The North American release was on the same day as Ape Escape 3.
A sequel, Ape Escape Academy 2, was released in Japan and Europe, but not in North America.
Gameplay
A monkey working for Specter, the player must work up from junior class to senior class by playing mini games by meeting certain criteria for each class. There are 9 mini games in each class to complete. Failing to meet the criteria rewards the player with an X, while meeting the criteria rewards an O, similar to tic-tac-toe.
Each level has a certain number of lines required to pass the class (one line consists of 3 Os, either horizontally, vertically or diagonal). The game also offers review lessons for players that have almost met the requirements. Usually, these are mini-games that the player has failed previously.
Critical reception
The game received "mixed" reviews according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. Many reviewers criticized the difficulty of most of the mini-games, as the controls were not explained fully, often leading to a failure during the first run in these minigames, but generally liked the variations in the available mini-games. In Japan, Famitsu gave it a score of one six and three sevens for a total of 27 out of 40.Game Informer noted how the game focuses on mini games like the WarioWare series, said the game does give some quick thrills, and criticized the loading times between games diminishing the fast-paced feel in comparison to the WarioWare games; the magazine concluded: "Still, this unambiguous title manages to (mostly) hit its target." GamePro said that the mini-games "look nice, but just can't compete with Wario Ware's non-stop style of play that is best suited for the stylus-equipped DS."The Times gave it a score of three stars out of five, saying, "With more than 45 mini-games in the mix, it is not surprising that the quality of them is fairly mixed — it is Ape Academy's major weakness that while many are rather too easy (the one-metre dash, for instance), others seem impossible (catching the contents of a kebab on a sword)." Entertainment Weekly gave it a C+, saying, "Most of these minigames are fun and challenging, but the lack of a plot can leave you wondering just where you're going with the gameplay — and some become insanely hard after a couple starter rounds." However, The Sydney Morning Herald gave it two stars out of five, saying, "Ape Academy's pace is languid. Frequent, lengthy loading delays frustrate, and many of the 50 challenges suffer from clumsy controls, ambiguous instructions, or are just dull." Detroit Free Press gave it one star out of four, saying, "Throw in some excessive load times and a lame several-players-on-one handheld multiplayer mode and you have a barrel of frustration."It is believed that because of this game's lackluster reception, the future of the Ape Escape series in the North America is uncertain, as successive titles in the series (such as Ape Escape Racer and Ape Escape Million Monkeys) have yet to receive a North American release. However, Ape Quest was released for download for the PSP on the PlayStation Store in Japan & the US.

Alan Wake 2 is a 2023 survival horror video game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Epic Games Publishing. The sequel to Alan Wake (2010), the story follows best-selling novelist Alan Wake, who has been trapped in an alternate dimension for 13 years, as he attempts to escape by writing a horror story involving an FBI special agent named Saga Anderson.
Alan Wake 2 was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on 27 October 2023. The game received critical acclaim from critics and was nominated for multiple Game of the Year awards. It sold over 1.3 million units by February 2024, making it Remedy's fastest-selling game.
Gameplay
Compared to the original Alan Wake, which is an action-adventure game with horror themes, Alan Wake 2 is a survival horror game played from a third-person perspective. Players play as Alan Wake or Saga Anderson in two separate single-player stories, which can be played in any order the player chooses, although the opening and ending sequences can only be played as Saga and Alan, respectively.Wake and Anderson traverse environments and fight enemies using various firearms and a flashlight, the latter of which can be "focused" to render enemies vulnerable to firearm attacks. Focusing the flashlight drains its battery, and players need to strategically use a limited amount of batteries and ammunition in order to survive. When enemies are close, Alan or Saga can perform a dodge maneuver.Alan Wake 2 incorporates detective elements: when playing as Saga, players can access an enemy-free space dubbed the "Mind Place". Described by Remedy as a "3D menu", the Mind Place is a visual representation of Saga's thoughts. In the Mind Place, players manage a pin board in which they can connect clues to piece together the main mystery, as well as profile characters to gather clues.
Unbound was revealed by Electronic Arts on October 6, 2022. The game features an art style that merges artistic elements like cel-shading and graffiti art with the more realistic art style of other Need for Speed games. The map is of a fictional city called Lakeshore City inspired by Chicago, Illinois.Unbound was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on December 2, 2022. The game received generally positive reviews from critics.
Plot
In Lakeshore City, the player (female player voiced by Elizabeth Grullon, male player voiced by Ian Nelson) and their friend and partner Jasmine/Yaz (portrayed by Ashleigh LaThrop) refurbish an old junker car in their mechanic shop owned by their mentor Rydell (Dwayne Barnes). After winning a couple of street races, Yaz has a disagreement with Rydell over a car and grows tired of being stuck in the same job daily, and wishes to do something better. She tells the player she was contacted by her friend in the foster system, Alec about some jobs involving delivering vehicles, challenging the authority of the city's police force under the control of Mayor Morgan Stevenson (voiced by Debra Wilson).
One night after a couple of races, the player completes a delivery mission but doesn't find anyone at the drop-off point, and Yaz and Rydell don't answer their calls. Instead, the alarm goes off at Rydell's Rydes. In a hurry and assuming the worst, the Player races back to Rydell's Rydes to witness it being raided of all the cars Rydell was working on. Confronted by both Rydell and the Player, Yaz denies being involved but drives off with the car after Rydell accuses her of theft and expresses his disappointment.
Two years later, street racing in Lakeshore has declined, and Rydell's Rydes has been struggling to remain open after the incident. The player makes a living driving people, one of whom is Tess (Jennifer Sun Bell), whom the player goes with to a street race meet-up, later helping her escape from cops. Yaz suddenly shows up and the player discovers that she is part of the crew that stole the rides and is responsible for the resurgence of street racing in Lakeshore. She announces The Grand, a huge street race where the winner will receive a large amount of money. After hearing the player's story and being introduced to Rydell, Tess proposes bankrolling the garage and rides as well as guiding the player in their efforts to qualify and get revenge on Yaz and win the car back, in return for making money betting on and against them. The player then does several deliveries for Tess, many of which they are suspicious of but don't question due to the money.
After winning the first week's qualifier, the player confronts and challenges Yaz to the pink slip in The Grand. Tess records the interaction and ensures that Yaz accepts the condition of relinquishing the car on the final race, and the video goes viral. After the end of the second qualifier, the player again confronts Yaz, and Tess then reveals the truth: she's been making money betting on and against the player, but for Alec. All of the deliveries the player had done earlier were on his behalf, using her as the middleman. Tess informs both of them that Alec wants to cut a deal with all three where neither the player nor Yaz wins but both will be paid handsomely for throwing the race. Outraged, Yaz leaves to confront Alec. Disgusted with Tess's actions, the player cuts ties with her.
Yaz visits the garage afterward, where she confirms to the player what Tess said was true, but she didn't want to accept the conditions and came to warn Rydell and the player. Reconciling for the moment, Yaz proposes relieving Alec of all his car collection, which he acquired illegally through Tess and the player, including the ones stolen from Rydell's garage, and delivering them to their rightful owners. She mentions that the player still has to defeat her in the Grand to win back the car. The player finally wins The Grand and gets back their car.

Tchia is an action-adventure video game played from a third-person perspective. The player assumes control of the titular protagonist, who must explore a tropical archipelago to rescue her kidnapped father. Tchia has the ability of "soul jumping", which allows her to possess and assume control of animals and inanimate objects found in the world, and uses their power to travel to new areas, solve puzzles, and defend herself against opponents. For instance, by soul jumping to a dog, players can use its ability to dig out treasure maps. According to developer Phil Crifo, players can soul jump to more than 30 animals and "hundreds of" objects.Tchia can explore the archipelago in her human form. She is equipped with a glider and a raft which allows her to navigate between places quickly. Tchia is highly acrobatic. She can quickly slide down a mountain, climb up trees and use it to catapult herself across the canopy, and ascend nearly all types of surfaces. Through exploration, players will discover different points of interest, minigames, and chests with cosmetic items, meet other non-playable characters, and complete side quests. Tchia features elements from rhythm games, as players can play Tchia's ukelele at will. Players can play "Soul-Melodies", which allows Tchia to perform feats such as summoning animals for soul jumping, altering the time of day, or changing the in-game weather. These gameplay sequences are skippable. Tchia's appearance, as well as her glider and her raft, can be extensively customized.
Plot
The game opens with a young boy being brought to an orphanage. Looking to help make him comfortable, the old woman in charge tells him the story of Tchia.
Tchia and her father Joxu live alone on the island of Uma, occasionally visited by their friend Tre. On Tchia's twelfth birthday, an airship lands on the island and a man named Pwi Dua emerges, kidnapping Joxu. Tchia attempts to stop him and discovers that she has the ability to soul jump, letting her possess creatures and inanimate objects, but fails to stop him from escaping before she falls into the ocean. Tchia wakes up in Tre's camp, who reveals that Joxu is being held captive by Meavora. Knowing he's sending people to abduct him too, Tre gives Tchia his boat so she can escape and rescue her father.
Tchia arrives at the city of Aëmoon and heads to Meavora's palace of Ga Ngazo looking for him. However, she's turned away by the secretary until she brings certain items as a gift. Tchia travels to the village of Hunahmi and meets their chief, who paints her face and teaches her how to carve totems. She then travels to Weliwele, where she meets their matriarch Gaby and her daughter Louise, the latter of whom Tchia starts up a romantic relationship with. The Chief of Hunahmi and Gaby provide Tchia with the gift she needs, and she goes back to Ga Ngazo to meet with Meavora. There she discovers that Meavora is a demon that eats children and babies. She's recognized by Pwi Dua, who attempts to capture her, but she is saved at the last minute by a mysterious Masked Warrior.
Awaking on the island of Ieji Sinöe, Tchia meets with its guardian, Kavere. There Kavere reveals that Tchia's father and missing mother were the king and queen of the islands and that they had a son and daughter with soul-jumping powers. Pwi Dua, afraid of these powers, turned the people against them and performed a coup with Meavora. Joxu managed to save Tchia and went into hiding with her. Tchia, worried that Meavora will go after Louise, leaves Ieji Sinöe to go warn her. However, she discovers that Louise, Gaby, and the Hunahmi Chief have all been captured. Tchia shuts down Meavora's fabric factories to try and save them, but Pwi Dua traps them and her father inside one and sets off a bomb, killing him, Gaby, and the Huahmi Chief. Once again, Tchia is saved by the Masked Warrior, who brings her back to Uma. There the warrior reveals she is Heia, Tchia's mother, and the two bury Joxu.

