The C2C conflict to coexistence approach provides a framework and methodology through which a tailor made human wildlife conflict management strategy can be developed in a holistic way based on the local cultural, environmental and social contexts and as an integrated system connecting various management actions.

Global Declaration for River Dolphins: historic agreement in Colombia WWF International - Discover more 2023-12-12 | 11 countries from Asia and South America signed the historic Global Declaration for River Dolphins in Colombia on October 24th, 2023. Representing 80% of all river dolphin range state governments, they agreed to take action to safeguard their river dolphins and enhance the health of their rivers. Initiated and driven by WWF's River Dolphin Rivers initiative, the Declaration incorporates 8 pillars, including creating a network of protected areas, expanding research and monitoring, working closely with communities, eradicating unsustainable fishing practices, and improving the quantity and quality of the water in their rivers. The event also saw the launch of the Global Coalition for River Dolphins with 21 civil society members as well as support from Indigenous Peoples, private sector and investors.

This short film showcases the impact of dam removals - a fast, proven, and cost-effective solution - and the growth of the dam removal movement in Europe, inspired by WWF and partners. Over 5000 barriers - from giant hydropower dams to weirs - have been removed helping to build resilience and bring life back to dying rivers - from Finland to France, UK to Ukraine. But we urgently need to scale up dam removals to restore rivers and help societies adapt to climate change, and reverse the loss of freshwater species populations - which have plunged by 83% on average since 1970.This video shows how it can be done - highlighting the benefits of dam removals to people and nature, and the growing collaboration between governments, companies, NGOs and communities.
