Wann war das "erste Mal"? Wie sehen die sexuellen Vorlieben der Deutschen aus?
In der Studie „GeSiD“ wurden Frauen und Männer zu ihren sexuellen Erfahrungen, Beziehungen und Einstellungen interviewt. In seinem Vortrag in der Hanseatischen Materialverwaltung stellt Prof. Dr. Peer Briken die spannenden Ergebnisse vor und erklärt, warum diese Daten so wichtig sind.
Checker Tobi befragt gemeinsam mit Kindern den ARD-Wetterexperten.

In Folge 4 zeigen Ivan Chevchuk und Kyle Ann Huskin vom Exzellenzcluster Understanding Written Artefacts, welche Techniken eingesetzt werden, um verlorene oder gelöschte Schriften wieder lesbar zu machen. Die beiden erklären, wie diese Verfahren sowohl für Platons Schriften als auch für Tagebücher aus dem 2. Weltkrieg eingesetzt werden.

The two show how these techniques are used for Plato's writings as well as for World War 2 diaries.

Lasertag, Lasershow – bei dem Begriff Laser denkt ihr vielleicht als erstes an diese Attraktionen. Aber wusstet ihr, dass wir selber täglich Laser benutzen? Ohne diese Technologie wäre nämlich die schnelle Datenübertragung im Internet gar nicht möglich. Wo Laser im Alltag noch eingesetzt werden, erzählt euch Dr. Philipp Wessels-Staarmann in seiner Vorlesung. Meerwasser ist salzig und fühlt sich ziemlich kalt an. Im Sommer jedenfalls viel kälter als die Luft. Aber schmeckt Meerwasser überall gleich salzig? Ist dem Ozean eigentlich auch mal kalt? Oder schwitzt er wegen des Klimawandels die ganze Zeit? Mit diesen und weiteren Fragen befasst sich die Ozeanographin Prof. Dr. Johanna Baehr in ihrer Vorlesung und erklärt, ob der Ozean jemanden hat, der ihn wärmt oder ob er Kniebeugen machen muss.

Wenn ihr auch einmal ein Parfüm wie in dem gezeigten Experiment herstellen möchtet, braucht ihr folgende Zutaten:
- Olivenöl
- Zimt
- Kardamon
- Gemahlene Kalmuswurzel
- Mörser
Alle Zutaten bis auf das Olivenöl stellt ihr am besten vorab für eine Stunde ins Gefrierfach (im Experiment wird Stickstoff verwendet, den benötigt ihr nicht) – es geht aber auch ohne! Alles weitere erfahrt ihr in unserem Experimentiervideo.

Kolosseum, Forum Romanum und beeindruckende Brücken: Wenn wir an das alte Rom denken, dann vor allem an diese bröckelnden Bauten! Doch: Die Römer haben uns viel mehr hinterlassen als Ruinen. Die lateinische Sprache zum Beispiel, die noch heute an vielen Schulen gelehrt wird. Auch Thermen und Sauna, also das, was wir heute Wellness nennen, wurde schon im alten Rom großgeschrieben – und das sind nur einige Erbstücke aus der Römerzeit.

Relativitätstheorie vorhergesagt. Nachdem sie zunächst als theoretisches Kuriosum abgetan wurden, wissen wir mittlerweile, dass schwarze Löcher sogar relativ häufig auftreten und dass sie fast unvorstellbare Ausmaße annehmen können, die alle anderen Himmelskörper in den Schatten stellen. Doch welchen Nutzen haben sie? Und droht durch sie vielleicht sogar Gefahr?
Diese und andere Fragen rund um Sprachen können im Fremdsprachenunterricht mit sogenannten Linguistic Landscapes (sprachlichen Landschaften) thematisiert werden. Das Forschungsprojekt "LoCALL" der Fakultät für Erziehungswissenschaft an der Universität Hamburg stellt den Ansatz und die wissenschaftliche Forschung dazu vor.
