2024 FCIATS - Superior Livestock Value Added Programs UF/IFAS Range Cattle Research and Education Center 2024-02-02 | Clay Murray with Superior Livestock speaks at the 41st Annual Florida Cattlemen's Institute and Allied Trade Show held 1/24/24 in Okeechobee, FL. Clay was raised in a veterinary practice in Dickens Co, Texas, graduated from Texas Tech went on to work in association management with the Texas Thoroughbred Association, the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the National Cutting Horse Association before start striking out on his own. Spur Mercantile was founded in the Fort Worth Stockyards in 2004 with a focus on sales and marketing in agriculture and specifically, livestock. Today, he dedicates his time primarily to marketing cattle that are featured in the program section of the auction with Superior Livestock. Recently, he surpassed Superior’s 100,000 hd sold mark as a representative. In addition to marketing cattle for clients from Alpine to Stratford and Woodward to Fort Worth, he also buys cattle for backgrounders and feedyards in the Panhandle and Oklahoma.
