This map has a really cool concept + a lot of really interesting research behind it so you should check it out!Was super excited to get this part, had a lot of fun doing it! I feel like a rushed it a little but I'm p happy with the outcome. I tried something new for the shading (Did it all with after effects) I'm not sure if I love it, but it was definitely interesting to try. I made the mistake of exporting with camera moves THEN doing the shading so it looks a little wonky at times.Also just tacked on the improvement part because I was thinking about it, one of the reasons I took this part is because I had done similar movements in the past. I def have improved more since the 2019 one (My Hero Academia part) but from (the 2020 part ) dark matter part I feel like the improvement is a bit more subtle, but I have def gotten better.Also appreciate the graphic design of this thumbnail

Casimir Pulaski Day - Jayfeather PMV TheWisestDino 2022-04-10 | Content Warning for : Animal death, lots of grief related stuffThis PMV may not be, Book Accurate, as I didn't reread this scene in Squirrelflight's Hope to make it but I remember reading her death scene and being quite moved. Basically this is about Jayfeather healing after Leafpool's death. Leafpool has always been the one who is there for him, and when she dies he pushes away his family. But in reality, he is hurting his family as much as he is himself by pushing them away. So he sees Leafpool in starclan, remembers who she was for him, and steps forward and heals with the people who knows, filling that role for Alderheart.Again, I'm p sure this wasn't how it went in the books but I got this PMV idea in my head and could not stop thinking about it! Making this was definitely A Bad Idea bc I have a lot of homework right now but I got the actual frames for the video done in like, 5 days? Minus concept art and editing time. I am not super happy with it, I wish I could have spent more time on the editing to make it look better but ehh. I do really like how I drew starclan, I kinda wanted it to feel super ethereal and like it stretches on forever.

Maybe One Day - A Bristlefrost and Rootspring PMV TheWisestDino 2022-01-18 | Major Spoilers for A Light in The Mist ahead!!Okay, I know probably everyone and their Mom has drawn this scene before, but I read an excerpt A Light in the Mist and honestly it was really good, and I really enjoyed seeing how the story concluded. Supernatural Dialogue Test TheWisestDino 2021-12-30 | Basically over the first two weeks of the semester I consumed like 5-6 seasons of supernatural for ~nostalgia~ but then didn't have enough time to fully watch it. So I started this project just as a way to like get out my supernatural feelings. I'm not super happy with it? Its definitely got a lot of issues with the lipsync in particular but I thought I would post it anyway. It was actually pretty funny because like a few weeks after I started working on this and had put it down for a while we had a lip sync assignment in my class. I made a separate one because this one was too long + wasn't using the right character RIPAlso I have a PMV I'm working on that I hopefully should have done within the next couple weeks? Ill probably post some wips on twitter so keep your eyes out!