Alien: Isolation was designed to resemble the original Alien film rather than its more action-oriented 1986 sequel Aliens, and features a similar lo-fi, 1970s vision of what the future could look like. It runs on an engine built to accommodate the Alien's behaviour and technical aspects such as atmospheric and lighting effects. Creative Assembly intended to make Alien: Isolation a third-person game, but used first-person to create a more intense experience. Several downloadable content packs were released, some of which relive scenes from the original film.
Alien: Isolation received positive reviews and sold over two million copies by May 2015. Its retro-futuristic art direction, sound design, and artificial intelligence were praised, while its characters and length received some criticism. It appeared in multiple "best of" lists and won several year-end awards, including Best Audio at the 2015 Game Developers Choice Awards and Audio Achievement at the 11th British Academy Games Awards. It saw ports to Linux and OS X in 2015, Nintendo Switch in 2019, then to Android and iOS mobile devices in 2021. It was also added to the Amazon Luna service in 2021. A television adaptation was released in 2019.
Gameplay
Alien: Isolation is a single-player action-adventure game with an emphasis on stealth and survival horror. The player controls Amanda Ripley from a first-person perspective, and must explore a space station and complete objectives while avoiding, outsmarting, and defeating enemies. Objectives range from activating computers to collecting certain items or reaching a specific area. The player can run, climb ladders, sneak into vents, crouch behind objects to break the line of sight with enemies, and peek over or lean around for a safe view. The player also has the ability to go under tables or inside empty lockers to hide from enemies.Amanda encounters various enemies throughout the station, including hostile human survivors and androids. The player can either eliminate them or avoid them using stealth or distractions. The main antagonist, an Alien creature, pursues the player throughout. The Alien creature cannot be defeated, requiring the player to use stealth tactics in order to survive. Instead of following a predetermined path, the Alien has the ability to actively investigate disturbances and hunt the player by sight or sound. Along the way, the player can use both a flashlight and a motion tracker to detect the Alien's movements. However, using any of these increases the chance of the Alien finding the player. For example, if the Alien is close enough, it will be attracted by the tracker's sound, forcing the player to use the tracker wisely and remove it as soon as it detects motion. The motion tracker cannot detect enemies when they are not moving and cannot determine if the alien creature is up in the ducts or on ground level. On the game's hardest difficulty setting, Nightmare, the motion tracker is unreliable and does not accurately locate enemies.
Although Amanda gains access to a revolver, a shotgun, a bolt gun, a flamethrower, and a stun baton over the course of the game, Alien: Isolation emphasizes evasion over direct combat by providing limited ammunition. The player can also craft useful items by collecting schematics and different materials. Items include EMP detonators, noisemakers, molotov cocktails, and pipe bombs; these can help the player deal with enemies. For example, the noisemaker can be used to attract enemies in a particular direction. The Alien is afraid of fire, so using flame weapons forces it to retreat into the station's ventilation system, though only if a vent is nearby.
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty is a 2001 action-adventure stealth video game developed by Konami Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Konami for the PlayStation 2. Originally released on November 13, 2001, it is the fourth Metal Gear game produced by Hideo Kojima, the seventh overall game in the series and is a sequel to Metal Gear Solid (1998). An expanded edition, titled Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, was released the following year for Xbox and Windows in addition to the PlayStation 2. A remastered version of the game, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty - HD ion, was later included in the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PlayStation Vita. The HD ion of the game was included in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 compilation for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, which was released on October 24, 2023.The story revolves around the Big Shell, a massive offshore clean-up facility seized by a group of terrorists who call themselves the Sons of Liberty. They demand an enormous ransom in exchange for the life of the President of the United States and threaten to destroy the facility and create a cataclysmic environmental disaster if their demands are not met. The motives and identities of many of the antagonists and allies change throughout the game, as the protagonists discover a world-shaking conspiracy constructed by a powerful organization known as the Patriots.
Metal Gear Solid 2 received acclaim for its gameplay, graphics, and attention to detail. However, critics were initially divided on the protagonist and the philosophical nature and execution of the game's storyline, which explores themes such as the Information Age, memetics, social engineering, political conspiracies, censorship, artificial intelligence, existentialism, postmodernism, virtual reality, and the internal struggle of freedom of thought. The game was a commercial success, selling seven million copies by 2004. It has since been considered to be one of the greatest video games of all time, as well as a leading example of artistic expression in video games. The game is often considered ahead of its time for dealing with themes and concepts, such as post-truth politics, fake news, alternative facts, synthetic media, and echo chambers, that became culturally relevant in the mid-to-late 2010s.
Gameplay
Metal Gear Solid 2 carries the subtitle of "Tactical Espionage Action," and most of the game involves the protagonist sneaking around to avoid being seen by the enemies. Most fundamental is the broader range of skills offered to the player. The first-person aiming mode allows players to target specific points in the game, greatly expanding tactical options; guards can be blinded by steam, distracted by a flying piece of fruit or hit in weak spots. Players can walk slowly, allowing them to sneak over noisy flooring without making a sound, or hang off walkways to slip past below guards' feet. The corner-press move from Metal Gear Solid, which allowed players a sneak peek around the next bend is expanded to allow players to fire from cover. Other abilities included leaping over and hanging off of railings, opening and hiding in storage lockers, and sneaking up behind enemies to hold them at gunpoint for items and ammunition. Players can shoot out the enemy's radio, so they are unable to communicate with others on their team. The environment also has a more significant impact on the stealth gameplay, taking into account factors such as weather, smell, atmosphere, and temperature. In Metal Gear Solid 2, the enemy guards are given more advanced AI "to prevent an imbalance of power," and unlike the original Metal Gear Solid, work in squads. They call on their radios for a strike team upon seeing the player, then attempt to flank him and cut off his escape while avoiding the player's attacks. Often strike teams will carry body armor and riot shields, making them a greater threat. Even if the player escapes to a hiding place, a team will sweep in to check the area.
Gameplay
Baldur's Gate 3 is a role-playing video game with single-player and cooperative multiplayer elements. Players can create one or more characters and form a party along with a number of pre-generated characters to explore the game's story. Optionally, players are able to take one of their characters and team up online with other players to form a party. The game implements a flexible quest system with various approaches to resolving most quests. Players can eliminate almost any non-player character, regardless of their importance to the storyline, yet still continue to advance through the game. The game is divided into three acts, each taking place in a distinct region of the world. Within these acts, the game adopts a non-linear format, permitting players to tackle quests in virtually any sequence.
Unlike previous games in the Baldur's Gate series, Baldur's Gate 3 has turn-based combat, similar to Larian's earlier games Divinity: Original Sin and Divinity: Original Sin II; all combat is based on the Dungeons & Dragons 5th ion rules. Most mechanics and spells are taken from the tabletop role-playing game version of Dungeons & Dragons, although some are modified or omitted due to the adaptation of the game into a role-playing video game format. There are 12 character classes, which are further subdivided into 46 subclasses. Each class focuses on a different aspect of the combat system, such as the wizard, who focuses on spells, casting a large variety of spells or the barbarian, who focuses on unarmoured melee combat. The player can also select more than one class per character, which is referred to as multiclassing, allowing the player to build their character in many different and unique ways. The game incorporates a roster of ten companion characters who are available for players to enlist into their party. Each of these characters has a personal story and a narrative that the player can explore further. The player can develop relationships with companion characters based on plot and dialogue choices made. Some of the companion characters are only accessible provided that the player makes specific plot or dialogue choices. All characters, both major and minor, are fully voice acted and motion captured, amounting to approximately 1.5 million words of performance capture. The game features a limited free floating camera, allowing the player to play the game in any camera ranging from fully third-person camera to an isometric top-down view. The game's user interface has both a mouse and keyboard and a controller mode. In both modes, the player can use spells and combat actions, manage inventory, see the map, display player and companion character's statistics and select various gameplay elements such as allied and enemy characters. The game has modding support, although not all features and tools are available at launch, and modding options are expected to expand with subsequent updates. Many mods are available from the community, allowing the player to change various aspects of the game.
Plot
Setting
Baldur's Gate 3 takes place in the fictional world of the Forgotten Realms during the year of 1492 DR, over 120 years after the events of the previous game, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, and months after the events of the playable Dungeons & Dragons 5e module, Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus. The story is set primarily in the Sword Coast in western Faerûn, encompassing a forested area that includes the Emerald Grove, a druid grove dedicated to the deity Silvanus; Moonrise Towers and the Shadow-Cursed Lands, which are covered by an unnatural and sentient darkness that can only be penetrated through magical means; and Baldur's Gate, the largest and most affluent city in the region, as well as its outlying suburb of Rivington.
The game began its initial development in 2015 under the codename Project Judge. The game originated from Sega's desire to create a new IP with Toshihiro Nagoshi serving as the writer. Nagoshi wanted to write a new type of story with a detective working on a case that contrasted with Nagoshi's previous work in the Kiryu-era Like A Dragon games. As a result, the developers designed the game to be accessible to detective-game newcomers. Singer and actor Takuya Kimura, who provided both facial features and Japanese voice acting, was cast to play Yagami. Due to popular demand, the game includes an English voice-over dub as well as subtitles in several additional languages. The Japanese rock band Alexandros produced two songs for the game.
Judgment was withdrawn from the Japanese market in March 2019 following the arrest of Pierre Taki, one of the game's actors, for suspected cocaine use. While localizing the game for international markets, Taki's likeness was removed and his voice acting performance and likeness was replaced by actor Miou Tanaka.Judgment received a generally positive response from critics. Many praised the game's plot, side content and combat but criticized the simplicity of its investigation mechanics. Judgment was a commercial success, topping one million and earned recognition as one of the best video games released in 2019. The remaster was praised for improving the game's frame rate and visuals. A sequel, Lost Judgment released on September 24, 2021.
Gameplay
Judgment is an action-adventure game with a third-person perspective. It follows private detective Takayuki Yagami as he investigates a serial murder case in Kamurocho, a fictional district of Tokyo, Japan, previously featured in the Yakuza franchise. When asked about similarities between Judgment and other Yakuza titles, series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi said that "the location and assets might be the same, but the gameplay and story here are drastically different". Yagami can buy items to restore his health in stores based on real-life counterparts, similar to the Yakuza games. However, Yagami can suffer from Mortal Wounds, which permanently decreases Yagami's maximum health. The only way to recover is to visit an underground doctor for treatment or purchase a medical kit, which are relatively expensive.Judgment features a similar combat system to that of Yakuza 0, where players can change between two different fighting styles: crane-style, which focuses on fighting groups of enemies, and tiger-style, which focuses on fighting individuals. Yagami also incorporates parkour elements, like wall-running and leapfrogging, in his fighting style. Similar to the previous games in the Yakuza series, Yagami can perform brutal takedowns of enemies through "EX Actions" (a fundamentally identical system to Like a Dragon's Heat Actions), enter an enhanced state where he becomes stronger in battle, labelled "EX Boost" in Judgment, and can team up with allies to perform powerful combination attacks. Accomplishing sidequests or achievements in the main narrative rewards the player with points that can be used to enhance Yagami's skills and teach him new techniques. The game also features an investigation mode, where the player must search a scene for clues and evidence of a crime. Players must infiltrate areas by lock picking and use disguises to gather information or find objects of interest. The game has sections where the player pursues a suspect. These take the form of tailing sequences, where players must follow a suspect while avoiding being seen, and chase sequences, where players must avoid oncoming obstacles while running to catch a fleeing suspect.
The story follows Jacob Lee (Josh Duhamel), a starship captain who survives a crash landing on the Jovian moon Callisto, only to be captured and incarcerated against his will in a high-security prison. He is subsequently forced to fight for survival when a mysterious illness sweeps the prison, and gradually learns the dark secrets of his captors. Gameplay has players exploring a series of levels, gathering resources and collecting data logs while fighting off infected prisoners.
Development of the game began with the formation of Striking Distance Studios in June 2019. Originally developed as a game set in the PUBG: Battlegrounds universe, it later evolved into an original intellectual property.
The Callisto Protocol was released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on December 2, 2022. It received mixed reviews from critics and failed to meet the sales expectations of Krafton.
Gameplay
In The Callisto Protocol, players assume the role of Jacob Lee from a third-person perspective. Jacob's health is indicated by an implant on the back of his neck called a "C.O.R.E. Device". Health can be replenished with injectable packs found throughout levels. Jacob can use weapons to combat enemies, as well as a melee system to dodge enemy attacks while looking for openings to strike and kill them. Both combat styles can be mixed up, providing greater variety when facing enemy types. Jacob can collect and review audio logs during gameplay.
Plot
In 2320, Jacob Lee (Josh Duhamel) and Max Barrow (Jeff Schine) are contract freight transporters working for the United Jupiter Company (UJC). The two decide to retire after ferrying one last shipment between Europa and the UJC-operated Black Iron Prison on Callisto. Shortly after leaving Black Iron in their ship, the Charon, they are boarded by the Outer Way, a terrorist group purportedly responsible for a massive biological attack on Europa, and the ship crash-lands back on Callisto. Max is killed, leaving Jacob and Outer Way leader Dani Nakamura (Karen Fukuhara) as the only survivors. They are recovered by Black Iron Prison security head Captain Leon Ferris (Sam Witwer) and incarcerated on the orders of Warden Duncan Cole (James C. Mathis III). After an intake process, Jacob awakens to find the prison overrun by hostile "biophages", inmates afflicted with an unknown disease. He encounters Elias Porter (Zeke Alton), a prisoner who claims to have an escape plan. After freeing Elias, Jacob fights and leaves Ferris to die at the hands of biophages.
Elias convinces Jacob to locate a hacker in the Special Housing Unit to summon a ship for their escape. The hacker is revealed to be Dani, but she refuses to join them. On their way to the hangar, Jacob and Elias are intercepted by a partially-infected Ferris and are ejected onto Callisto's surface; Elias suffers fatal injuries in the process. Dani appears in a half-track and recovers Elias' memories of Black Iron and decides to assist Jacob as the biophages mutate and become more dangerous. After Dani fails to find evidence of the UJC illegally smuggling bioweapons in the wreckage of Charon, the two make it to the hangar where they summon a ship. Cole intervenes and shoots down the ship, causing it to crash into and destroy the hangar.
With their method of escape gone, Jacob and Dani decide to confront Cole. The two make their way through the ruins of Arcas, Callisto's original colony before it was abandoned and the Black Iron Prison built over it. They find a lab holding a dead creature that the original Arcas miners unearthed, and learn the biophages originated from larvae that were found in the creature. Seeing its potential for accelerating evolution, the UJC harvested the creature's larvae and began experimenting with it on humans, causing an outbreak in Arcas; one biophage, Subject Zero, retained his intelligence before the UJC destroyed the colony. After Jacob and Dani fend off an encounter with Ferris, Dani becomes infected. Returning to Black Iron, Jacob is knocked out by a security robot and imprisoned.
Jacob is freed by the prison doctor, Dr. Caitlyn Mahler (Louise Barnes), who reveals that Cole is part of a religious sect called Kallipolis, which is attempting to find a way to advance human evolution.
Gameplay
Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong is a narrative-driven, single-player role-playing video game in which the player controls three vampires with different vampiric disciplines (abilities), switching between them over the course of the game. The player can customize the characters by choosing to upgrade their disciplines and character statistics to suit their preferred playstyle; this influences character interaction and skills used while exploring the game world, such as picking locks and hacking computer terminals. Because the player characters often are surrounded by humans, the player needs to be careful about when and where they choose to use supernatural abilities, to avoid revealing their characters' vampiric nature.Throughout the game, the characters are put in difficult situations where the player has to make moral choices, with no obviously correct choice.
Synopsis
The story follows three vampires, each about a hundred years old, from different vampire clans with differing views on the Camarilla's rule: Galeb, an intimidating man of clan Ventrue; Emem, a "seductive Amazon" of clan Toreador; and Leysha of clan Malkavian, who relies on supernatural insight and spreading madness. The three investigate conspiracies in Boston following a shootout, starting with who ordered the attack and why.Swansong is set in Boston, in the World of Darkness, where vampires exist unbeknownst to humanity. This practice of hiding from humans is called the Masquerade, and is upheld by the vampire sect the Camarilla. The new Camarilla prince of Boston, Hazel Iversen, is trying to strengthen the Camarilla's presence by bringing Boston and Hartford together. Although vampires previously had been occupied with rivalry between factions, they have changed focus to trying to survive, following events like the fall of London as a home to vampires, and so the Boston Camarilla wants to ensure that all vampires in the Northeastern United States are safe. The plot revolves around the aftermath of the violent circumstances of the reunification of Boston and Hartford domains negotiated by Hazel Iversen, the Prince of Boston and Tremere Chantry of Hartford. Various highly influential members of the Camarilla community were expertly destroyed or captured by a group that appear to be highly knowledgeable about their quarry's weaknesses. Investigations reveal that the culprit of the raid was the Society of St Leopold, a sect of vampire hunters funded and supported by the Holy See, and Special Affairs Division, a governmental agency with a similar briefing. Each protagonist has their specific mission to bring the affair to a close. Galeb is tasked with the assassination of Monsignor Stanford, the leader of the Second Inquisition and wielder of True Faith; Emem is required to infiltrate the enemy HQ to corrupt their substantial database of information on vampires, while Leysha pursues her own daughter, who was staked and abducted during one of SI's raids into Camarilla territory. The game features numerous endings, depending which main and/or side characters survive their ordeals, and what actions they took.
Development
Swansong is developed by Big Bad Wolf, a branch of Cyanide, and is designed by Clément Plantier. It is based on the fifth edition of the tabletop role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade, and uses the portrayal of Boston from the 1990s tabletop game books Dark Colony and Giovanni Chronicles, while updating it for the present-day setting. The developers incorporated some game mechanics from the tabletop game into Swansong, but chose to focus on designing the game around player choices and consequences. Although referencing both past tabletop game material and another video game adaptation, Bloodlines, the game is still designed to be approachable for players who are not familiar with the series. In adapting the tabletop game to a video game format, the developers considered a role-playing video game the best option, for allowing them to tell a story and for giving players freedom to role-play.

