Swimming Pool build Project finished, what I chose to filter, heat and treat the water Robin Clevett 2024-04-12 | My swimming pool build has been completed and running for nearly a year, in this video I talk about my design of the pool and its building, how the water is filtered, heated and how the chemicals keep the water perfectly clear and cleanMy plan was to create a pool that was economical to run and simple to operate with out the need for a service visit by an external contractorI use an Inverter heat Pump to heat the water and this has been really good it has no problem even in the really cold weather to keep the pool to a perfect temperatureI have a decent pump and filter using glass media and this is also so good at filtering the waterThe chemical dosing machine is probably my favourite piece of kit, it was an expensive consideration but, it is absolutely brilliant at keeping the levels exactly correct. More important to me is the fact the water is always safe and exactly balancedThe air handling is a Dehumidifying unit that also heats the room (care should be taken in the building design to size the unit correctly and in many cases a different type of ventilation system my be needed please take advice!)I have LED underwater lights that are colour change and programmable these are by CertikinI run the pool pump for 10 hours a day and the heat pump and the dosing unit only operate while the Pump is running all timed by simple timersThe Chlorine levels I keep at 1ppmThe PH always stays set to 7.4The heat Pump is 19KW modelThe pool volume is 28000 ltrsThe pool size is 6m long 4m wide and 1.2m deepHere is a link to the supplier that helped me design and specify the kit that I needed to create the poolgeni.us/poolplantLike the Video? How to make a Ladder simple on-site carpentry and joinery Robin Clevett 2024-04-07 | I am Making a ladder for my Mezzanine area in the garden room. I used some nice joinery grade softwood from my local supplier and set about making the ladder. Using roof rafter setting out techniques I laid out the housings in the stiles or strings and then using my roofing square I used a small circular saw to make the cuts very quickly, then it was onto moulding the edges and the tread material before chopping out the housings with a chisel and then flattened with my bearing guided router cutter that I use on my hinge jigsThe assembly was easy using wood glue and 50mm stainless steel 18g brad nails followed by secret screwing the treads with 60mm trim screws The new ladder hooked over my apron lining really nicely and I am super pleased with itCost of material £85.00 including VAT And about 5 hours to make it, (would have been less but I was also filming for myself!!!)Like the Video?