It was a pretty simple part but I had a lot of fun doing it and managed to kick it out in like, half a day yay. And I'm decently happy with it? Though I mostly did it because I have a ton of hw to do today so I used this to procrastinate heheFun fact! I have a one direction cement stone at my house bc I had a birthday party when I was little where we made cement stepping stones. One of my friends was obsessed with One Direction so she made a one direction themed one, and then just never picked it up. I now have a One Direction cement themed stone at my house and no interest in One Direction. Huh.
Were-Whisker, Coyotes Sleekwhisker map - Part 26 TheWisestDino 2021-10-12 | For this map: youtube.com/watch?v=YDBxrJW4MI8This map has a cool concept, with Sleekwhisker being a werewolf, and Needletail being the one able to reach out to her!Been super swamped with hw recently, but saw this map and decided to take a part to give myself a bit of a break. Coyotes are one of my fav animals, plus I love modest mouse, plus it was a quicker map so I thought I would just join. Honestly had a lot of fun working on it, I think I am getting better at lipsync? This part ended up being tough though because about halfway through inbetweening my computer crashed and my whole file got corrupted. I ended up retracing over the whole thing and taking out Sleekwhisker walking because I didn't have time. And then I ended up animating the whole reflection because I couldnt figure out how to make it work by just flipping the drawing because of how it overlapped. Not my easiest map part experience but its a pretty short part so it was pretty easy to recover from, and I really enjoyed working on it. There are some things I would change but im p happy.
Lay All Your Love on Me - Part 28 - Dovewing Tigerheart MAP TheWisestDino 2021-09-03 | Map Call - youtube.com/watch?v=ViRE-OyHDSAThis part features Tigerheart and Dovewing! I kinda rushed to get this done, so I'm not super happy with it? I kinda wish I had been more ambitious with the camera moves/ acting, but it came out okay. I def with I had done a few more passes on the blowing fur, or the lipsync. But there are parts I do like, I do really like the last shot! I was channeling the Lion King for it. Also big thanks to @SpecterSkies! She helped with coloring :D
Number 99: Just As I am - Jayfeather TheWisestDino 2021-08-29 | Warning: Eyestrain warning for this!! Lots of flashing lightsI really debated whether this was an AMV or a PMV so its simply a Jayfeather ~~vid~~. Kind of a small one, less than a minute, but I think it still fits. Plus I have had my eyes on this song for a while (if you listen to the whole song is it such a jayfeather song, its "Daisy by Brand New"). Basically this focuses on how Jayfeather is seen as like, weak and also a man of god first, and how he is sectioned off and isolated because of it. In the end he is more powerful than anyone could know. I'm also not happy with a big portion of this video but am glad I got it done -_- . I tried to play with the lighting and like washed out colors. Hope it came across pretty cool though : DCollege starts for me in like, tomorrow so I wont be posting too much. Sorry for the inactivity as well, had a busy summer, yada yada. Ill post some schoolwork and wrap up my last few map parts though, hopefully soon!
Schoolwork and Unfinished Projects! TheWisestDino 2021-05-14 | I just finished a (very busy) semester in college, so i though I would upload some of the schoolwork I did, plus some old videos I had laying around.The first videos are from my traditional animation class. I left out a couple of projects, but what is here is most of my hw from the class. The second vid is a quick board I did centered around the ram horns on my fursona weighing them down. I don't really know what it means I was just playing around with the concept.Second one is Naruto and Sasuke, I watched Naruto recently and made a quick storyboard using a song I like. Dark Matter - Part 12 TheWisestDino 2020-12-10 | Map Call - youtube.com/watch?v=UTKk1MessLgThis part features Ivypool, Hawkfrost, Dovewing and Brambleclaw. Its when Ivypool like realizes how evil the dark forest is :D. This is by far the longest map part I've ever done - clocking in at 21 seconds. And it was action! So I got most of this done during quarantine, and have been slowly chipping away at it since I got to college. I finished it up this morning, and I'm not totally happy with it? A lot of my boarding choices I feel like don't work really well, and a lot of the animation seems outdated to me now. But I do like some parts, mainly the one where Ivypool is running and she is shown from behind. BUT ITS DONE! And my semester ends pretty soon so I should be able to wrap up another part soon

But it was a pretty simple part, just some lipsinc. I'm not sure I'm happy with the timing, it kind of feels like its underwater? At least to me. She is supposed to be staring down Brambleclaw. I saw this map and loved the songs and palettes so I had to join. I ended up making it sort of in a painty style - it turned out to be a lot of fun - especially painting the camp. I was trying to make the light hit her fur as a nod to Firestar. I hope that shows in the part!

I still have two parts in my queue, but expect stuff to slow down (Not that I upload that often ha)I'm not super happy with this part? I was originally going to try and do it with puppets, but that wasn't really possible bc my computer couldn't take it and puppets are super hard. So I ended just doing my normal frame by frame. I do like the editing though, it was fun adding all the lighting in after effects.
Dreamland - Mothwing PMV TheWisestDino 2020-08-18 | A PMV about Mothwing!I recently read Mothwing's new novella, and it was really good. I really loved how her character struggles with her faith in Starclan - as well as issues with her family and clan life. Then I heard this song on the new Glass Animals album and it just fit her. So I speed run this PMV and got it done in like a week?So basically it uses this idea of halos to represent faith - the golden halo is for cats that believe in starclan, the blue halo one is for cats that don't. Hawkfrost's is for cats that believe in the dark forest. Also I should just say a lot of these scenes may not have happened exactly in the books, I just ended up streamlining the story for clarity's sake. Same with left out characters.