The game's development was led by brothers Mike and Josh Grier, founders of Ember Lab. Having spent five years creating commercials and branded applications, the development team shifted to creating an original video game after 2016. They partnered with Sony Interactive Entertainment for a console-exclusive deal, and grew the team to 15 core employees. The game's art was created in collaboration with Vietnamese animation studio Sparx, and its fictional world is inspired by Eastern locations such as Japan and Bali. The original score was composed by Jason Gallaty, who collaborated with Balinese ensemble group Gamelan Çudamani to create gamelan music respectful to the culture.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits was showcased at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2021. Following some delays, partly due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the game was released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows on September 21, 2021. It received generally positive reviews, with particular praise directed at its artistic design, original music, and the use of the Rot, though critics were divided on the gameplay, narrative, and characters. It received several awards and nominations from video game publications and awards ceremonies.
Gameplay
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. The player controls Kena, a young spirit guide with magical abilities. In combat, the player uses Kena's staff for light, heavy, and charged attacks. An upgrade transforms the staff into a bow, which can be used to attack enemies, act as a grappling hook, or hit crystals to solve puzzles. When defending against enemies, the player can activate Kena's pulse ability, which acts as a shield and has a health meter that depletes when attacked; it serves to provide clues and activate objects, and an upgrade allows the player to dash forwards, which can be used to pass through barriers to the Spirit Realm, dodge attacks and stun enemies, and corporealize spirit enemies. Activating the pulse ability before an attack stuns the enemy. The player gains the ability to use Spirit Bombs, which can be used to float shimmering rocks for platforming or as a stun attack against enemies. The player is tasked with collecting small spirit companions known as the Rot. They can be directed to complete tasks, such as moving objects, taking certain shapes, or distracting enemies. The player must damage enemies to collect enough courage before the Rot can join battles. Directing the Rot to complete a task during battle will expend courage, which can be regained by continuing to attack enemies and collecting the dropped courage. The Rot can infuse the player's arrows or bombs to provide a stronger attack. The Rot can be customized with different hats, which are discovered by completing tasks or opening chests; when discovered, they become available at the Rot Hat Cart, where they are purchasable using Gems earned and discovered throughout the game world. The player earns karma by completing tasks and finding collectibles, which is used to unlock upgrades and abilities such as more powerful attacks or a stronger shield. Throughout the world, the player may discover spirit mail, which is used to unlock areas within the village and free the spirits within. The player may find locations to meditate; doing so will increase their overall health meter. The game utilizes the DualSense controller's haptic feedback for features such as Kena's spirit bow.
Plot
In the world of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, deceased people can remain between the physical and spirit worlds if they are traumatized or feel unfinished. The task of spirit guides is to understand their difficulties and help them to move on. In the game, a young spirit guide named Kena (Dewa Ayu Dewi Larassanti) travels to an abandoned village in search of the sacred Mountain Shrine.

Gameplay
Ratchet & Clank shares many gameplay similarities with the other entries in the series. The main playable character is Ratchet, although Clank is playable in several portions of the game. As Ratchet, the player navigates diverse environments, defeating enemies with an array of different weapons and gadgets, and traversing obstacles. Clank is attached to Ratchet like a backpack, performing several functions, such as allowing diving in water, gliding through the use of propellers, and on occasion, acting as a jetpack to allow flight. Clank's gameplay sections are drastically different, even though the premise of navigating environments and the controls remain the same. Clank is not equipped with weapons; instead, he utilizes punches to defeat enemies. Clank's gameplay sections mostly revolve around solving environmental puzzles, rather than defeating enemies.Though Ratchet & Clank is a re-imagining of the 2002 video game, it has a variety of gameplay elements from different entries in the series, such as strafing, automatic weapon and health upgrades, manual Raritanium weapon upgrading, and the inclusion of weapons seen in later games. It features new weapons, such as the Pixelizer, which gives enemies an 8-bit appearance. Environments are presented in a somewhat linear manner, although multiple paths are available for the player. The player progresses through the story by travelling from planet to planet. New planets are unlocked once story objectives on previous planets have been completed. Aside from battling enemies, the player utilizes a Swingshot to cross gaps, rides grind rails to travel through levels, walks on magnetic surfaces, activates switches to open new paths, and occasionally must solve a hacking mini-game.The player unlocks weapons and gadgets as the story progresses, but some are bought through vendors. Bolts, which are found in crates, dropped by defeated enemies and given as rewards, act as currency. Crates also contain health and ammunition. Items are used in several different ways. Gadgets are automatically equipped at certain points in levels, weapons must be equipped manually, and lastly, the OmniWrench, which acts as a melee weapon, is always equipped as it has a dedicated button. Several collectibles are present, such as holocards, which provide information about the world, and gold bolts, which unlock aesthetical extras. Skill points, which were prominent features in the previous games in the series, do not return, instead substituted by the PlayStation trophies system.Racing, in the form of hoverboard races, and aerial combat missions, in which the player controls a spaceship, also appear in the game. Bosses, which are a mainstay in the series, are featured in some levels. After completing the game, the player may choose to enter "challenge mode", in which the game's difficulty level rises considerably, but most items, including all weapons, are carried through.

