This Momma Killdeer's eggs started hatching yesterday evening. With one of the four hatched yesterday, more were hatching this morning when the rain started. We worried that the young might drown or die due to being chilled, but their brave Momma covered and kept them warm during the worst of it. You can see one or two nestlings poking their head out in front of her chest at the beginning of the video.
