New Super Mario Bros. 2 Deserves More Love
When people talk about 2D Mario games, the conversation usually revolves around classics like Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, or more recently Super Mario Wonder.
But New Super Mario Bros. 2 often gets overlooked.
Released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2012, the game may not have reinvented the formula, but it delivered some of the tightest platforming in the entire New Super Mario Bros. series. The coin-focused gameplay gimmick was unique, the level design was excellent, and the game sold millions of copies despite rarely being mentioned today.
Was it revolutionary? No.
Was it a fantastic Mario game? Absolutely.
Sometimes being “more Mario” is enough—and New Super Mario Bros. 2 is a great example of that. with @Age_of_Retro