And surprisingly I'm like kinda happy with this? There are things I have issues with but overall I think its good. Billy The Kid - Scourge Map - Part 6 TheWisestDino 2020-08-06 | Map call - youtube.com/watch?v=QCgOkz8rIw4This part is meant to focus on Bloodclan and their relationship to Scourge. Because the song is a bit more upbeat, I tried to make the clan really look up to him more than fear him. I think I sort of succeeded? I am pretty happy with this part. I did it all in photoshop which was actually really fun, it made me focus on the timing more than doing it in adobe animate. The animations from the cutoff are a sketch for the walk cycle from shot 1 and a character I animated for shot 3 that I didn't use bc it didnt really fit what I was going for.

A lot of the animation is older and I think it shows, and I had a pretty strong vision for this in the beginning that I don't think quite translated. I wanted the first shot to feel very long and I don't know if it does. Otherwise, there are parts I'm happy with - like the backgrounds and lighting effects I just learned how to do in Adobe Animate!Also - two parts in a week I'm proud

It was one of my favorite scenes from the season and I just love how Glimmer has wings, even if its just for a bit. THIS PART! oh my god I really wanted this done before May 15th because that's when the new season of She ra comes out so I rushed to get it done. And its the longest part I've ever had. And its HUMANS!! With complicated designs! It was a ton of fun though, and there is a lot of stuff I'm unhappy with, but at the same time there is a lot of stuff I am happy with! I've def improved from the last time I animated She-ra. Now its just waiting time until the new season heheAlso the showrunner retweeted it so that's pretty exciting. :O

There are a couple issues that would just take too much time to smooth over but otherwise I like the movement of it? I really enjoy doing lipsync and I think I'm getting better at it. Also, two uploads in two days!! I got so many nice responses on my Silversand PMV yesterday I couldn't respond to everyone but I am so glad people liked it I worked really hard on it!!!!!!
SilverSand AU PMV - All That TheWisestDino 2020-04-18 | Basically the AU idea is that what if it wasn't Firestar and Sandstorm, but Silverstream and Sandstorm? Therefore Feathertail and Stormfur were not born and instead, Silverstream goes on the journey, and Sandstorm tags along. I didn't include how they met but basically its this map part - youtube.com/watch?v=T8Y-KkDqRik And they stayed together but in different clans until they left on the journey together!More detailed plot below -So after staying together for many moons in separate clans, Silver and Sand feel like something is missing, they love each other but want to be together and not have to hide it. When Silverstream gets a message that she must make the journey, she tells Sandstorm who insists on going with. They set off together with Brambleclaw, Crowpaw and Tawnypelt. Silver and Sand become parental figures for Crowpaw, and the whole groups becomes very close. After going to the sundrown place, Midnight tells them all they must go, so they start to head back. They go back through they mountains and run across the tribe, where they learn that there is a prophecy for a silver cat to save them from a mountain lion. Sandstorm defends Silverstream, but Silver accepts what she must do. Her plan is to have the mountain lion fall off the waterfall, however it goes wrong and Sandstorm has to save her, and Silverstream looses her leg. Silver is unable to make the journey back, but the rest of the crew does. In the meantime, Silver is able to adjust to life on three legs and both her and Sand grow fond of the tribe, become friends with its members and even adopting a kitten whos parents had been victims of the mountain lion. When the clans return they decide to stay, having found a home where they can be together (in my mind when their kid is grown up they visit the clans during the summer)So that's it! The only reason I got this done in any part is because we are all currently on quarantine and I am literally not allowed to leave the house! I've had the AU in mind for a while, and its nice to complete a project longer than a map part. Hope you guys like it!
STOP 72 Hour Shadowpaw map - Part 3 TheWisestDino 2020-04-09 | Map Call - youtube.com/watch?v=vfud5leAr0A This is a 72 hour map, but I actually managed to finish it a day early. Thank you quarantine. It features Shadowpaw, the imposter, and Dovewing at the end. I'm pretty happy with this part, I like how I did the tweening at the end. As well, the colors and lightning were very interesting to work with. It was fun to animate Shadowpaw too because I just finished Veil of Shadows, which was really good!

I'm not sure how to feel about the first camera move, I did it in adobe animate and it has some issues, + I tried to make the background lighter because of the rain, but I don't know if that came across.Otherwise, I'm out of school because of corona, so probably more to come! I'm working hard on a PMV that should be out soonish, so look forward to that.
