Step inside a flourishing UK skate scene | GREETINGS FROM: MANCHESTER Red Bull Skateboarding 2022-11-01 | England’s cultural juggernaut of a city makes for one of the country’s most interesting skate scenes precisely because it has got so much going against it.Despite a central architecture that reflects the city’s previous importance to the cotton trade- meaning New York-style tall buildings and relatively narrow streets (the cotton was moved by boats), Manchester’s skate scene has not only survived council bans and inclement weather, but is absolutely flourishing right now. As Eddie Belvedere notes during the episode: “It’s just constant- it’s just growth, man- it’s never going to stop, I don’t think.”One of the fastest-growing parts of the Manchester scene is the number of girls skating right now, so we were delighted to bring Margie Didal to skate the city for that reason, particularly.As she said afterwards: “I was surprised when we got to Manchester, because it was gnarly- big skate scene, especially the women’s scene. UNDER PRESSURE | Angelo Caro Jart Skateboards Video Part Red Bull Skateboarding 2024-09-17 | The trajectory of Latin American skateboarding as a global force began with the Brazilians, but in the last decade almost every country in South America has contributed its verse to the song: Jhancarlos Gonzalez from Colombia, Milton Martinez from Argentina, Mathias Torres from Chile. Angelo Caro is Peru’s first professional skateboarder, and he is absolutely superb. The streets of South America are quick teachers when it comes to not falling, and Angelo has been on a rocket ride of progression over the last few years. His talent is undeniable, but his natural humility keeps him grounded.Having shone in our unrepeatable skate tours of Colombia, Paraguay, Belize and beyond, Angelo has balanced street skating with a contest career that started internationally with second place at Red Bull’s Skate Arcade in Lisbon, Portugal back in 2015.
