04:20 I do 2 voidclips to navigate around a huge brush out of bounds that's blocking me from doing just 1.
04:48 I do a few saveloads to make the box push me past a trigger skipping a cutscene.
04:58 Due to a mapping error the next map is misaligned so I use this to get stuck in the wall for a voidclip.
05:09 The jeep is supposed to be parked inside the tunnel I come out of but due to the saveloding from the voidclip at the start of the map the suspension of it freaks out, so I use this to my advantage to manipulate it into landing in the perfect orientation for me to start driving to where I need to go (there is also another jeep in this area that you can see freaking out in the top right corner for a split second)
05:15 The game tries to force you to take the car by locking it and then, when hitting a trigger in the tunnel, unlocking it and changing to the next map a split second later. But this gives just enough time to drive out of the transition trigger and exiting the car to achieve yesclip.
05:19 The next 3 maps have special level change triggers that let me hit them in yesclip.
05:28 Sadly this map uses a normal level change trigger so I save delete to get out of yesclip.
05:55 When this cutscene starts the players controls are disabled but the player object is not frozen so I enter it in such a way that I launch over tothe door that opens after it finishes.
06:49 Due to skipping an earlier cutscene the guy talking is out of frame.
07:35 I damage boost over a trigger skipping a cutscene.
08:29 The big fan room has a clip brush forcing you to drop to your death but at the bottom of the vent is a trigger that removes it.
09:00 At the bottom of the elevator shaft there is a kill trigger which is supposed to be disabled by the tram hitting a trigger at the top, but anything can activate this trigger so I shoot a bolt into it.
09:23 I do the box pushing trick to skip another cutscene trigger.
09:45 Like earlier the next is misaligned so I get stuck in the wall and also throw a grenade just before the level change making me instantly throw a second one.
09:53 This button is surrounded by a trigger which starts a cutscene, but I have just enough reach to hit it without entering the trigger.
10:55 I use the box pushing trick again, but this time it's used to skip a kill trigger.
11:27 I do a quantum crouch so I can poke my head through the ceiling and press a button.
11:44 This damage boost is just to give me speed since I can't sprint due to the drowning using up my aux power.
11:50 In this room you're supposed to wait around for a little robot that eventually shows up and then shoot it, but the hitbox for the robot is sitting in the air the entire time so I just shoot it early.
12:28 I punt the metal piece to launch me over a small trigger skipping a cutscene.
12:54 This map has a jeep at the end and just like with the earlier jeep map the voidclip messes with the suspension so the reason I wait a moment here before clipping down is to manipulate the jeep into landing in a good spot.
13:27 Just like the first jeep map this level change is on a short timer which again gives me just enough time to achieve yesclip.
13:33 This map is a little weird; you're supposed to download "portal data" in each map of the mod but there is no global counter so only this map matters and even then you don't have to download the data, you just have to hit (or avoid) certain triggers and buttons in a specific order which starts with a trigger in this vent.
13:37 Here I enter a cutscene trigger on purpose. Earlier I hit another trigger that is necessary to finish the map but which also starts a cutscene after a short delay, but that cutscene is pretty long so I interrupt it by playing this shorter one to gain back control faster.
14:55 There is a good and bad ending to this mod which depends on whether you downloaded all the portal data or not and I go for the good ending since the bad ending doesn't actually end the game, you are just left in the map with a non-activated portal.
Two years ago there was an Aperture Ireland segmented run that was never uploaded which had a time of 13:53.383. Two years later the same people are back with many new routes, crazy segments, and a whopping 2 minute and 23 second timesave.

The run was started on June 18th, 2022, and completed on June 26th, 2022, the render was done in 6 days by jorik.
Over a few days we were able to adjust the game for segmenting. It was very difficult to segment, in addition, it was impossible to calculate the final time perfectly to the milliseconds, so we prioritized the beauty of the run. We also encountered some problems in rendering that turned out to be impossible to fix (except for sounds). For some reason, every time we saved a segment, the objects fell out of our hands (as you can see in the video), so we tried to put them on the ground before saving the segment. The teleportation of the player to the base, which you can see at the very end of the video, is a default feature in Synergy.
Done with unlimited fps, enabled bunnyhop cap, latest Steam version, without using the "wait" command.
This project has been in the works for over a year, with the routing starting from 30th May 2021 and the ending of the scripting process at 18th June 2022. This was over 385 days of blue shift cutsceneless and I couldn't be any prouder of how it turned out.

This run began back in November of 2021 after having the brilliant idea of releasing a Hunt Down The Freeman segmented run two years in a row. This is a speedrun of the any% category which skips the tutorial map and the last map by purposely jumping in the sea which plays the "bad ending" cutscene that we counted to be one of the endings of the game. The run concluded February of 2022.