In Thief: Deadly Shadows the player takes the role of Garrett, a master thief. It is set in a fantasy world resembling a cross between the Late Middle Ages and the Victorian era, with more advanced steampunk technologies interspersed. One of the game's major new features was the ability to explore the City. While previous games sent Garrett straight from mission to mission, Thief: Deadly Shadows allows him to walk the City streets between missions where he can steal from passersby, spy on the townspeople's daily lives, and search for side quests in addition to major story missions. The game also introduced an ability to switch between first and third person views, and to flatten against walls.
Development for both platforms started simultaneously. Thief: Deadly Shadows received generally positive reviews, albeit not as critically successful as its predecessors. A reboot of the Thief series, Thief, was released by Eidos Montréal in 2014.
Gameplay
Thief: Deadly Shadows is a first-person and third-person 'sneaker', similar in gameplay to the previous games in the series. The player takes the role of Garrett, an independent master thief who aims to steal his way through the City, using stealth, devices and weapons, in order to complete objectives and make profits on the side. The player may steal from or mug innocents for loot, and avoid, distract, attack or knock out guards. Loot and weapon ammunition may be stolen simply by 'touching' it, when close enough. Locked rooms and chests can be broken into after completing a lock-picking minigame.Mission levels may be traversed by sneaking through the shadows, since walking or running will alert nearby guards, who detecting the presence of a vandal will search around for an unknown face. Upon discovering the player, the guards will give chase and possibly hunt them down. In order to make minimum noise, the player must actively monitor the noise each action creates. The player may usually view a hand-drawn map of the immediate surroundings; realistically, the player's location is not indicated on the map and must be deduced from the surrounding landmarks. The game has a fairly open-ended structure, allowing the player to approach every objective in multiple different ways. Upon completion of all objectives, the mission ends and the plot is further revealed through cutscenes. Due to limited memory, city and mission levels are divided into parts connected by load zones.
After each mission, the player reappears into the nearest district within the City, which may be freely explored by foot. Most civilians do not recognize Garrett as a criminal, although wanted posters are frequently visible on City walls. City areas unlock as the player progresses through missions. Within the City, the player may sell previously stolen goods on the black market to fences, for gold, which can be used at various shops to purchase weapons, equipment and supplies. Special loot such as artifacts cannot be sold but are involved in the objectives and plot. As they are collected, loot, gold, equipment and weapons are retained in the player's inventory through the game, making it possible to 'hoard' for later use. While exploring the City, the player may break into homes for additional loot, spy on and steal from the townspeople, and complete the occasional side quest. Allying with major factions will motivate its members to fight alongside the player, against the City Watch guards.
Both the PC and Xbox versions of the game are relatively easy to play, with conventional and reconfigurable shooter-style controls. The first mission is an interactive tutorial that guides the player through a typical robbery, set in an inn. The player may save progress at any point, and must do so manually from time to time, since the game never autosaves. The Xbox version has considerably more tactile controls since it uses a game controller instead of an all purpose keyboard. Within the lock-picking minigame, a rumble effect can be felt based on the relation between the lock picks and tumblers. Movement of the right analog stick also allows Garrett to turn his head while picking locks, allowing the player to survey their surroundings and pick locks simultaneously. Moving the left analog stick gently makes Garrett creep, and forcefully makes him run.
Gameplay
Call of the Sea is an adventure video game played from a first-person perspective. The game is set in the 1930s, and players assume control of Norah (Cissy Jones), who must explore an island set in the Southern Pacific to find her husband, Harry (Yuri Lowenthal), who has gone missing after embarking on an expedition. The game does not feature a combat system, and players progress in the game by solving various puzzles.
Plot
Norah Everhart receives a package with a picture of her husband Harry, detailing coordinates to an island east of Otaheite (Tahiti). Harry had vanished after embarking on an expedition to find a cure for Norah's mysterious family illness, which is slowly killing her. Norah journeys to the island, which she had had recurring dreams of. Moving inland, she finds a camp used by the expedition, which consisted of Harry, reporter Cassandra Ward, mechanic Frank Dayton, dermatologist Ernest De Witt, stuntman Roy Granger, and their Tahitian guide Teaharoa.
The expedition had found a well used by the islanders for a ritual involving a black ichor. Impatient, Roy had used dynamite to blow open the well, accidentally killing himself and splatting De Witt's arm with the ichor. De Witt then started losing his sanity and developing skin blotches similar to Norah's. The team had attempted to replicate the ritual, but abandoned it after the ship that brought them, the Lady Shannon, had washed ashore nearby. Norah replicates the ritual, causing the well to fill with ooze with her inside. She experiences a vision in which she walks off a cliff into a river, while watched by a giant amphibious-looking creature, and finds herself transformed into a sea creature.
Norah wakes up near the crashed Lady Shannon, and finds it torn apart with claw marks, with its crew missing. Norah finds the expedition had set up another camp, and De Witt, now insane, had stabbed Frank, but was stopped and tied up, later disappearing. The team had discovered an organ carved into the rocks and used it to open a passage to a temple on the island's peak. Norah travels to the temple, where the expedition had employed loudspeakers to use the organ's music to open the temple door. This caused a rockslide, while Frank had succumbed to his stab wound. After restoring power to the loudspeakers, Norah is knocked out, and dreams of a desert surrounded by the bones of sea creatures, and of her mother's music box, which played the organ's music. Singing it, Norah opens the temple, and finds a note by Harry explaining that she is not ill, but instead changing into something new.
Norah finds gateways that allow her to transform into her amphibious form. She arrives at a village, used by the island's inhabitants, who were 'slaves' of unknown masters. Norah finds a note by Harry explaining that the masters took their slaves to a 'sanctuary' to complete their transformation, which he intended to undergo to become like Norah, so they could be together. This led to arguments between Cassandra and Teaharoa, leading to the latter leaving the island. Norah journeys to the sanctuary, finding sea creatures which treat her with familiarity. Norah also feels more "alive" in the island than she ever had.
At the sanctuary, she finds a note from Harry in which he seems to be losing his sanity, with blood leading into the building. Norah enters the throne room, and finds a mutated body, with Harry's glasses beside it. Norah realizes the body is Cassandra's, who, coveting the sea creatures' immortality, had shot Harry, attempted to transform into them, and died in the process. Harry understood that the ritual would not work on him, and left. He sent Norah the package, faking his death in an attempt to get her to undergo the transformation and save herself.
Depending on player choice, Norah can either complete her transformation or reject it. If she transforms, she abandons her humanity and journeys to an underwater city for a seemingly joyous eternal life, at the cost of never seeing Harry again. If she rejects it, she lives out the rest of her remaining years with Harry. During the credits, Norah and Harry sing their favorite song, Dear Old Pal of Mine, together.
Plot
After the Four Horsemen have attacked and decimated the Nephilim in Eden, they are summoned by the Charred Council. The Council suspects that the demon king Lucifer is planning something with Samael to upset the Balance and orders War and Strife to investigate. After invading Samael's keep, they find it under attack from another Master of Hell, albeit a lesser one: Moloch. Samael informs them that he is not in league with Lucifer and the current attack on him is the result of that. Before he can say anything else, Moloch attacks and Samael teleports the Horsemen to the Void to find and talk to his associate.
The Horsemen travel through the Void and find Vulgrim to be the associate Samael spoke of. Vulgrim informs them that he can help track down Lucifer but he needs several artifacts. After collecting the required artifacts Vulgrim informs them that Lucifer has paid a visit to Mammon, another Master of Hell. Samael arrives at this point and suggests that the Horsemen find Mammon and make him talk about Lucifer. They find Mammon with several relics and weapons from Eden. After killing him, the Horsemen return to Vulgrim and Samael where they learn that Lucifer has opened a path to Eden, bringing its sacred water and turning it into poison. The demon Belial is in charge of this operation. After stopping the operation, they confront and defeat Belial but spare him. After the Horsemen leave, Lucifer arrives and punishes him.
The Horsemen learn that Dagon, the Drowned King is also helping Lucifer as the latter has offered Eden to him. Meanwhile, they meet Abaddon, the guardian angel of Eden. He informs them that Lucifer is spreading corruption and asks them to help him cleanse Eden. Afterwards, the Horsemen track down and kill Dagon. They return to the Void and Samael advises them to destroy the source of Moloch's power before they attack him. They do so and together with Samael, they attack and kill Moloch. However, before his death, Moloch tells them that Lucifer's plan is complete and Samael knows about it.
After returning to the Void, Samael tells the Horsemen that Lucifer had asked for the souls of the Masters of Hell after their death in exchange for their services. Samael also tells them that Lilith is plotting with Lucifer as well and together they have made an artifact called the "Animus" which is fueled by the souls of the Masters of Heaven and Hell who had accepted Lucifer's offer. This artifact is used on Earth to corrupt mankind, turning them into the volatile and self-destructive species they grow to become later on. The Horsemen go to Earth to find mankind living in sin and realize that they have helped Lucifer achieve his goal. Lucifer talks to them through a human child and tells the Horsemen that the corruption of humankind is spreading and cannot be stopped.
Afterwards, they return to the Charred Council who declares that humankind needs to be watched as a Third Kingdom. They then forge the Seven Seals as a treaty to uphold the balance between Heaven and Hell: three of them coming from the demonic planes and three more coming from the angelic keeps and one from the Council itself. They declare whoever breaks the treaty shall suffer the wrath of the Horsemen, setting the stage for the future games.
Gameplay
Played from a top-down perspective, the game allows players to switch between Strife and War at any time. Strife uses his pistols, Mercy and Redemption while War uses his sword, Chaos Eater. Alternatively, two players can play the game in a co-op mode with each player taking the role of one of the characters. Once the player has killed enough enemies, they are allowed to use burst abilities which allow them to take down enemies quicker. The game currency is souls which can be earned by killing enemies that will spawn before the player. Platforming elements similar to previous games make a return and certain gameplay mechanics such as bombs are present too.

During Wave 15, the Lycans will all appear at the very end, coinciding with the Full Moon effect. This will then stay in effect until the level is over.
Following completion of Wave 15, Vasile will enter from the North and follow the western path. When defeated, he will return to the northern entrance then follow the eastern path.
After Vasile's defeat, all enemies on the map will die, however, any Vampiresa still in flight will not be affected and will still need to be beaten before the level can end.
As seen with previous villains Vez'nan and Lord Malagar , Vasile will appear in the windows of his residence and taunt you.
Hidden on the edges of the forest are references to well-known horror films. On the left side of the level is Chucky from Child's Play, on the right side is the hockey mask worn by Jason Vorhees in Friday the 13th and a stone slab bearing the logo of the Umbrella Corporation from Resident Evil, and near the bottom center of the screen is Billy the Puppet's head from the Saw franchise (briefly visible when Vasile first appears and all frames vanish from the screen).
After Vasile is defeated, playing the level on either Heroic or Iron will reveal that Dusk Chateau has been turned into an attraction.
Vasile is a traditional Romanian name (where Dracula is rumoured to be from), though nowadays it is mostly associated with older people and/or from the countryside.
Dusk refers to a time of day where the sun is still visible, but there is not much light still present. This is ironic since during the level, a moon appears multiple times.

