Talking Tech is at #CES2026 checking out the newly released AI Playground 3.0, which shows off the local, on-chip AI capabilities baked right into Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors codenamed Panther Lake. Intel Director of Consumer AI Bob Duffy demonstrates several new features found in the open source program, including a new vision mode that can analyze and give answers and insight about images provided by the user. A new agentic multi-modal tool allows text chat, vision chat, and image generation withing a single discussion window, making it more similar to the interfaces found in many other online AI tools.
AI Playground is free and available on all Intel AI PCs with an Intel Core Ultra processor with built-in Intel Arc GPU or an Intel Arc discrete GPU with at least 8GB of vRAM. Download it at game.intel.com/us/stories/introducing-ai-playground
