Commodore C16Kari2024-10-08 | Join me today, while I unexpectedly have to diagnose and fix a 40 year old faulty Commodore 16 Home Computer from 1984 that has developed a glitchy black screen fault. π£ I originally got this computer out to fix a broken F1 key and then realised it no longer worked at all. So I had to diagnose that issue before moving on to sorting out the faulty key. Soon found out it was down to a faulty 8501 CPU, and luckily remembered I had a compatible CPU (found to be a 7501 version) in a Commodore Plus/4 from my collection that I could borrow that I used to test and find the fault. Now I've got the machine working again, I go on to show how to fix/well replace a broken key, by swapping the snapped plunger with a new one. Then reassemble and attach a new key. π£ As mentioned in the video, I'm looking forward to reading in the comments what chip replacement everyone things I should get to replace the faulty CPU. Should I keep original, and stick with a 8501/7501, use the adapter to fit in an original C64 6510 CPU, or go full FPGA with an emulated processor. π£ Also remember to let me know in the comments, recommend games I should check out for either the C16, Plus/4 and even the good old C64.

Bambu Lab & Fusion 360Kari2024-09-21 | Join me today as I take inspiration form the classic Nintendo Gameboy "TETRIS" video game sprites to bring the in-game Tetromino shapes to life, in the form of designing and 3D-Printing some fridge magnets, utilizing my new @BambuLab X1 Carbon 3D-Printer.
#bambulab #bambulabx1carbon #3dprinting
π£ I'll be showing whole design process I used to create these magnets. Starting with Autodesk Fusion 360 I'll be making two sets of Tetrominoes. Firstly a single-color set, using layers to give them a 3D effect and then, expand on the process to make some Multi-color ones. π£ Additionally, I will be showing how I colored in the Multi-colored ones in the Bambu Lab Slicer software so they can be 3D-Printed in multiple filament colors, using the Bambu Lab AMS (Automatic Material System). π£ There is an easter egg, that I only noticed (clue: gravity defying) while editing in this video. So, kudos for those who find it :)

*CHAPTERS* --coming soon--Lets Fix a Faulty (PSone) PlayStationKari2024-09-07 | In todays video, I will be trying to fix a PlayStation (PSone) with a video fault, through replacing a couple of leaked capacitors (C550 "S-Video" and C551 "Composite", both 220uF 4V SMD type). Video has it all, hot air SMD capacitor removal, soldering and more. Can I get it working again? Lets find out. π£ I bought the PSone in a bundle of consoles, listed as faulty on eBay. With the others, being; an original PlayStation 1 (PS1) with laser reading issues and a PlayStation 2 (PS2) with a power issue. π£ Remember to let me know in the comments below, if you would like to see me try and repair the other 2 consoles that I got in the bundle, or any other type of electronics.
*LINKS* π΅ For those interested, over on the Internet Archive (link below) I did find a PDF copy of the service manual (SCPH-100 Series, Service Manual, 5th Edition). Plus, I even have a quick go at playing HALO at the end.
π£ The clock capacitor (a 1F 2.5v supercapacitor) allowed the Xbox to keep track of time. π£ Removing it and not replacing (applicable to versions 1.5 and below) will just cause the system to ask you to set the time again, if the system has been off for a while. π£ I believe from reading online, if you remove the clock capacitor from a 1.6 board you have to definitely replace. Otherwise the console will be stuck in a infinite clock loop.
