Navajo Language Sign Unveiling at College of Veterinary Medicine

On October 22, 2025, the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine and the Navajo Nation unveiled a new campus sign in Oro Valley featuring Diné Bizaad (Navajo language). Created in partnership with the Office of Native American Advancement and Tribal Engagement and the Department of Linguistics, the sign honors the Navajo Nation and reflects the university’s commitment to inclusion, representation, and respect for Indigenous cultures whose ancestral lands encompass the Southwest.
