Modest Mouse is a rock band formed in 1993 in Issaquah, Washington, and based in Portland, Oregon. Their new, eighth album is their first independent release after two decades with Epic Records. Isaac Brock, the band's frontman, guitarist, and the only member to appear on all their records, conceived An Eraser And A Maze for his side project Ugly Casanova before turning it into a Modest Mouse album. The album accurately captures the eclecticism of a band that has never disappointed its large fanbase.