The run was started on February 23rd 2020, and completed 327 days later on January 14th 2021.
Ideas for a segmented speedrun for Gunman Chronicles started in 2011. Quadrazid started work on finding skips, tricks, and routing the game. In 2014/2015, Takyon, PJC, Nicole and other runners started working on a segmented run for GMC, having routed the game up to the start of Rust. They completed the first three maps of City before coming to a stop.
»»-------------¤-------------««
Technical details:
The run was performed on Gunman Chronicles from the SourceRuns GoldSrc Package 1.36 (build 6153), on default settings. Gunman Chronicles unlike some other GoldSrc games does not have a bunnyhop cap present. The run used a maximum of 100 fps to emulate WON settings. There was no use of the cust_ command abuse trick.
Near the end of Rust, we make use of an oversight by the mappers which allows us to obtain permanent low gravity. It is done by going into a room which puts the player in low gravity, and then exiting this room without activating the trigger meant to revert us back to normal gravity. This allows us to keep low gravity for the rest of the run.
This run is heavily scripted using the in-game console and Bunnymod XT. The most widely used scripts are: - BXT Autojump, - BXT Ducktap, - 180º turn for shotgun/chemgun boosts, - +use spam

Originally estimated to be around five-ish minutes, many discoveries lowered this time, most notably Rock found a secret developer button still left in the game, skipping everything after the elevator entirely.
Celebrating 15 years of this important milestone in Source speedrunning history!
Half-Life 2: Done Quick was first published on this day, 15 years ago, on March 8th, 2006. It was the first Source segmented run of its kind, performed by the HL2DQ Team after 2 years of hard work. While the run's legitimacy was called into question on December 1st, 2014, its legacy lives on in the runs it inspired, and the ultimate creation of SourceRuns itself!
To celebrate its 15-year anniversary, we, 2838, tmob and the_kovic, honor it by re-rendering and re-editing the run in 1080p 60FPS. Due to various visual discrepancies regarding demo jitter in earlier Half-Life 2 builds, our best efforts were put forth to make the run look as clean and smooth as possible.
This project began on December 14th, 2020 and was completed on March 4th, 2021!

Completed in 718 segments (610 normal segments and 108 save/load buffering segments) on Easy difficulty, this speedrun was completed on March 16, 2020.
Presenting the segmented speedrun of Half-Life: Source.
Upon inception of a Half-Life: Source speedrun, very few strats or glitches were known within the game. Within a few months, Maltemller and actionstorm had found enough new glitches and routes to bring the final time of the run down to under 17 minutes! The run started mid-2018 and finished in February 2020, with a time of 16:47.88; much lower then the original estimate.
Runner comments: Had this mod routed for about 2.5 years and finally got of my ass and made the run.

The speedrun uses "unofficial" settings to simulate Half-Life 1's WON version behaviour by removing the bunnyhop speed cap and using a limit of 100fps. This combination can not be considered legitimate due to the modification being released on late Steam version with the bunnyhop speed cap already in place. Therefore, this run is made with only entertainment purposes in mind.
The speedrun was started by execut4ble back on October 5, 2017.

, done in 122 segments on Easy difficulty.
The speedrun was started by raintnt and Rama back on May 30, 2018 after it was suggested multiple times by the community. Now we're excited to release it to the public!
After 8 months of running (and an unreasonably long time editing), we are proud to present this segmented run done in 223 segments (of which 23 exist purely for save-load abuse with camera props). This run improves over the previous segmented run by more than 15 minutes! Virtually everything in the run was completely rerouted to incorporate under elevator strats as much as possible. By utilizing cameras to obtain save glitch between maps, a new approach to routing segmented runs was discovered by calamity which is faster and easier than even the strats used in the current Portal TAS.
Run edited and encoded by UncraftedName.
This run is done on the last pre-SteamPipe build of Portal (5135). In the latest Steam build of Portal, everything is still possible, but some tricks are much harder to perform. Also, this run made use of a save glitch visual overlay and autojump provided by Source Pause Tool. Everything is still possible in the unmodified game. No cheat protected commands, hacks, etc. were used.
Note about legitimacy of the run: Because most of TAS features were implemented by ourselves, certain input functions have been implemented incorrectly, and some may consider it illegitimate (for instance, using floating point number for joystick input). We've tried to make sure not to abuse these "features", but there's a good chance that it's not possible to replicate some singular frames with pure game inputs. That's why we mostly take this project as an experiment and route showcase rather than a fully legitimate tool-assisted speedrun.
This TAS was made using Source Pause Tool on build 5135 of Portal. Thanks to Calamity - route help Imanex - route help Fnzzy - route help YaLTeR - tools ConnorAce - help with glitchless rules
