Really glad we got this storm, where I live we have had weeks of very little rain and my water storage was depleted. After the heatwave of the last few days we really needed this rain.
It is normal for a heatwave to trigger thunderstorms and this was a good one for sure.
I managed to replenish most of my water storage containers but the downpipes to the IBC's were clogged with debris and didn't collect much. I dashed out and unclogged them and managed to catch a few minutes of heavy rain in them, every drop counts.
Hopefully this will delay any hosepipe ban that may be imposed.
If you have your own stored water any hosepipe ban does not apply to that source, it only applies to the domestic supply.
