The woodworking mallet is as old as time. They're perfect for chisel work, for joinery and other tasks where you need to knock something into something else. Hammers and rubber mallets both are problematic as they leave marks, but a nice, stout mallet made from your own hands not only feels like an extension of your body, but it's much safer on your woodworking projects.
