Kings Canyon National Park surprised us all over again.
As part of our quest to visit all 63 U.S. National Parks, we returned to Kings Canyon National Park after realizing years ago that we had somehow visited Sequoia National Park without exploring Kings Canyon. Looking back, we're glad we made that mistake. It gave us a reason to come back.
This California road trip takes us from the Pacific Coast through the vineyards of California's Central Valley and high into the Sierra Nevada Mountains, where we discover incredible dispersed camping, scenic drives, giant sequoias, and some of the most awe-inspiring landscapes in the National Park System.
Before heading into the mountains, we spend the day with a Sun-Maid grower family to learn how California raisins are grown and visit the Sun-Maid facility to see what goes into the iconic little red box we've all known our entire lives.
Then it's on to Kings Canyon National Park.
From General Grant Tree and Grant Grove to the Kings Canyon Scenic Byway, waterfalls, mountain views, and giant sequoias, this park delivers everything we love about RV travel and National Park adventures. Some places make you feel small in the best possible way, and Kings Canyon is one of them.