Wave 5 Vampiresa
EnemySqr Vampiresa Powerful undead that live off the blood of their victims.
Set three years after the events of Rise of the Tomb Raider, its story follows Lara Croft as she ventures through the tropical regions of the Americas to the legendary city Paititi, battling the paramilitary organization Trinity and racing to stop a Mayan apocalypse she has unleashed. Lara must traverse the environment and combat enemies with firearms and stealth as she explores semi-open hubs. In these hubs she can raid challenge tombs to unlock new rewards, complete side missions, and scavenge for resources which can be used to craft useful materials.
Crystal Dynamics would not return as the main developer (but did provide support), due to them working on Marvel's Avengers, instead Eidos-Montréal were chosen to be the lead developer. Development began in 2015 following the completion of Rise of the Tomb Raider, lasting until July 2018. Shadow of the Tomb Raider was designed to conclude Lara's journey begun in the 2013 reboot, with a key theme being descent both through the jungle environment and into her personality. The setting and narrative was based on Mayan and Aztec mythologies, with the team consulting historians to create the architecture and people of Paititi. The gameplay was adjusted based on both fan feedback and the wishes of Eidos-Montréal, incorporating swimming and grappling while increasing difficulty tailoring. Camilla Luddington returned to provide voice and motion-capture work for Lara. The game cost an estimated US$110–135 million to develop, making it one of the most expensive games ever made.Shadow of the Tomb Raider received generally positive reviews from critics, with particular praise going to the game's emphasis on challenge tombs and puzzles, although some felt that the series' gameplay had become stale and lacked innovation. While opening to slow sales, the game eventually sold over 8.9 million units.
Gameplay
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective; players take on the role of Lara Croft as she explores environments across Mexico and Peru. In addition to standalone areas, the game has a large hub in the hidden city of Paititi. A new barter system allows players to trade and sell various resources gathered from the areas surrounding Paititi. There are numerous adjustments made to gameplay, which is otherwise identical to Rise of the Tomb Raider. The controls for swimming have been revised, as Lara is able to hold her breath underwater for a longer period of time due to the introduction of air pockets. She has the ability to rappel down a cliff using her climbing axe and rope. Stealth is important, as Lara can disengage from combat when she escapes from enemies' line of sight by camouflaging herself in mud, hiding in bushes or blending into densely vegetated surfaces.Like its predecessors, the game allows players to hunt wild animals, craft materials using resources collected, solve puzzles and seek out optional tombs and side quests. The game features larger tombs and more complex puzzles compared to previous installments in the reboot series. Players have the option to tailor their gameplay experience as exploration, puzzles and combat have their own difficulty settings. An Immersion Mode enables players to hear the background conversations of the locals in their native languages; when turned off the conversations are heard in the players' chosen voice over language.
Plot
In 2015, months since the events of Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara Croft (Camilla Luddington) and her friend Jonah Maiava (Earl Baylon) have dedicated themselves to stopping the activities of paramilitary organization Trinity. The two track a cell to Cozumel in Mexico, led by Pedro Dominguez (Carlos Leal), the head of Trinity's High Council. At Trinity's excavation site, Lara discovers a temple containing the Dagger of Chak Chel and references to a hidden city.
On April 16, 2020, Crytek announced that a remastered version of the game, titled Crysis Remastered would be released for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, featuring new graphical assets, effects, and software-based ray tracing. The remaster was originally intended for a simultaneous release on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC, and a trailer was scheduled for release on July 1, 2020. However, in the days previous to the trailer's release, the trailer itself and several screenshots were leaked, and were poorly received by the public for failing to provide any marked improvement over the original game. For this reason, come July 1, Crytek announced that except for the Switch, they would be postponing the release of Crysis Remastered for all platforms "by a few weeks" to improve its visual quality in an attempt to meet the users' expectations. The Switch version was announced on July 10 as coming out on July 23. On July 22, 2020, a tech analysis published by Digital Foundry, based on the Switch version, revealed that Remastered is not based on the original PC version of Crysis, but off the port (PlayStation 3/Xbox 360). On August 21, 2020, a new tech trailer was released for Remastered, showcasing improved lighting, 8K textures, raytraced effects, and setting the release date for September 18, 2020. Given the remaster was based on the PS3 / Xbox 360 version of the game, the remaster lacked the level "Ascension" that was similarly missing from the console version. This level was added back to the game in the 2.0 update to the game, which was released on December 17, 2020.
Critical reception
Upon its release, Crysis was met with critical acclaim. Review aggregator website Metacritic rated the PC version 91/100, the Xbox 360 version 81/100, and the PlayStation 3 version 81/100. The game was awarded a 98% in the PC Gamer U.S. Holiday 2007 issue, making it one of the highest rated games ever in PC Gamer, tying with Half-Life 2 and Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. GameSpot awarded Crysis a score of 9.5 out of 10, describing it as "easily one of the greatest shooters ever made". Shawn Elliott of 1Up.com gave the game a B+, praising the graphics and presentation but criticizing the last third of the game: "beautiful throughout, mostly amazing, but vegetative by the end." GameSpy gave it a 4.5 out of 5 stating that the suit powers were fun but also criticizing the multiplayer portion of the game for not having a team deathmatch. X-Play gave it a 3 out of 5 on its "Holiday Buyer's Guide" special episode, praising the graphics and physics, but criticized the steep hardware requirements as well as stating that the game is overhyped with average gameplay. GamePro honored Crysis with a score of 4.75 out of 5, saying it was "a great step forward for PC gaming", but criticized the steep hardware requirements. IGN awarded it a 9.4 out of 10, hailing it as "one of the more entertaining ballistic showdowns in quite some time". A retrospective review for bit-tech.net in June 2010 criticized the game for failing to deliver on its pre-release promise, saying that the art direction was "boring and monotonous", that the nanosuit was underwhelming and that the plot could be summarized as "Rescue these people who look to be being held captive by Koreans. Oh no Aliens!" The review concluded by saying, "Crysis was the epitome of style over substance."
Sales
According to The simExchange, the NPD Group reported that Crysis moved 86,633 retail units in the first two weeks of its release in North America, but while it beat their expectations, the sales were considered disappointing overall. Two months later, on Electronic Arts' earnings conference of the quarter, it was reported that Crysis had reached the 1 million units mark, and that it had exceeded their expectations. It received a "Silver" sales award from the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA), indicating sales of at least 100,000 copies in the United Kingdom. On the other hand, Cevat Yerli stated during an interview with PC Play in April 2008 that he was disappointed to see the game leading the charts in piracy and because of that his studio would not produce any more PC exclusives, as he believed a game such as Crysis would sell four to five times more copies if it was released on consoles.

Gameplay
Requiem is an action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective. In the game, the player assumes control of Amicia and must face off against both hostile humans and hordes of rats that are spreading the black plague. Gameplay is largely similar to the first game, though the combat system is significantly expanded. Amicia is equipped with weapons such as a knife to stab enemies, a sling that can be used to throw rocks, and a crossbow which allows her to defeat armoured opponents. Crossbow bolts, throwing pots, and rocks can be combined with alchemical mixtures. In addition to Ignifer and Extinguis, which allows the player to light and extinguish flame respectively, the game introduces tar, which increases the radius of the light source, and can be used to ignite enemies.Locations are also larger in Requiem, giving players additional options to progress. Stealth is expanded in Requiem. Unlike Innocence, Amicia would not die after being hit once by enemies. She can also return to stealth after she was discovered by enemies, and counter their attacks if she gets too close to them. Amicia's brother Hugo, who has a connection to the plague, can use an ability named "Echo" which reveals the locations of enemies through walls. Hugo can also control the hordes of rats to overwhelm enemies. Similar to the first game, the rats, which are light-averse, play a huge role in the game. Amicia and Hugo must stay in the light, or they will be devoured by the rats. Amicia can use the rats to her advantage, manipulating them to solve puzzles, or even lure them to kill enemies. The game also features a progression system in which the player will be awarded additional skills and abilities. Stealth players will unlock skills that allows them to sneak around more efficiently, while those who prefer a more lethal approach will unlock additional combat skills. The player's gear and equipment can also be upgraded at workbenches.
Plot
In 1349, six months following the events of the first game, siblings Amicia (Charlotte McBurney) and Hugo de Rune (Logan Hannan), along with their mother Beatrice (Lucy Briggs-Owen) and her apprentice Lucas (Kit Connor), seek refuge among an organization of alchemists called the Order. A hostile group of survivalist beekeepers attack the siblings, causing the Prima Macula to reawaken in Hugo. The group hides in a fortified town in Provence where Beatrice enlists the aid of Order representative Vaudin (Antony Byrne) to treat Hugo; the treatments only exacerbate his condition, resulting in the town being swarmed by rats and left in ruins. Vaudin is killed while the others escape on a boat bound for the Order's headquarters in Marseille.
Unwilling to see Hugo locked up as the Order’s test subject, Amicia takes Hugo and leaves Beatrice and Lucas to seek an island of which Hugo has recurring dreams, hoping it will lead to a cure for the Macula. Along the way, they are pursued by Provence soldiers, as well as mercenaries led by the disgraced knight Arnaud (Harry Myers). Arnaud offers to arrange transport to the island from Hugo's dreams, La Cuna. They sail to the island on the ship of Arnaud's smuggler friend Sophia (Anna Demetriou).
Arriving at La Cuna, the group discovers that the residents, led by Count Victor (Alistair Petrie) and Countess Emilie (Ellie Heydon), worship a pagan deity called the Child of Embers. Arnaud tries to coerce Hugo into summoning rats to attack Victor — whom he blames for the death of his son — but Amicia intervenes, and Arnaud is arrested. Amicia deduces that the Count and Countess are unknowingly worshipping a previous Macula carrier as the Child. With Sophia, they delve into an ancient Order temple, following the history of the carrier, Basilius, and his protector, Aelia.
Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir battled each of the Valkyries, piecing together what could have happened to them. After defeating eight of the Valkyries and finding their way to the Throne of Eight, they were able to force Sigrún to appear and faced her in a tremendous battle that proved one of their most difficult, with Sigrún's might easily proving a challenge for the former god of war. After a perilous struggle, however, Kratos and Atreus defeated Sigrún and freed her spirit. There she revealed Odin's role in the Valkyries' troubles and thanked them for freeing her and her sisters, reuniting briefly with Mimir. Now free, she disappeared to continue her duty in leading her sisters to bring the worthy dead to Valhalla.
God of War Ragnarök
After being freed by Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir, Sigrún was succeeded by Gná after she and her sisters-in-arms decided to defect the All-Father and go into hiding in Vanaheim. She would later help Freya in regaining her Valkyrie wings, as well as her warrior spirit.
Sigrún is later found again by Freya, and thanks to some Vanir magic, she and her sisters were reincarnated in new physical forms, which prevented them from being corrupted again. The day before the invasion of Asgard, at Tyr's Bridge, she asked to be alone with Mimir in case if she would later die in battle. The next day, Sigrún was present in the Realm Travel Room of the temple when Kratos blew Gjallarhorn in order to access Asgard. During the final battle, she along with her sisters worked to sever the Einherjar's link to Valhalla, so that Odin's army could not revive itself. Later, in the aftermath of Ragnarök, Sigrún was among the survivors in Midgard.
Appearance
God of War (2018)
Like all Valkyries, Sigrun's face is never shown. She instead always wears a golden helmet inspired by and evocative of a dragon. Due to her corruption, her skin is an unhealthily pale blue, and her large metal valkyrie wings are golden with blood red feathers - an emblem of her rank as Queen of the Valkyries.
God of War Ragnarök
After Freya resurrected her with Seidr magic, her skin returned to its original healthy color. Additionally, like all Shield Maidens, her original Valkyrie wings were replaced with more organic-looking birdlike wings.
Personality
Sigrun is a very faithful and honorable person to her family, her Valkyrie sisters and especially to Freya. After Freya divorced Odin and he banished her from Asgard, Sigrun reluctantly agreed to take the mantle of queen and did everything possible to serve Odin. After Odin cursed her and her sisters, she had no choice but to lock them up so that they would not cause any harm, but the curse ended up affecting her and she had no choice but to isolate herself, the lockdown and the curse they turned into a being full of anger and thirsty for blood.
Powers & Abilities
As the Queen of the Valkyries, Sigrún is an immensely powerful and dangerous warrior, able to battle against Kratos and Atreus for an extended period of time, before she was ultimately overwhelmed and defeated. In the codex, Kratos described her as the most lethal opponent he and Atreus had faced in their prior adventures, implying she is even stronger than Baldur. She is the third most powerful of all the Valkyries, only surpassed by Freya and Gná, the other Valkyrie Queens.
Powers
Superhuman Strength: As the Queen of the Valkyries, Sigrún holds immense levels of strength that far surpass the other Valkyries, as noted by Mimir. She was even capable of holding her own against Kratos for some time before being defeated.
Superhuman Durability: Sigrún has incredibly high durability, allowing her to survive numerous attacks from Kratos and Atreus before finally going down.
Valkyrie Wings: Sigrún possesses a pair of metallic bird-like wings which double as weapons thanks to their feathers that can be deployed as slashing weapons and hurled as projectiles. As Shield Maiden, she attained more organic wings which lacked metallic feathers and armor plating yet still provided her great mobility and flight.
Immortality: As a Valkyrie, Sigrún is immortal. Only a sufficiently powerful weapon or an extremely powerful being can kill her.
Pyrokinesis: Like Göndul, Sigrún can shoot fire and lava from the sky.
Cryokinesis: Like Hildr, Sigrún can shoot ice hail projectiles.
Typhokinesis: Like Geirdriful, Sigrún can generate smoke shockwaves.

