Liquid Text Display at Rokolectiv 2011 Popescu Paul 2011-04-16 | With the media upheaval from the moderncyberwar/diplomaticscandal involving wikileaks I decided to built this version of a liquid text display which would print news feeds from wikileaks. Working like a text scroll that is seen on every tv news station. Like the real news gets squeezed through different media channels and gets retransmitted and reinterpreted, in this installation the text message, as it travels through the tubes gets out of sync and looses it's shape, ending up looking like an unrecognizable, unreadable and never ending line of code. Also the liquids are collected, separated and reused. The installation is using two non mixable liquids to display a low res text . An arduino micro computer is managing the amount of colored liquid entering the tubes controlling an array of valves. A transparent oil is used to create the spacing and movement. In this case the text feed was from wikileaks twitter channel. With help from Mizdan with the programming and Automatic.ro. Thank you.
