot of hard dusty work some days too. But, I am so happy I am doing it; mind, body, rooms and soul! I am not finished yet, just a work in progress like everyone else.

Working on things I need to change

The Unexpected Gypsy 2024-07-21 | Working on things I need to change, cleaning out our dusty corners, physically, mentally, emotionally. Reset healthy eating and good diet habits as well as literally sweeping all my dusty corners in my spaces. Rearrange my studio with me, do some art journaling to process and make big transformations. I want to optimise my storage and organisation of all my art supplies and studio furniture as well as do a declutter & detail clean. And, at the same time as removing all the dust and cobwebs, I am shifting my mindset and habits. It's a truly theraputic process!

I think, in fact I know, adults also need time for hobbies and play. When we take art too seriously, it can feel like such a struggle but when we lose ourselves in the creative flow and allow ourselves to explore & experiment with our art supplies; we can enjoy the process so much more. I truly believe art can heal the soul as we operate both sides of our brain to practise skills but also, when we find our flow, that's when the magic happens. Lots of art process in this video and big disclaimer ~ I am a watercolour beginner and by no means an expert! Finding purpose at any age and reinventing ourselves is scary at any age. But, starting over later in life, after 40, 50, 60, 70 and beyond is entirely possible. Living life without regret! Many of us fail to start anything new because we feel it’s too late to start over. Do we feel it’s too late to start and that we are too old now to even bother! I believe it’s never too late to create your best life and start living it. I achieved success being an artist in my 50s after starting over in my 40s. Whether it’s starting a new hobby, learning how to draw, paint, revisiting an old passion or creating material success, it’s absolutely doable. It’s also very beneficial for our health; physical, mental,spiritual and psychological. Growing older is a gift and can open up time for us to do the things we have always wanted to do, so I say, go for it! Now’s the time! I’m also sharing my own personal story in this video from being a single mum, college and art school later in life and completely restarting my life after 40. Now in my 50s I have created the life I always dreamed of living! It’s by no means perfect and still bumpy at times, but it happened only after I took some risks and took a few leaps of faith! Living life now on my own terms makes me feel truly blessed and I want to inspire and cheer you on to do the same. (Even in the smallest of ways!)

I had a car mishap | Counting Blessings

The Unexpected Gypsy 2024-02-04 | I didn't know where to start in making this video as I really didn't want to come here with such horrid news but if you've been here a while, you will know I do like to share the downs as-well-as the ups... So, I had a car accident a few weeks ago. This is what happened and how and what I'm doing to softly heal after my mishap. We have had floods, I'm decorating my Christmas tree, visiting cosy cafés, book shops, vintage shopping, antiques as well as painting guardian angels and fairies. All the areas around where we live flooded as it had been raining so hard and so much lately. Some roads were completely impassable. I managed some studio and art time though, playing with guardian angel art and fairy paper dolls! I also share how I manage any overwhelm with one simple technique. Easy & doable!