Phalanx Location
Phalanx is found behind a locked door straight from the start of World 1-1 (Boletarian Palace or "Gates of Boletaria"). Find where the lever to open the locked door is located in our walkthrough video at 38:45. Click here to watch it.
Strong Offense
Phalanx can be easily toppled by a class that primarily uses melee. Simply two-hand your chosen weapon, coat it with Turpentine, and attack Phalanx directly. Do not use lock on. If you lock on your mobility will be slightly limited when you need to heal or recover Stamina. Don't hesitate either. The worst thing you can possibly do is stand around hesitating while Phalanx pummels you with its projectile attacks. Retreat back a few steps when your Stamina gets low, then rinse and repeat. Hide behind a pillar and heal when necessary.
Using this tactic you can often take out 4 or 5 of the Hoplites at one time as they all group extremely close together on Phalanx's body. This works best for the Knight, Priest, Soldier, Temple Knight, and Hunter classes. It also works with the Royal, Barbarian, and Wanderer classes although players using these classes will find themselves healing more often. The Wanderer class in particular has a very fast attack animation, but a half second wind-up between each hit that can cause trouble. This approach does not work well for Thief or Magician classes.
Fire strategy
Use Firebombs to kill as many Hoplites as you can (you can find a total of 11 in 1-1 or purchase more from the Dregling Merchant for 500 Souls each). Run behind a pillar and apply Turpentine to your weapon. Sprint around to the back of the Phalanx and look for a side that's not covered with Hoplites. Burn the Demon until it's dead. Using weapons with both hands will decrease the chance of being stunned should you hit one of the Hoplites shields.
Fire-less strategy
You can pick off Phalanx's little buddies without using Firebombs or Turpentine. Just run around the perimeter of the room and dodge the spears. Some of them will break away and you can get behind them and kill them off pretty fast since their backs are vulnerable. Just keep doing that until you've killed enough of them. As above, when a hole is formed hack away at phalanx. He isn't very hard.
Magic
For the Magician and Royalty class, the Hoplites can be easily taken out with Flame Toss or Soul Arrow. Keep moving sideways and kill them one by one, or run across the room to scatter the Hoplites, pick off stragglers on the way. Hide behind pillars to heal or replenish mana. Since the Magician class does not have a mana regeneration ring, buying a couple of Fresh Spice from Blacksmith Boldwin before entering the boss area is advised.
Attacks & Counters
Phalanx is particularly weak to fire-based attacks.
The Phalanx will also regenerate its health, if not attacked for a period of time until the last Hoplite is slain.
The Hoplites will re-spawn, after a period of around 2 minutes or so per small group of Hoplite, until the last one is slain. They will also regenerate their health, if they re-attach themselves to the Phalanx, after being hurt.
Phalanx in itself is a harmless blob of darkness, having no real form of attack. It relies on its coating of Hoplites to attack you with spear throws and stabs (at close range). However, it can move, albeit slowly, to back the player into a corner, and release its Hoplites voluntarily in an attempted flanking maneuver. Phalanx has exactly 35 Hoplites upon spawning, but can regenerate them when they die, as well as create more to exceed the original count. As more Hoplites are slain, the remaining creatures will slowly move to cover the side of the Phalanx that faces the player, leaving the other side exposed.
Phalanx Lore
The Phalanx is named after a defensive tactic used by the ancient Greeks, most notably the soldiers of Sparta, the Spartans. It entails forming a sort of wall using a group of soldiers' shields and thrusting at opponents with spears from behind the wall. The wall could also be tilted upward to deflect incoming arrows.

Black Ops Cold War is set during the early-to-mid 1980s of the Cold War, beginning 13 years after the events of Black Ops. Its story centers around a pursuit of the alleged Soviet spy Perseus, whose stated goal is to subvert the United States and tilt the balance of power toward the Soviet Union. The game's multiplayer introduced new game modes as well as new map dynamics and elements, carrying over some design choices introduced in 2019's Modern Warfare. For the Zombies mode, Treyarch introduced several changes to the mode's core gameplay and the new "Dark Aether" storyline, which acts as a sequel to the "Aether" storyline that ran from 2008's World at War to 2018's Black Ops 4.
The game was originally developed by Raven and Sledgehammer Games and was not intended to be an entry in the Black Ops sub-series. However, the development suffered from disagreements among the two teams, resulting in Activision placing Treyarch in charge of the game's development in 2019, with Raven acting as a co-developer to them. Marketing for the game began in August 2020 and was done in different forms, including certain Call of Duty content creators receiving slide projectors, puzzles made to be solved online by fans, and a website showcasing historical Cold War events. A public multiplayer beta for the game was also made live in October.
Upon release, Black Ops Cold War received generally favorable reviews from critics, who praised its campaign and selection of multiplayer game modes, while criticizing its technical issues and lack of innovation. It became the best-selling title of 2020 in the United States. A sequel, reported to be set during the Gulf War, is expected to be released in late 2024.
Gameplay
Campaign
Black Ops Cold War's campaign allows players to assume a custom character, codenamed "Bell", with the ability to choose their intelligence agency, skin tone, nationality, and gender; as well as different personality traits that provide in-game perks. For the first time since 2012's Black Ops II, the campaign features multiple endings, dependent on player choice throughout the campaign.
Multiplayer
Multiplayer features new and returning game modes, as well as maps that accommodate both the traditional 6v6 format, as well as larger 12v12 combat. The game also introduced a new game mode named "Fireteam", which can support up to 40 players. The Create-a-Class system from Modern Warfare returns, with two major differences: field upgrades are implemented as part of class loadouts, and each class has a wildcard choice out of four possible ones: Gunfighter (allows up to 8 primary weapon attachments), Perk Greed (allows 2 perks from each perk type for a total of 6 usable perks), Danger Close (double grenade equipment), or Lawbreaker (allows mixing and matching any weapon/perk type in any slot). Like Modern Warfare, Cold War also support cross-platform play and cross-platform progression. Following an update, the progression system for multiplayer is integrated with Call of Duty: Warzone, allowing for a unified level system across Cold War, Warzone and Modern Warfare. In addition, Operator characters and weapons from Cold War are also added to Warzone to be used alongside Modern Warfare Operators and weapons, though the multiplayer modes remain separated and do not share Operators and weapons.
Zombies
Zombies features a new storyline titled "Dark Aether" which expands on the original Aether story, concluded in Black Ops 4, while also staying true to the main narrative of the campaign. Instead of playing as predefined characters, players can take on the role of Operator characters from Multiplayer, as part of a CIA response team codenamed "Requiem". Progression from Multiplayer is shared with Zombies, as players are able to use any weapon to start a Zombies match, alongside Gunsmith, scorestreaks and field upgrades, in addition to returning mechanics such as wallbuys, the Mystery Box, Pack-a-Punch and past fan-favorite Perks.
The gameplay is similar to the previous 2018 installment. It features combo-based combat, as well as puzzle and role-playing elements. The gameplay has been revamped from the previous game: in addition to Kratos's main weapons, a magical battle axe and his double-chained blades, he also acquires a magical spear and his shield has become more versatile, with different types of shields that have differing offensive and defensive abilities. His son Atreus, as well as some other characters, provide assistance in combat and can be passively controlled. Additionally, and for the first time in the series, there are some story missions where the player takes full control of Atreus; his gameplay is similar to Kratos, but he uses his magical bow as his weapon. There are also more enemy types and mini-bosses than in the previous game. Originally slated for a 2021 release, the game was delayed in part due to Kratos actor Christopher Judge's health problems in August 2019, and later, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on development. A free downloadable content pack titled Valhalla was released on December 12, 2023, and serves as an epilogue to Ragnarök, following Kratos and companion Mímir in a series of trials within Valhalla in order for Kratos to come to terms with his past life in Greece.
Ragnarök garnered universal acclaim from critics and was praised for its storytelling, characters, visuals, level design, music, and overall improvements to the gameplay over its predecessor. The game sold 5.1 million units in its first week, making it the fastest-selling first-party launch week in PlayStation history, with over 15 million units sold as of November 2023. At The Game Awards 2022, Ragnarök received a leading 11 nominations, including Game of the Year, winning six. It received a leading 12 nominations at the 26th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards, ultimately winning seven awards including Adventure Game of the Year. It received a leading 15 nominations at the 19th British Academy Games Awards, the most nominations for any game in the history of the ceremony, from which it won six awards, including the EE Game of the Year Award.
Gameplay
God of War Ragnarök is a third-person action-adventure game. It features an over-the-shoulder player-controlled camera, and the game is presented with no camera cuts or loading screens. The gameplay is similar to the previous installment, God of War (2018), including being single-player-only. Throughout the game, players battle Norse mythological foes, with more enemy types than in the prior entry, including newer enemies, such as einherjar, wyverns, stalkers (centaur-like creatures with antlers), phantoms, human raiders, and nokkens, among many others. The developers also added more mini-bosses to give the game more variety. The player primarily controls the character Kratos in combo-based combat and puzzle game elements. Kratos's main weapons are a magical battle axe called the Leviathan Axe, and his signature double-chained blades, the Blades of Chaos. He also dons his original Guardian Shield, and utilizes hand-to-hand combat. The Leviathan Axe is infused with ice elemental magic. It can be thrown at enemies and magically summoned back to his hand, similar to Thor's hammer Mjölnir. The weapon can be thrown at environmental objects to trigger a damaging explosion, and freeze objects and some enemies in place for puzzle-solving until resummoned. The Blades of Chaos, infused with fire elemental magic, are a pair of blades attached to chains that can be swung around in various maneuvers. A new mechanic for Ragnarök is that the blades can be used like a grappling hook to traverse over chasms, and pick up objects to hurl at enemies.
SPOILER WARNING
You will not be able to get to this Nornir Chest for a good while into the game. As such, BEWARE OF SPOILERS!!
There's only one Nornir Chest to find in Niflheim, so there's no Contents listing here. Just scroll down!
Aesir Prison Wreckage Nornir Chests
This Nornir Chest is found on the second floor (that is, second-from-the-top floor) of the Aesir Prison, however getting to it is one of the more brain-tickling puzzles in the game, since it’s blocked by walls. First, you’ll want to clear out the tower first of any enemies and use the two Wind Vent frames to help swing down. You can move the Wind Vents using the chain cranks.
Eventually, you’ll make your way to the bottom floor. We’ll start our instructions here to act as a common reset point.
For clarity, we’ll refer to the floors in ascending order. So the bottom floor is Floor 4, while the top floor is Floor 1.
First, look for the F Rune’s idol sitting on the ice in the middle square space of this floor, as shown in the picture above.
Next, jump up the Eastern swing pole to get from Floor 4 to Floor 3 (you’ll be jumping South-East).
As soon as you make it up, look left to the North-East to spot a room you can enter: the T Rune’s idol will be sitting in the right-hand windowsill. If you’ve not opened the gate into this room, you’ll also have to kill a Dark Elf inside.
If you’re also interested in the Legendary Chest and Relic here, you should look for the chain crank in the North-Western corner of the room and use it to raise a Wind Pole frame up as high as it’ll go.
Now head to the Southern corner of the floor, where you should find a blue-framed window you can vault through.
Inside the room, turn around and look up: you’ll see a cracked wall you can breach through with the Blades of Chaos. This will get you up to Floor 3.
When you get to the top, look North to spot a gate you can yank open via a grapple point. This will be where both the R Rune and the Nornir Chest are! Smash the idol, then open the chest.
If you also want to get the Legendary Chest and Relic here (and used the chain crank on Floor 3), open the gate, head through it and then look right through the opening: you’ll now be able to climb up to the Legendary Chest on Floor 1 using the swing pole you moved earlier! If you want to access the rest of Floor 1, use the grapple point here to open another gate.
If you’re looking for more Nornir Chests across the nine realms, check out our dedicated Nornir Chests hub page. For more Collectibles, visit our Artifacts, Legendary Chests, Lore and Odin’s Ravens pages!

Once at the Lifeinvader offices, Michael waits at the back entrance as a programmer walks outside for his cigarette break and lets him in. He mistakes Michael for a tech support agent and asks Michael to remove a number of pornography pop-ups from his computer and install some anti-virus software. After this is done, he mentions that the prototype is in the demo room; Michael finds it, plants the explosive inside it, and leaves.
Michael lets Lester know that he's rigged the phone and heading home to watch Norris reveal the prototype at a keynote on TV, and they debate Michael's favorite entertainment, classic Vinewood movies. When he gets home, he kicks Tracey - who was watching Fame or Shame - out of the living room, and switches over to Weazel News to watch the event broadcast live. Waiting until Norris reveals the phone, Michael dials the number. Once Norris answers, confused at the unexpected call, the phone explodes and kills him instantly to the crowd's shock and horror. An official waves to the camera crew to stop broadcasting and the signal feed goes dead. Michael is taken by surprise at the force of the detonation.
The events of the mission Repossession occur during the same in-game week as this one, according to an internet article after the Repossession mission.
The scene where Michael shows the middle fingers to Lester's security camera can be seen on Lester's artwork from Grand Theft Auto Online.
While the anti-virus is scanning the computer, an Epsilon Program file appears very quickly. The anti-virus also shows Lifeinvader.exe as a virus.
Among the pop-up ads, the player can see adverts for Brucie Kibbutz's Bull Shark Testosterone, and an online poker game called Poker in the Rear (poke her in the rear, another example of Rockstar Games' sexual humour).
The keynote is held at the Vinewood Bowl, the only time in the game an event takes place there not counting the Fame or Shame broadcasts.
Should Michael fail to call Norris during the press conference, he will comment that somebody was supposed to call him and storms off, breaking the prototype by throwing it at the stage. This will still fail the mission.
The phone bomb may be a reference to the 2009 crime thriller Law Abiding Citizen, where Clyde Sheldon assassinates a judge with a rigged cell phone bomb.
The mission name is a reference to the act of sending someone a friend request on Facebook, which Lifeinvader is a parody of, and Lester's request to Michael asking him to perform a favour.
The scene of Michael taking the TV remote from Tracey was used in Michael's Character Trailer. In the trailer Tracey wore silver pants; in the game she wears purple pants.
Some of the pop-ups play ringtones from GTA IV, as "Lesbians", "The One for Me" and "Hooker" can be heard if one listens carefully.
Michael calls Lester, who says the incident has generated a huge profit for him on the stock market, and agrees to help Michael. He also sends a text with a link to the in-game stock market for Michael to later browse at his leisure.
Mission Objectives
Go to the Suburban store in Vinewood.
Go to the Lifeinvader offices.
Go to the rear entrance.
Follow the programmer.
Close the popups to reveal the antivirus shortcut.
Run the antivirus software.
Rig the prototype.
Exit the building.
Watch the keynote at Michael's house.
Wait for Jay Norris to pull out the prototype phone and then give him a call.
Gold Medal Objectives
Time - Complete within 08:30.
Skip the cutscenes.
Take the backdoor again while leaving. This will allow Michael to start running earlier.
Popups Clear - Clear all popups within 32 seconds.
Move as fast as possible. Otherwise activate Michael's ability before the cutscene triggers, this will slow down time allowing the player to clear the popups in less time.
When clearing the popups, you won't be able to see Michael's ability, however after finishing the mission it will show that you cleared the popups in a shorter amount of time.
Don't bother trying to start up the anti-virus software until all pop-ups have been closed as it won't work.
Deaths
Jay Norris - Killed by the explosion of the prototype phone during the Lifeinvader event.

Gameplay
The game is played from a first-person perspective. The playable character Jack is very agile, being able to traverse dangerous environments by dashing, jumping, wall-running, and sliding. He can also utilize a grappling hook to swing through the environment, and use "Sensory Boost", which briefly slows down time, allowing Jack to strafe through the air. The game also introduces a stamina meter, which dictates how frequent players can dash and deflect attacks. While a sword is the player's primary weapon, Jack also has access to several special abilities, which can be used in both combat scenarios and solving puzzles. For instance, the "Shuriken" ability, which allows Jack to throw multiple electrical throwing stars, can be used to stun enemies as well as hitting distant switches. Both Jack and his enemy have very limited health, and both can be killed in one hit.In the game, Jack must venture beyond the Dharma Tower to defeat a group of violent cyber ninja AI cult. Ghostrunner 2 introduces vehicular combat. During certain levels, Jack is able to ride a motorcycle while combating enemies and avoiding obstacles. Levels in the game are more non-linear, with players being able to plan their own routes before confronting the enemies. As players progress in the game, they can purchase upgrades that further enhance Jack's abilities. The motorcycle, however, cannot be upgraded.
Development and release
One More Level, which is based in Poland, served as the game's developer. Game director Radoslaw Ratusznik described the game as an "evolution" to the original Ghostrunner. While it was designed to be challenging, the team introduced various gameplay enhancements to make it more approachable to new players. For instance, the team introduced an active blocking mechanic for players who were struggling with the game's fast movement system. Samurai Jack was cited by lead gameplay designer Lukasz Wabik as one of the game's inspirations. Jack's motorcycle was added to the game because the team felt that it aligned with the game's fast-paced combat and its cyberpunk aesthetic. In March 2021, 505 Games, the co-publisher of original game, announced that they had acquired the intellectual property from All In Games for €5 million. The existence of a sequel was first confirmed by 505 Games in May 2021. The game was officially revealed in May 2023. The game is currently scheduled to release for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on 26 October 2023. Players who pre-ordered the game or purchased its more expensive Deluxe ion will have access to several in-game weapon and character skins. A demo for the game was released for PlayStation 5 on 15 September 2023.
Reception
Ghostrunner 2 received "generally favorable" reviews from critics, according to review aggregator website Metacritic. The game was nominated for "Best Action Game" at The Game Awards 2023.Lauren Bergin of PCGamesN scored the game 9/10 saying "I am so glad that I took on this Ghostrunner 2 review – it may just be one of my favorite games of the year."

Algos is the flesh-like monolith boss that can be found in the Tower of Sisyphus. It has a human-like skeleton in the center, which moves when enacting attacks, and a large purple eye at the top. Unlike previous bosses, fights against Algos do not initially include all three phases, instead adding phases as the player gets farther up the tower. Algos can only be damaged in its purple eye and has attacks that are extremely difficult to dodge, focusing on area denial and aggressively tracking Selene (two notable examples are the various flesh turrets it can summon around itself that fire squares full of purple projectiles, and the orange tracking beam it fires at Selene, which aggressively tracks Selene's current location and requires good dodge timing). Exercising extreme caution is advised for Algos, as, while Disruptors and high-damage sources can make short work of the boss, it is very much capable of making short work of Selene as well.
Phase 1
#Algos is more distant, but still aggressive in its attacks. It fires purple orb barrages (both random and rectangular-shaped), a yellow orb attack that flies across the floor, a yellow beam attack that leaves a yellow orb wave in its wake, a quad orange orb beam attack that aggressively tracks the player's current location, an attack where it fires purple orbs into the sky that fall onto the player after a short time, and a single orange beam.
Phase 2
Algos gains fleshy spider legs and becomes more aggressive. Its starts to use fleshy turrets that circle around it, blocking attacks and firing purple orb barrages. Keep good movement to keep dodging attacks.
Phase 3
Algos uses its fleshy spider legs and tears the sides of its head open, creating the appearance of bat ears. Algos now also creates trackers, energy waves, and an orange orb wall that flattens out across the arena. Fleshy turrets are also created and fire much faster. Attacks in this phase are rapid and unrelenting. Killing the boss quickly in this phase is strongly encouraged.
The Tower of Sisyphus, an infinite ascending gauntlet of increasingly dangerous phases, with each containing twenty floors. The first phase looks like a normal tower, climbing up linearly through floors and encountering enemies. The second phase is scattered and spread out in the sky, teleporting to separate, higher platforms as you go up. The third and repeating phases are similar to the second, but feature an orange sky and organic growths throughout the platforms. At the end of each phase, you face a giant floating boss called Algos, who is a mass of skin and flesh with a skeleton in his center and large, purple eye above it. This purple eye is the only place where Algos can be damaged. As you go through more and more phases, you fight through all of Algos' forms, up to three. The second phase sees Algos tearing out spider-like legs from his body. The third phase sees Algos using these spider-like legs to tear out parts of the top of his spiked head, giving him large, skin bat ears. After defeating Algos, you gain a Permanent Malfunction to make future phases harder, and are able to purchase items at a Fabricator before moving to the next phase.
In #Ascension, two new endings are also found by playing through the Tower of #Sisyphus and visiting Zahariel Hospital via lying down on a hospital bed. Zahariel Hospital changes every time you visit, expanding on the themes of the original story while diving more into Selene's mother, Theia, and their relationship. The contents of the Hospital reveal several things, such as the existence of a child in Selene's family called Alex (whose name is crossed out in a child's drawing) and Selene likely being responsible for Theia's death and the fire that burned down her house. The Hospital also confirms other things, such that Theia's relationship with Selene was abusive and likely carried over to her relationship with Helios, and there were two car crashes (one with Theia and Selene, where Theia's injuries (exacerbated by her saving Selene from the crashed car) result in her became paralyzed from the crash, and the other with Selene and Helios, where Selene, mentally unstable, leaves Helios in the crashed car). The first ending, unlocked by finding six Poppies in separate runs through Tower, sees Selene bring a bed-ridden Theia a bouquet of Poppies and Theia offer Selene a hug, which they never used to do.

