The footage you're about to see was filmed in the late 1960s by my father Eloy Escagedo Lliraldi. At that time my parents were still dating, not yet married. This footage captures a day at Key Biscayne and the Crandon park zoo. There are also various clips driving around Miami and at home. Along with my parents, we also have my immediate family all together enjoying that day at the zoo.
This is a snapshot moment in time. It revels Miami as it use to be in the late 1960s and the people that made up my world half a decade later when I was born. This is deeply meaningful to me in so many ways. Most of the people filmed that day, my family, are no longer with us. So to see them again, smiling, walking and enjoying that day in the past, overwhelms me greatly.
