UPDATE - Shout out to RetroSegaDev in the comments, but in the video, I complain about the computer "cheating" and driving faster than me. Apparently, even though it's not mentioned anywhere in the game or the manual (which only describes the characters in the briefest way possible, discussing how it saves your records), the different characters apparently do have different attributes, ala Mario Kart, so it's possible that the computer wasn't cheating, it was just using a character with a faster top speed than I did. Apologies for that, but this is one of the good things about the comments, in that when I say something especially stupid, someone can correct me. Thanks for keeping me honest RetroSegaDev, but that feature, and the fact that they didn't properly publicize it doesn't change the ratings I gave it at the end.
The next video might get delayed...but it's always coming. The original plan was to have this review out last week, and then a tiny, insignificant company called Crowdstrike decided to ruin anyone's life that worked in IT. Thanks guys, appreciate it.
ANYWAY...enough about that crap, let's talk about Micro Machines: Turbo Tournament 96. The Micro Machines series has a near legendary reputation in Europe, but didn't do so well in the States, and this is the second game in a row in the series that didn't make it over here. Is there a reason for that, or did the US get screwed...again. Well, I'll take a look at that and possibly come up with a controversial viewpoint on the game that might get me banned from the UK for life. Spoilers: The game is much better in multiplayer mode.
