In this video I show you how you can use small scraps of fabric to make a beautiful ginger jar style vase, but it is a technique that you can adapt to all different shapes and colours.
I’m creating this vase for Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery volume 7 Still Life project where the prompt is a ginger jar vase of flowers in slow stitching style. #Roxysjournalofstitchery
The vase is inspired by the lovely Emily from @CollageQuilter who creates amazing pieces and shares her approach here on YouTube and through her book.
The vase is my own design and I really enjoyed playing with how to create light and shadow with scraps of fabric. I love that the vase also features flowers and birds - two of my favourite motifs.
The next step will be fussy cutting and slow stitching flowers to fill the vase. It’s going to be such fun! #slowstitching Here’s the next video:
