A tribute to Canadian-born actress Marie Prevost (November 8, 1896 – January 21, 1937) who appeared in 121 films, but who died tragically early. She was a star in the silent era but as the talkies loomed she struggled with alcoholism, depression and weight problems which eventually derailed her career. She found herself relegated to "best friend" supporting roles and as the 1930s wore on her parts got smaller and smaller. Marie was adorable in everything she was in. The first song in the video, "If I Had My Way" was sung by Marie in the film, "The Flying Fool" (1929), the second song is very fittingly, "Marie" performed by Tommy Dorsey and his Orchestra, recorded in 1937.
