MAKING SENSE WITH GENERATIVE LEARNING ACTIVITIES - Logan Fiorella
How can instructors help students make sense of what they are l earning? In this talk, Fiorella reviews research from his lab exploring the benefits and boundary conditions of generative learning activities, including learning by explaining and learning by drawing. Dr. Fiorella is an associate professor of educational psychology at the University of Georgia. He studies the cognitive science of learning and its implications for instruction, particularly how students learn from explanations, examples, and visualizations.