Upon hugging, Theia vanishes and Xaos appears to whip Selene back to the bottom floor of the Tower. The second ending, only available after the first, is found by returning to the hospital and to Theia's room. After a prompt to lay down on Theia's hospital bed, Selene finds herself in an empty space filled with other corpses of herself. She takes this moment as an earned break in the cycle before being sent back yet again.
Finally, in the Tower of Sisyphus, a new item can also be found called a Disgorger. Disgorgers are high-damage weapons that can be used instead of your held weapon for a short period of time. After beginning to wield a Disgorger, its charge will start to deplete, which depletes even faster while firing it. While teleporting from room to room, a Disgorger's charge does not deplete. Disgorgers seemingly stack either a lot or infinitely and various different types of Disgorgers can be found while playing through the Tower of Sisyphus. However, picking up a new type of Disgorger will convert all held Disgorgers to that type. Finally, depending on whether or not you finish the game before getting the Disgorger, the dialogue Selene says upon picking it up will vary, with early game Selene rationally analyzing it, while endgame "crazy Selene" calls it a twitching gift pulsing with power.
Types of Disgorgers:
AST-AC-032: Dire-Beam Disgorger
Unleashes a focused beam attack that inflicts catastrophic damage.
Fires a constant green beam at enemies.
AST-AC-033: Blight-Wave Disgorger
Launches a devastating swarm of target-seeking projectiles.
Fires yellow projectiles that swarm in on enemies.
AST-AC-034: Quad-Swarm Disgorger
Unloads an overwhelming barrage of rapid-fire blasts.
Fires red projectiles in a spinning pattern.
AST-AC-035: Absolution Disgorger
Releases an explosive shot charged with destructive energy.
Charges up blue rounds that explode on impact. Impact and blast radius both greatly scale with how long the shots were charged before firing.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a platform game. Unlike previous LittleBigPlanet entries with 2.5D platforming, it features a range of perspectives and 3D movement. Players control Sackboy on world maps which give access to a multitude of platforming levels and bonus content. As Sackboy completes each stage new ones unlock allowing him to progress further. All levels contain collectable objects called Dreamer Orbs which must be collected en-masse to progress to the end of the game.
Sackboy’s move set is greatly expanded from previous entries and players can now slap at will, roll around, nosedive, pick-up objects and flutter jump, to name a few. Moves can be chained together to create combos that allow skilled players to travel greater distances. Each level in the game employs a series of interactable objects that require at least one of Sackboy’s moves to progress.
Sackboy also has access to multiple stages where he can use new powerups. The Grappling Hook, now called the Clawstring, returns from LittleBigPlanet 2, allowing Sackboy to grab onto object from afar, the Whirltool is a boomerang-like device that can be thrown to defeat enemies and break objects and finally the Plasma Pumps allow Sackboy to hover in the air and fire energy blasts.
Content creation
The game does not feature any Create Mode akin to LittleBigPlanet entries, only making certain nods to it through collectables.
Players can still customize their Sackboy via ZomZom’s Shop. ZomZom is a travelling haberdasher that returns after his appearance in LittleBigPlanet 3. In his shop players can buy new costumes, try on collected outfits and even paint costume pieces. Costumes created by the player can be saved and are then available to choose when a level is entered.
Multiplayer
The game is fully playable in both local and online multiplayer allowing up to 4 players to experience the game together. There are stages in each world that require multiple players to enter and are specifically designed so players must work together to progress. The game originally did not ship with online functionality. The feature was added in a patch a month later on 17 December 2020.
Plot
In Craftworld, in the village of Loom, the Sackpeople are enjoying their lives when the villain Vex (Richard E. Grant) rips through the sky and begins to suck everything up with his machines in order to enslave the Sackpeople to make his Topsy-Turver machine to take over Craftworld with his evil Uproar. Sackboy manages to avoid being enslaved and steals the plans to the Topsy-Turver, escaping into a rocket. He uses the plans to travel all around Craftworld with the help of an elder sackperson, Scarlet (Dawn French) and tries to prevent Vex from getting the final materials he needs to finish the Topsy-Turver and take over the world, solving many of the issues Vex caused and gathering Dreamer Orbs along the way.
Later on the journey, Vex ambushes Sackboy and steals the latter's Dreamer Orbs, revealing that he manipulated him into gathering them to fuel the Topsy-Turver. Encouraged by Scarlet, Sackboy ventures to the center of Craftworld, where Vex intends to replace the Tree of Imagination with his machine. There he confronts Vex again and rendezvous with Scarlet who reveals a plan to destroy the machine when Vex suddenly knocks her unconscious. Venturing into the Topsy-Turver, Sackboy confronts Vex once more, defeating him and destroying the machine. Afterwards, Scarlet knights Sackboy as a Knitted Knight as peace is restored in Loom and Craftworld.

Returnal Wheelchair In House
This is where things get tough since the objective required to get the sixth sequence isn't easy. First, you have to finish the game by beating the Ophion boss in Abyssal Scar and going through the hole formed by the boss. When you're back at the airship, you have to go to every single biome and find a Sunface fragment.
When you've finished the sixth sequence, you'll get the Car Keys that can be used at the car in the area after you defeat the Ophion boss. This will lead you to the secret ending of Returnal.
You will find these fragments at random places across these biomes, and most of them will use the white globe that unlocks hidden platforms. Here's a tip for finding these shards in each biome:
Overgrown Ruins
Found inside an optional door marked by a blue triangle. As soon as you enter the correct room, you'll see the white sphere leading you to the fragment.
Crimson Wastes
Also found inside a blue triangle door, and you can differentiate the correct room since it has the effect that removes your dash and red toxic water.
Derelict Citadel
Cross the main bridge that you opened during the main walkthrough, and you'll find the fragment on the other side.
Echoing Ruins
Found inside an optional room where the dash is disabled once again. The room has a platform extending into the red toxic water with one laser mechanism in the middle.
Fractured Wastes
You'll find the white sphere to reveal hidden platforms inside the room with the red door.
Abyssal Scar
This will be in the first few rooms. Try to find a chest that is on an open platform after two jumps. When you get to the chest, a further path with a white sphere will be revealed.
Once you get all the fragments, find the house for the last time and enter it. To finish this sequence, you simply have to enter the room to the left when you go past the hallway beside the stairs. Before you head downstairs, make sure you go upstairs and claim the eye cube. This will give you the Melted Globe. This artifact increases your chance of salvage based on the keys you have.
While the main focus of Returnal is its combat, there are still some story aspects of the game that will slowly reveal how Selene got to the rogue planet. Apart from scarce cutscenes that trigger after defeating certain bosses, Selene's house will be your main place to know more about the story.
Returnal: Tips For Beginners
You've probably seen this house if you've played the game for a couple of hours. It can be found in a special room that has a Translocator in it as well. You can only find the haunted house in the Overgrown Ruins and Echoing Ruins biomes, and they're the first and fourth biome respectively.
First House Sequence Guide
Returnal Entering The First House Sequence
There are a total of six house sequences in Returnal, and you need to complete some objectives to unlock them. To enter the first house sequence, you'll have to find the House Key in the Overgrown Ruins biome. There are two ways to find this key:
You can either enter a specific room that has one Xenoglyph and the key is shown with a blue aura at the end of the giant room.
Or you can defeat the Phrike boss in this area, and you'll get the key when you get to the house in a subsequent run.
When you have the key, you can use the Translocator nearby to get to the house area and enter it for the first time. Go through the first sequence to unlock the Astronaut Figurine artifact at the end. This artifact allows you to get a second life whenever you're defeated, and it resurrects you at the same place where you lose all your health.
During each sequence of the house, you'll find a brown cube with black eyes on it. You have to pick up this cube if you want to get the artifact after the sequence ends. If you miss it in a certain sequence, you can't do it again.
Though you can still unlock the respective artifact by finding it randomly or getting it from Cthonos.
Second House Sequence Guide
Returnal Astronaut Knocking On House Door
Once you've finished the house sequence for the first time, it'll be locked and you won't be able to enter it in your subsequent runs. To unlock the second sequence, you have to defeat Phrike and enter the Crimson Wastes biome once. After doing that, you'll be able to enter the house again when you find it in subsequent runs.

An emulated version of the game was released digitally for PS4/PS5 in July 2022 and got added to the PlayStation Plus Premium catalog of classics.
Plot
LocoRoco Midnight Carnival is based on a secret carnival-like base, created by the BuiBui, a red, mischievous version of the MuiMui. The title shows that the LocoRoco were quietly sleeping, while in the background, a BuiBui pulls on a nearby lever (cleverly designed to just look like a star), opening a trapdoor under the LocoRoco, sending them into a chute, taking them into a cannon, which shows the LocoRoco "Boing!" power. The cannon sends the LocoRoco into the BuiBui's secret base, the midnight carnival.
LocoRoco Midnight Carnival MC
This is the PSP ported version of Locoroco Midnight Carnival for the Xperia Play. It was available via PSN store for Japanese Customers whom had purchased the NTT DoCoMo variant of Xperia Play. Code was sent to email after registering through the Campaign Navi application.
Legacy
In PlayStation Home, an apartment space was released based on LocoRoco. The apartment space is called "Loco Island" and features different LocoRocos on the island and a shop where users can purchase different LocoRoco themed virtual items such as crowns and glasses. There's also a video screen advertising LocoRoco. It is one of the download-only PSP titles no longer available for purchase on PSP as a result of the PSP PlayStation Store closing on July 2, 2021. The game is currently available to download on the PSVita PlayStation Store. It was later re-released on PS4.
Reception
LocoRoco Midnight Carnival received "mixed or average" reviews, according to review aggregator Metacritic.

This area can be accessed through the Sewers Warp Gate room. In this area you will be racing against the rising lava.
The first room to access Sewers Hell is located below the warp gate.
Upon entering the warp gate you will see one Cube Bit and a rotational device.
Lower the water to reveal a Tetris code wall and enter this at the wall:
Right Up Left Down A LT RT A
As soon as you enter the red area rotate the screen to locate a door.
In this room you will find a tuning fork. The code for the tuning fork is as follows:
LT LT RT LT LT RT RT RT
When you leave this room began moving up and racing against the lava.
The only tricky part of this area is the rotating platforms. In order to properly master this area you must time your jumps perfectly. As the platforms are about to rotate they make a subtle move. Right after this movement is when you need to jump.

Returnal PS5 Gameplay Walkthrough - Abyssal Scar (Ending)
At the bottom of the ocean, Selene finds the "entity" that continues to resurrect her after each death. The screen cuts to black, and then we see a car traveling through a dark forest at night.
A child in the backseat of the car holds Octo, the plushie squid that you may be familiar with if you played through the haunted houses segments earlier in the game. In the background, Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Öyster Cult plays on the car radio.
The child says "Mom, do you see the White Shadow?" moments before the radio begins to fizz out with static. The camera turns to the radio, which is dialed to the signal 107.7. The car's clock also reads 8:36 PM, and the outside temperature is 52 degrees Fahrenheit.
Trivia: Each of these motifs (the song, the numbers, the scenery) show up throughout Returnal, but the numbers 8:36 are especially prevalent. They first appear at the end of Act 1 as the news broadcast of Selene's apparent return from Atropos is played at 8:36 AM. Selene is also said to have lived for 63 years and eight days after returning to Earth, which, backwards, is 836. The meaning of 836 can be interpreted in any number of ways, but a few Internet searches suggest that its most common interpretation among Numerologists is something along the lines of "your prayers have been received, be ready to receive rewards", or just general good luck and good fortune.
As the driver (revealed to be Selene, or someone who looks just like Selene) looks up from the radio, she narrowly spots an astronaut in the middle of the road. Braking hard and spinning the wheel sharply as to avoid hitting the astronaut, she loses control over the vehicle, which crashes through the railing of a bridge and into the water below.
The car sinks to the bottom of the river, and the scene skips forward a few moments to show both passengers unconscious in a car now filled with water. A mysterious entity, presumably the one we saw earlier, appears and shines a bright red light on Selene, waking her up.
Selene attempts to grab the child's hand, but is sucked out of the car by the mysterious entity before she can get a grip. The child is presumably left in the interior of the car at the bottom of the river.
A final underwater shot of the water's surface is interrupted as a thick foggy mass appears to block out the screen, cutting the shot to black before Returnal's title card appears on screen and the credits roll.
Secret Ending Explained
Returnal - How to Unlock the Secret Ending
Returnal's true ending is hidden behind an entire third act.
In it, Selene returns to the car that she left underwater in the previous ending. This time, she's teleported to a strange void where she finds a skeletal alien sitting in a wheelchair. The alien looks up at Selene just long enough for the two to make eye contact. Well, eye socket contact if you want to get specific about it.
Then the alien leaps up and weak-handedly attempts to strangle Selene, who cries out "I told you to leave me alone!" before pushing the alien off of her.
The alien calls out for Selene, revealing itself to be Theia (but only if you're playing with subtitles turned on). If you didn't pick it up earlier in the campaign, Theia is Selene's mother, who appeared in several earlier haunted houses. It's clear now that Theia is a point of guilt for Selene.
The camera zooms into Selene's head, and we now see things from her perspective. She looks down at her hands, then turns left to see the oncoming car that we saw in the first ending. It's apparent that we are now seeing things from the perspective of the astronaut that the car narrowly swerved to avoid.
We skip to an underwater shot from the perspective of Selene, who is now trying to swim to the water's surface. The screen fades to white, then cuts to black, and we hear Selene gasp the final word, "Helios."
What It All Means
Returnal leaves us with more questions than answers. Its true ending seems to suggest that Selene is both the driver and the astronaut that runs her off the road, which further suggests the existence of parallel realities even on Returnal's version of Earth.
Further, we see evidence throughout Returnal that, at different points in time, Selene is clearly both guilty about the loss of her child and of her mother. We already know that Selene's mother is Theia, who we encounter in the secret ending, but it's also highly probable that Selene's child is named Helios, which is also the name of Selene's spaceship.
