Mangyongdae revolutionary school is the most prestigious school in the DPRK. After graduation many of the students end up at important leading positions within the state or the Party. It was founded in 1947 and is located in the western parts of Pyongyang, just north of the Mangyong Hill. At the foot of Mangyong Hill also lies Mangyongdae, the birthplace of President Kim Il-sung.
Initially (and to some extent still) this school was intended for the children of the revolutionary partisans who fought together with Kim Il-sung around Mt. Paektu during the Japanese occupation. The "red stripes" mentioned in the lyrics are to be found on their uniforms, at the sides of the trousers.
I have no idea when this song was written or by whom. Regardless this very upbeat march might fit well to celebrate the arrival of April...
