The 7th of July is the 160th birthday of Gustav Mahler. We celebrate it with the only surviving chamber work from the Viennese master: Quartet Movement in A minor for piano, violin, viola & cello. Originally written as opening movement of an abandoned piano quartet, and rediscovered only in the early '60s, the work is now a firm favourite in the chamber repertoire. Hear a 2017 performance of the piece by four members of Aurora Orchestra, John Reid, Maia Cabeza, Max Baillie and Sebastien van Kuijk.
