Is it possible to make a 'Better Box Joint jig'? I think the jury is still out on this one!!

A while ago I made a simple and quick box joint jig and made my first 'box joint' box with it. I was so impressed I wanted to make a bunch more boxes with box joints in them.

However I wanted to make wider box joints and that meant I would have to make another jig. So I thought this would be a great time to make a 'Better Box Joint Jig'.

I did some research on YouTube and put together some ideas I had seen plus my own thoughts and came up with this jig. But as I started to make it I soon discovered it was way more complex to make than I first thought it would be!!

Let me know what you think. Is it too complex to make for what it does?
