Something different in the studio this week Nitsa Creative Studio 2024-10-14 | In this video we are going to see how we can get out of our color comfort zone and use colors we often don't choose to use when painting our photo or image transfer art. This week I transfer my photo to a wood panel and paint it using neutral colors acrylic paints. The results was great and I enjoyed every minute of it. I would like to use text or type as the background for our artwork. And I think I am going to use photo transfer. There’s something about the combination of images and text that I really love. And I’m sure I’m not the only one. I was also thinking about the influence that text can have in the way the artwork appears. I'm not so much interested in using the text as a message or anything like that, so I don’t need it to be readable, although it’s just fine if it is. How we can paint our photos Nitsa Creative Studio 2024-08-19 | Today we are going to make 3 photo transfers on wood. We will paint our first photo with watercolors. The 2nd one will be painted with acrylics. And the 3rd one is not going to be painted at all. This way we will be able to see which one we like best. Bottom line, paint whatever you want, what you like and however you want to paint. This mixed media process is awesome! But obviously you can use this process to print on many other surfaces, not just your journal. You can actually transfer to so many other surfaces, like wood, canvas, fabric and even glass! The oils that work best for image transfer are: Eucalyptus, lemon, orange, wintergreen, lavender, citrus, lemongrass, peppermint and tea tree oil. LASER PRINTFor this transfer to work you will need to print your image on a laser printer or make a copy of your image with a photocopy machine, on standard printer/copy paper. However, not every kind of toner print will work! Some laser printers and copy machines use toner that does not transfer with oil. The oils that work best for image transfer are: Eucalyptus, lemon, orange, wintergreen, lavender, citrus, lemongrass, peppermint and tea tree oil. LASER PRINTFor this transfer to work you will need to print your image on a laser printer or make a copy of your image with a photocopy machine, on standard printer/copy paper. However, not every kind of toner print will work! Some laser printers and copy machines use toner that does not transfer with oil.
