Teams from across the country are competing for $500,000 to see who can successfully create specialized human organ tissue in a lab environment.
NASA's Vascular Tissue Challenge is offering a prize to the first team who can produce technologies capable of creating viable thick metabolic tissues that can be used to advance research on human physiology, fundamental space biology, and medicine taking place both on the Earth and the ISS National Laboratory.
