Sonic and the Secret Rings - High-Res Opening - Non-Cropped - Remastered RealSonicVideos 2021-01-03 | Happy new year 2021 everyone. You voted for it and now you get it! After quite some work I am glad I can present to you the remastered version of the Sonic and the Secret Rings Opening Cutscene. For those of you who are interested, the whole Original Opening was produced in 30fps and its always a blast to watch it! I cosider it one of my favourites.Of course I was able to find a few things which needed to be improved for a remastered version. Like always i tried to recreate colordepths, sharpness and details in the video. But there mainly were two issues I came across, while I was working through the shots, which didn't pass my quality check. The first one was the shot when night palace starts to lift off the ground and the screen starts shaking. Here we had some visible black bars because the shake was probably created in post without enough rendered overscan. So I quickly painted out the black bars. The second one was in the close-up shot from Night Palace had doubled frames. Probably because they slowed this shot down in post to be more dramatic and longer on screen. Sadly they didn't use a proper interpolation technique and it came out with doubled frames. So I deleted the doubled frames and recreated the missing frames with vector based interpolation.So enough nerdtalk. Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 - Opening - 4K Remastered - Original 24fps - Cinema Version RealSonicVideos 2020-01-11 | I am happy to present to you the remastered Version of the Sonic 06 Opening. What is so special about it and the 24fps in the title? Well the opening we know has 30fps. But before it was put onto XBox 360 and Playstation 3 the creators used 24fps to render it. By changing the footage from 24fps to 30fps and putting the game onto the game disc they added double frames. This is not very nice because it causes some little framestuttering in the video.It took me a while to figure out a good way to get rid of the non-original doubled frames without cutting them out frame by frame. But after some tedious work it is finally done. With this upload we now have a version of the opening how it was originally rendered and intended to be. Sonic 06 Opening now rendered with 24 fps like cinema movies.Please enjoy!Some may hate it some may like it. But in the end I think we can agree the Opening was amazing!
